Class Introduction
Welcome to Adobe Muse Advanced Techniques. My name is Brian Wood and I am a web developer, speaker, author, trainer and an overall Muse nut and what I wanted to do was I wanted to take you through and show you what we're going to do today with Muse. Now, this is going to build on top of content you probably already know about Adobe Muse, maybe some beginning content you've learned. I've actually gone through, and when I used Muse, I use it for a lot of different reasons. You don't have to use it just to build responsive websites, but that's where it's really powerful. You can use it to create versions, to create test cases, to do prototyping, all kinds of things, even, like, wire-framing if you want to, which is just gray boxes and trying to figure out how things work and act together. So, there's a lot of use cases for Muse, and we'll talk a little more about that, but I've actually, just to give you a little background on myself, like I said, I am a developer and I wrote the Adobe Mu...
se CC Classroom in a Book, second edition and that came out a little while ago, and it's got a lot of great content as far as, like, beginning content and things like that. Today, we are going to go through, like I said, and show you a sampling of more advanced techniques in Muse, because I'm hoping you understand Muse, you've gone through it and maybe built a responsive site or two, you get the idea, but I want to take it a little bit further. We're going to take an existing responsive website and just add some cool stuff, to be frank. I mean, that's what we're going to do. Like I said, it's best to have an understanding of those fundamentals in Muse. We're going to talk about widgets. We'll talk about all the different types there are and even show you a few cool things as far as, like, nesting widgets and, you know, setting up animations. We're going to work with scroll effects, or scrolling effects. Those are amazing. We'll talk about that later on. We're going to add 3rd party widgets. When you build in Muse, you're probably going to want to take it further. You're going to want to add things that Muse can't do, like, maybe sell stuff or add background video, like we're going to talk about, all types of things that we're going to work with. We're going to do animated transitions. We're going to sell content. Now, we're not going to build a shopping cart today, but we're going to take advantage of things that leverage selling and make it easier for us to work in Adobe Muse to get that done. Then, we're also going to incorporate some content from Photoshop, Illustrator and other places. So, that's it, I'm done with slides. We want to get into this thing and, as my seven year old son says, "Let's do this thing."
