Water Droplets
everyone. Welcome to creative lives. Created photography Challenge. My name is Justin and today's challenge Water droplets. If you haven't had a chance to play with it, water doesn't pretty cool things. Once you're able to capture with really fast shutter speeds and we get very prescriptive about where you're focusing for this challenge, you're gonna need a couple things. A camera with a fast shutter speed. It lends with the mid to long folk. Arrange a tripod, a water container, some bright sunlight, an eyedropper and, of course, water. For this one, you don't want to set your tripod up so that your camera is relatively close to your source of water and that it's on a about a 45 degree plane of you to the water surface. Don't want to be too directly down on top of it. Otherwise you really captured effect. Another good thing to note is that ideally, if you're doing this outside, it wouldn't be too windy. It's a little windy today, but it's okay. We're gonna work with what we got. Okay, ...
Now we're gonna talk about how you're going to set up the shot itself. It's a little tricky because you're going to try and use manual focus to focus in on a spot above the water. Now, it's not really gonna work for auto focus. So this is where a friend can come in handy in terms of camera settings. I think it's really key for this particular challenge to prioritize shutter speed over everything else. You want to have a high, really fast shutter speed in order to capture that water as it's moving through the air. Therefore, my shutter speed is that one to thousands of a second my apertures at 5.6. In order to accommodate that, my I s O is about 2000. It's also critical that you have you shoot on continuous high. So you're getting the most frames per second as possible in order to maximize your chance of capturing that water in that exact moment you're looking for All right, we're looking to have it land right there. You got it? Okay. Can you lift it up a little bit more? I see the shadow. All right. Ready? All that one sick. Oh, my God. Ok, nice. We got it. Take you a minute in post to really sort through all these, But I promise you, when you get the one that just really nails it, it's worth it. We're excited to see what you come up with, so please submit your photos by tagging them on Instagram Creative Photo Challenge will display some of our favorites every week. I love the format of this class. Each challenge is presented in a quick, yet thorough manner. It is a great way to try new techniques. The best way for me to learn is by doing and the format of this class gives me the perfect opportunity to do so.
