Structure Evernote for Your Business
But they would like to start is creating a structure for ur ever note you might already know that ever know doesn't have doesn't provide tow us this rigid structure that we can rely on. So it's really up to us to create and maintain the structure and it's important to set up things properly from the very beginning, so that we don't need teo feel overwhelmed looking, oh, for for something. And we don't feel overwhelmed as you get busier and busier in your business. So in order to create a structure I would like us to look at, first of all, what type of business related notes you might be adding into? You are ever note. And for that, we will look at all this individual activities you engage in on the regular business basis in your business. So who can give me a few examples of things that they do on the on the regular basis? Checking a mental posting to social media ah working on content creation for my classes I teach yeah great by their examples like accepting applications for an onlin...
e program it's like a on boarding process accepting the application setting them in invoice for the payment and kind of well those are donated process yes there's a really really great examples and if you are all in business those will be the examples of activities sector might be webinars we're doing interviews or interviewing others if you haven't offline our business may be you will be going to trade shows or two conferences so this day today stuff might be slightly different depending on the type of business iran but happy just sit down and see for yourself what are those type 00:02:01.603 --> 00:02:05. of things that's you do and in order and to help you 00:02:05.7 --> 00:02:09. you can use it very simple another very simple too 00:02:09.96 --> 00:02:13. and that is sticky notes and the reason I suggest 00:02:13.49 --> 00:02:17. that you oh he was sticking notes because before you 00:02:17.83 --> 00:02:21. actually transfer that information into ever note 00:02:21.32 --> 00:02:23. and they didn't really need to copy pace and like 00:02:23.33 --> 00:02:26. trying to move it out with a signal it's it's easy 00:02:26.89 --> 00:02:32. to see where like under what category something wolf 00:02:32.09 --> 00:02:36. full under and right here I have this signals blank 00:02:36.39 --> 00:02:38. and that's actually intentional because it's up to 00:02:38.77 --> 00:02:42. you what will be that individual category and what 00:02:42.56 --> 00:02:46. will fall under each specific category for the most 00:02:46.68 --> 00:02:50. part the larger categories will be the same for all 00:02:50.17 --> 00:02:54. businesses and that will be sales marketing financial 00:02:54.82 --> 00:02:59. admin oh managing clients so against you for yourself 00:02:59.27 --> 00:03:02. if if that apply to your business and then under each 00:03:02.57 --> 00:03:06. one of these you will put your activities so under 00:03:06.22 --> 00:03:09. marketing if you are in if you have an online business 00:03:09.93 --> 00:03:14. it can be blogging social media maybe facebook advertising 00:03:14.69 --> 00:03:18. maybe doing webinars and you will do the same thing 00:03:18.02 --> 00:03:22. with the rest ofthe this sticky notes and before I 00:03:22.01 --> 00:03:27. show you how you can actually re create that structure 00:03:27.83 --> 00:03:30. in your ever knowed how you actually be using that 00:03:30.8 --> 00:03:34. structure in every note let's talk about however note 00:03:34.85 --> 00:03:39. organizes information so you might know that the tiniest 00:03:39.73 --> 00:03:42. building block so it is speaking ever now um isn't 00:03:42.73 --> 00:03:44. note and if we 00:03:45.5 --> 00:03:49. kind of draw a parallel into physical world that could 00:03:49.15 --> 00:03:53. very much be just like a like a piece of paper and 00:03:53.83 --> 00:03:59. just like when we have a paper we put it into folders 00:04:00.27 --> 00:04:03. so like this could be the way that we are organizing certainly category off documents ever note put those notes into notebooks and when we have a collection off shoulders like this then we like we have a collection of folders but in ever note they become stacks off notebooks so notes go into notebook and then they can be put into stacks and another level of organization that ever knowed provides it's called tags and again if we go into the physical world, that would be pretty much again, like a sticky note. So if you were tio put, is sticking out, say, on every single document that relates to your blogging, you will put a certain sticking out. You will have a collection of documents and individual folders. We will have those the indicators that that is a document that pertains to blogging and in every note so that's that look like something what like this, but it never note whenever you run a search for a specific tag, actually pulls up all those notes with that individual tag and to me tags out the the great benefit of tax is that they allow a note to exist almost in different locations, so it can, because you can't tag the same note with several tags like it can be like, for example, under marketing, but at the same time, it can be something more specific. So depending how you want to create that structure, you will be using a combination ofthe notebooks and tax to organize ur notes. So let me take you inside my ever know to show you how it will look like. So right now uh we're in uh ever note and you can see that all these individual notebooks are listed on the left hand side so you can easily see these notebooks and tags right here or you can go into no in books right here at the they're over here you can just go directly into notebooks and see them listed right here in the middle so what you will see right here is that the same structure that we created out on the board can be re created already directly in ever note so you can see the marketing stock and under marketing we have blogging direct outreach interviews keep in touch newsletter surveys so basically the same category that we like the same umbrella that we put all those individual marketing activities on our board when we played with our second outs the same structure will exist then for your notebooks but you will see for yourself what are like maybe for you you do a lot of interviews and you will you have so many notes that it deserves its own stack so if you're free to play with that how you can organize notebooks and how you can put them into stacks just be aware that whenever you delete a stack that does not delete notebooks or notes in it so that you can do it stalks very easily. But if you want to do it a notebook that will deal it in a notebook itself and notes the notes in it so request do we think notebooks big careful if it's something that you want to keep but normally ever note will prompt your message so that no that will not happen accidentally so this is how um the ur notes notebooks will look uh yeah you are structure will look like if you organize you are evernote using notebooks and you can apply the same structure that we created right there to your tags so you can see right here that under business category of tax I have those higher love high level categories off tags that are listed right here so the same that we talked about we talked about marketing financial website client management and the same categories that you will have on the board you can recreate already as as your tags and with tags you can stagger them one under another how in severin several layers deep so that you can see but right here I have this individual categories under larger categories of tags. Yeah. Is there a limit to the number of stax or new books that you can have in every new yes, actually, you can create a limited number of notebooks I believe for, uh ever ever, ever know basic which is free person I've ever note you can create two in two hundred fifty notebooks and if you are ever knowed premium than you can create five thousand so you are limited as to how many notebooks you can create, or it's with tags. You can create an unlimited number of tags. But when you think about how you will be organizing ur notes and whether you select notebooks or tags to be your primary structure, like what what's important to note here is that when you are organizing your notebooks, you are organizing categories off activities that you engage in. Whereas when you are organizing tags, it will be more about those individual, our kind of almost moving pieces off every single. With business activity that you will be, oh, that that you do in your business, so see for yourself what makes more sense and try different combinations. It can be most in notebooks and some tax. It can be mostly tags. In some notebooks. There are no rules. How you can do it. It's, really up to you to create a system that feels more natural, teo, to sustain and like something that will help you understand easier, where certain notes will belong. So let's, go back to the presentation. Okay, so as you prepare, you are ever note tio, start adding business related note to it, make sure that you start with creating in structure, and you can use sticking out in order to kind of play with your structure and then decide how notebooks and tags will help you to reflect that structure again. You don't really need thio use both and use them equally. There'll be one way off structuring that will feel that you will feel more comfortable with still go with that, and lastly, committed to maintaining that new structure, and that can look like you sitting aside thirty minutes every say friday to look through the notes that you've added into your ever note over the last seven days and making sure that they you put them into the right notebook, or they carry the right tag so that the structure that you create it kind of is being maintained, because, again, it's, very easy for your ever know to become this information graveyard if we don't really, if we don't have this intention off up keeping that structure, maintaining that structure so sitting aside that time to look at okay, are my nose properly organized, will be very important, and in the lesson about searches, I will show you how you can create for yourself, though shortcut, to make this protests easier.

I had already started to organize my business activities via Evernote, that’s when I found out about this class with Natasha. Attending her class brought a whole new level to my efforts. Natasha and this class made me realize the power of systems and how I can grow my business with implementing them into my everyday life. Evernote seems to be the perfect hub for me right now where I can centralize all info, with still lots of room for expansion. And I can do that via desktop and mobile devises that synchronize seamlessly. Natasha and Evernote rock!!!
