In-Person Sales Work
I'm just gonna leave you with this, okay? Because we didn't talk about this, but I implore to, if you are not good with in person sales, I implore you to consider doing it and hiring someone to help you with it. And if you really don't think you're good at it, then hire someone else to do it for you. But them, being able to feel their prints in their hands ahead of time, if you can print a couple ahead of time and let them feel it, they're not gonna leave the house without it. They just won't, and I'm gonna tell you a little story before you go, as to now why I know that it's true. My husband and I just moved. If you don't know, we've been on the road basically for 16 weeks and we had three days, or five days where we were home. I had a mentoring student and we had to move. And then we had to leave again for like two weeks. I had to hire to pack me, move me, someone to watch the baby. It was like, I had no time. So, it was the first day in the new house and trying to unpack. I have lik...
e 36 hours to try and get as much unpacked as I can. And the door rings, doorbell rings. I'm like, who's that? I go to the door and it's this guy. He's like, "Good morning." And I was like, "Hello." He's like, "Do you have a few minutes "for me to talk to you?" And I was like, "Well no not really." But I'm very nice so I don't know how to say no, so I was like okay. He proceeds to show me about this all in one cleaner. And how it cleans ink and dirt. And how it cleans grease. And then, next thing I know, he's washing my porch. And then he asks me if I have a dog and that he could wash the dog with it. Like, it's all made of all natural cleaner and it gets rid of everything. And at first, I was like oh we don't need cleaner. And then as he proceeded to be like, look how good it comes out. See how easy it was. I was like, oh my God, I need the cleaner. And then like, and then he started like cleaning the shrubs. And then the wheel bearings on my tires. And I was like, oh my God. This is the best cleaner I've ever seen in my life. I was like, "Okay we'll get the cleaner." And I was like, "How much is it?" And he's like, "It's $135." And I was like, "Greg, can I have my checkbook?" And he comes around and he's like, "what do you need your checkbook for?" And I was like, "We're just gonna buy "a little bit of cleaner." And he's like, "Cleaner?" And he's like, "How much is it?" I was like, "It's only like $135 and then tax. "He's giving me a really good deal." And he's like, "What?" He was like, "You were just telling me about how "we have money issues. "I've got like 50,000 cleaners under the sink. "You're not getting cleaner." I'm like, "I really need the cleaner." And he's like, "If you do not turn around and shut that door "right now, I swear to God, I'm not unpacking "another box for you." And I was like, "I guess I can't get the cleaner," and I like shut the door. It was at that moment I was like, holy crap, in person sales totally works. And then I just thought about all the thing that I've bought at like three o'clock in the morning in college, like watching infomercials, right, is the same thing. It's the same idea. So I know, like what I need to be doing, what you all need to be doing, is learning how to do in person sales because when you have the experience all of a sudden you're pulling out your checkbook and paying for like 300 years worth of cleaner that you're probably gonna end up throwing out, right? So I hope that this helped in terms of business. It's the most amount of business information I could think of to add to the other two classes.

I own Kirsten's 3 classes. And they are ALL amazing, inspiring and refreshing. She is not only a super talented photographer but an amazing teacher and person as well. I have learned so much from each one of her classes. I have never met a photographer so willing to share and see their students succeed. I highly recommend people not only to buy this class, but all 3! I would not be the photographer I am today if it wasn’t for her. After following her advise for the last 3 years I am finally engaging with the audience I want and I feel true to myself in the way I shoot. This makes a huge difference in my everyday. I am am truly grateful to this photo wizard lady. ps: warning, make sure you are on birth control. These classes might make you want to have children, just to get amazing images like the ones she takes LOL (joking) #not

This workshop was by far the best photography workshop I have ever been a part of. Kirsten's work, her humor, her authenticity, her expertise and perspective will forever change the way I work with families and go about documentary photography. I am so motivated and inspired to dig deeper into my role as a photographer, and as a person, to make a real difference in the lives of those that I photograph and with my art. I'm thrilled to have been in the LIVE studio and am so grateful for Creative Live for giving phenomenal artists like Kirsten this exposure and opportunity to teach other creatives like myself! Thank you.

In the very minutes Kirsten Lewis' first class (first of three) for cL aired, I realized I needed in on this awesomeness. I became a 1 Year Mentorship student with her right away, and now I have been so incredibly fortunate to be in the studio audience for the live taping of her final class (or the third of the three, who knows what the future might hold!). For me as a 'Kirsten Lewis alumni' taking this class was perfect. I was reminded of things I knew, but had forgotten. I learned a ton of new stuff. But most of all, I remembered why we do this work in the first place: The love that is right there in the reality of life. How much this work matters to real families out there. And how much it matters to keep getting better at this, to give our families better work. I will be forever greatful that I chose the best mentor, Kirsten is such a gift to all of us. And if you're still in doubt: This class is AMAZING! If you're new, if you've at it for a while, if you're alumni: Gold is HERE!
