Creating a User Profile: Millennial Mom
I used that workbook well, what we mentioned that we would give you the exercises and were put form I use that as my agenda and I also use it as I gave it to everybody in the end session so they usually might write stuff in it sometimes they don't but the point is that they feel like it's participatory they also feel like there's value and you know, it's fun people like to coloring books you know you're giving them something to do most of the time the process is so thick on dh so like nebulous and like you don't want to give them too much processed stuff actually like not even steve agenda's out which I almost did for your first session you like when I'm not gonna have the agenda but I'm like some point um but you have to give it you have to give an agenda yeah but keep it broad and loose all right so here's the next one so who do we want to do next? Mom mom awesome how let's give her a name first name give your name from millie and mom marcia there we go. Marsha marsha marsha that way...
avery jim's our host all right, no more you got beat on the much of the way that's harsh alright sofia avery okay, okay finn fans good and finn for girl already than finn yeah hey, that is it's a millennial name I like it let's just weigh can always change it no last name avery avery rates lovett very nice and she could have a paper company user type millenium mom way whatever the age ranges for millennials up to thirty five over twenty something okay she's maybe late twenties she's definitely younger than thirty one thirty one nobody's having kids in their twenty's okay, so she's like thirty one thirty two thirty two kids just a two young kids too young kids okay? And, uh husbands name sam finn and sam there you go. Three letter means great what does she do? Part time h are excellent part time hr thank you very much. Um sam does what sounds like a developer. Yeah he's in technology so one of the questions that always comes up is where we're coming up with these folks. The teams are already put together some customer profiles so I've reviewed them we know what they are that's one if you don't have that already which in most cases you will there'll be data they'll be researched every surveys so there's a bunch of places for data here you want to extract it from them so they're the resource is where the conduits of the data and for the most part of it's a good business person they know their stuff I mean, if the person doesn't know their customer there is a problem in the company and you know you're there in the room because there's a problem so I recently facilitated a company with all the top level brass ceo cr oh like a public company and the ceo says something to the degree of eau wow really empathize with the problems of the customer had that told me something where the company was and that they are in the transition that they need to really understand their customer better and their messaging them their position that's a big insight how well you know your customers so back to millennial mom part hr part time hr sam's a developer what's the challenge is that having they probably combined make a hundred and twenty kids okay pre kindergarten so it's like three and four foreign to foreign two one two right cleaner be more specific spend more time on this don't do what I do here um story what other challenges so they both have used technology for almost you know for a cz long as they can remember they really grew up with it in a way that are single dad and manager mom did not as much got you so they're natives they're natives this's for them giving their kids crayons on the table is giving their kids that that's my phone this's swiveling crafts for them my love that raid in sight eh so what will we call that we'll say devices equals crayons you cannot just ban away this, you get a huge appetite for content, so they consume a lot of content, consume lots, whatever the challenge is that they're having what is good, how do they keep the pipeline full? Because their kids are consuming a lot of maps, maybe even more so than tv, some streaming tv, but they don't need a new way to navigate it. I like that, so they're the top of user that when the show runs out there like existential, thanks after being, yeah, because christina is more attempted to just shut the device down. And so she's, you know, thirty minutes a day where, as thin it is, two hours a day might be happening, and she's not conflicted about that. She isn't so this much for these air more, they consume more so that's an interesting issue, so there's volume in that issue and their kids are rapidly changing. So no, the four year old now thinks that the the game he played last week is for babies and needs new stuff because he's headed to kindergarten, the mean streets of kindergarten that's a good one. Now he wants to watch, like, mean streets, way inappropriate, but they're still concerned about quality so there's less concerned about quantity, but they care about you know that their kids are learning for example from agent stuff and I like that and fit and thin shares a lot and play groups with what her kids are watching him playing such she's always wanting new ideas in a way to tell her peer group the ideas that she's seeing successful I love that that's a great one like she wants to get uh consensus is that consensus is recommendations basically from her peer group blow it okay, great. So let's talk about some of the needs that they have based on that so you know they consume a lot they need to keep the pipelines full, they need to wrap it they have the kids who are changing an age quickly qualities their main concern things that age appropriate and they want new ideas from their peer group notice how I just re captain before we go into the next one so needs all right, so what do they need in order to do that in order to do those things feet of content frequent feed that's an important one frequent feed four minutes to go thank you very much. Sure, what else they need, they need feedback on the content back back on apartments from experts from experts perfect thank you. You know, clarify like I didn't understand that so clarified good dig a little deeper excellent, what else? Flexibility to adapt as the kids either get older while the situation changes s o the filtration of the media that comes to them I call it adaptation with age maybe you can have an age slider or you could have some sort of mechanism or device that actually allows for the content to kind of adjust itself based on as a kid progresses you might put the birthday and it's doing it progressively itself that's kind of cool I like that so adaptation of age so two things one um I just inserted that idea as a potential right into it and you couldn't do that as you're going through the process because you want to articulate it so that it out and it's not because I'm not gonna write it anywhere but that's a cool idea that I just came up with although be cool, alright, so frequent feed feedback from experts adaptation of age what else give me some more? I think also input from their peer group they really trust there their fellow millennial parents what else are our other people our age doing? I like that a lot thank you so christina and david's kids are a little older and so they are really concerned that their kids like what they suggest it these guys are just looking for something that works for forty two year old so they need content think I gotta go up and go down they don't necessarily need everything perfect for the four year old and everything perfect for the two year old so they're solving more often for the clumping together scenario interesting the other guys are solving for that my nine year old better like it or else there's not going to take my original taste between age groups that is a pain in the ass okay, so that's a big issue that I just I red flagged that in my head and maybe vomiting them they're watching together is that what you mean lindsley like rather than them each you know the two year old doesn't have her own ipad just yet so she's watching in the back seat with her brother interesting so that's a big that's a big one so if you're planning on having kids twins well double the work but you kill a lot of birds one stomach so rapid changing kids quality concerns age appropriate give me two more give me more I think we've really gotten um yeah so this's good less frequent feeds feedback expert adaptations that these guys are probably a little more tv heavy I mean I feel like you have a thirty minute problem when you have young kids or just make dinner you don't have a two hour date night much programming blocks and slightly shorter but potentially even you to kind of like it so she wants the app teo help her manage what the kids are watching she's not wanting to spend a lot of time actually standing over them and doing it herself god so she wants almost like a remote control all she wants to do this like you know remote control she wants a helicopter it cool I love it thank you all right so let's do some solution so frequent feed feedback from experts adaptation to their age input from pierre's averaging taste programming blocks and remote control whatever some of the solutions for this for this needs these air actually becoming a little bit solution e like I'm actually writing them less it like the needs and more like so programming blocks is already so I'm actually breaking form a little bit here because the real problem or what they really need um here is a relative to basically she needs to be able to priest schedule a pre scheduled stuff that's actually really need programming blocks is a solution I hear the chimes um all right give me another two minutes on the clock or three similar idea with the playbook once options queued up for you so a cue which may be private hasn't been by like I've got multiple kids option so feed me really date feed that I work for both my kids got it so it's the ability to pivot on that so this is about average in taste uh feed of uh averaged I'll say that for now average content that doesn't sound too right, but we will know that it's relative to averaging so I'll call it a jj average content some thank you's smartphone as well because she's using the smartphone on play days at the parts marked for the dinner table we'll be good to know what device in the demographics she probably has a success or an iphone user and her husband is not her husband eases made both said they're both apple there and they're on their own apple family so six es and six something um feed, eh? So what you just said smartphone that's generalize thing and this is ap um input from pierce uh what was that? Like reviews from friends, friends, suggestions, recommendation playlist suggestions might also almost incorporate that into a self learning over time, their account needs to get smarter whether that's because of the input from their friends, the input from their family they put from the kid usage self learning account love that thank you way had a user describe this to us where especially with the young kids she just wanted to give a phone over and hit a button and said put in smart feed mode so that everything the child dealt with was pre approved on smart feed it wasn't that they had their own tablet it was they had their own smart fee but that she could make her stay her device safe for them so few variables that you should get him put the less the variables possible button it's now in smart feet mode that's interesting and it learns over time so it's almost like the easy button that staples yeah, okay, we know our interface one device and one ap one button smart feed yes, so I was just gonna add that when we talk about the type of content that they like that their kids are learning something getting something substantive out of it beyond just entertainment so one of the solutions needs to be providing them with recommendations that add some kind of educational the value they pick like like recommendations write their choice of what to focus on but for foreign a two year old it's developmentally that's actually really great. So recommendations so let's pick three of these real quickly so frequent feeds feedback from experts adaptation to their kids age input from pierre's averaging the taste from the different kids ages and kind of like a remote control again the need here that she wants what she needs is um um two to access and manage ah, from remote we'll call it that so that's what she needs and this is kind of like, well, basically a lot of these smart freed mode programming smartphone app kind of solves that so I would say that's one of them yeah, I know she doesn't want to have to deal with the active management during the session when they're watching, which once else would give me two more of those adaptation to age input from pierre's averaging tastes frequency breed with lots of content that's a content yeah hoops roland feedback adaptation from age adaptation for age okay, so short three one and you could use other ones. These are the top three there were choosing. Okay, so let's do three more here? Smart feed mode, self learning playlist feed of age average content. Well, obviously, if we did adaptation for age, we need that one frequent feed. I think that the playlist you know what? That playing this in the self learned a self learning playlist that's actually really good one on dh then uh, smartphone smart, smart feed mode that one. Okay, so one, two three so smart feed self learning playlist on an average feed so sor three things again, you can use the other ones we're prioritising using three one of the things one final, real quick insight on this is do this familiar with hackathons who's familiar with the hack a thon where you decide program and doing one weekend you guys probably seen them attended them participated in them imagine everywhere to build an app for an m v p in four days, that's, one of the things that I look at this exercise, is ask. You need to choose something quick that will be your wedge and that's, the only feature that you're the only features that you khun build and put it out and see what happens and then come back and iterated that's in my mind set that I have when I'm doing these now at a corporate level and at a client level that's more difficult. These lists are much longer. You can contain it to you. You can make this different. You can have these not be tempted. I love template in because it limits them out of space you have. But for the most part, you might actually have a lot more of these and there's, other prioritization techniques that you need to use, um, and how moving on. Thank you, ladies. Kind of applause for this next user, finn the millenium mom.

Great session. Covered a lot of information. Only suggestion for improvement was at the end, just giving a quick overview of the entire process again just to tie it all back together. Awesome info, well articulated, and very inspirational. Thank you!

Love this class and so glad I bought it. I'll be able to refer back to his lessons again and again. His work with an actual client is what really sets this class apart, having provided specifics on how to ask a client a question, how to get them down to what matters most and on and on! Can not express how valuable this will be for me. Thank you Jose and thank you Creative Live!

Loved it, big fan of Jose anyway but this is more comprehensive than the videos on youtube from Skool (or at least a deeper dive). Would be really useful if we could also download the slide deck for quick reference. Can this happen?
