Formula For Great Nature and Landscape Photographs

I'd like to give you my formula for what it takes to take great nature and landscape photographs and so these are the elements that you have tohave and there are very indifferent importance and we'll start off with the least important and that is probably the equipment that you use I could go out with a phone and I think I could take some very nice nature and landscape photographs now the better equipment I have will open up new doors into new opportunities and things and so there is a certain point where if I was looking at somebody's work, I would say, well, you need a sharper land so you need a wider lens or you need a better camera better fits your needs and so it's the least important but it's an obvious piece of the puzzle the next is your technique how do you work with that equipment? You can have two photographers with the exact same equipment, but one of them knows howto work it I very much think of cameras and lenses the whale a lot of people think about musical instruments, ...

you know you can have the finest musical instrument in the world, but if you don't know the great technique, you're not going to get a good result from it at all and so you do need to have all your basics and fundamentals down cold you just gotta have them clicking off very very simply next you do need to be in the right location I love the aspect that you could go up to your backyard and take photographs in nature and landscape but the fact of the matter is is that you will get tired of shooting in your backyard eventually and you're going to want to expand and you're gonna want to get out and I know I've explored my backyard pretty thoroughly and my city parks pretty thoroughly and don't go back to them from time to time but there are certain locations that are just gold mines of great photographs and this is why photographers continually head to yosemite national park because there is several different ecosystems there's so many different types of things you can shoot from wildlife a rock face to climbing wilder rock climbing there a lot of different things in the natural genre and there are really good locations and you kind of if photography was my drug I just need it bigger dose I needle city parks and how I need state parks and now I need you know, the national parks and then I want to travel abroad and go to some great locations and so you're kind of climb up this ladder of wanting to go to greater and greater places because there's just so many potentials there but he realized fish in that there are great photos put potentially around every corner the next thing is you need to be there at the right time if you do nature photography, you're gonna end up in the right place at the wrong time. Ah, whole lot of the time you need to be there when the light is right and that's usually what we're talking about timing, but timing runs further than just light it has to do with seasons the time of day as well as other events that were going on. And so this is why photographers kind of keep track of locations when is this going to be good it's going to be better in the fall, or is it going to be better in the springtime? And then finally, once you have all those elements in, then it really kind of comes down to your personal style and flair and that's your composition and there's a lot of different ways to work with this with the different types of lenses and how you place your subject in there. And if we look at all of these, this is today's talk. This is what I'm going to be talking about, and this is what I'm going to be going through.

I got this course for free thru View Bug and John Greengo is an amazing teacher. He explains nature photography with a sense of ease and he really makes you want to get out there and keep trying to get THE photo, that the day you go out there may not be the right day or right time, but to keep trying and you'll get it! He also encourages you to get out there to the same places other great photographers have been and make it your own, to get your own experiences. Yes, I recommend this course and any courses he instructs, I hope to take another one of his courses in the near future!

Very instructive! And John Greengo is a great teacher. He knows very well how to go deeply without putting you in a difficult situation. I have followed almost all of his courses, and this one is one of the best! Don't hesitate if you are a beginner or even and advanced photographer interested in Nature photography.
