Class Introduction
This will be a very colorful session because we're doing color correction in Adobe Premier Pro. So let's take a look at what we're gonna be covering in this course. We're gonna start off, for those people who have, attention deficit with color correction, which is basically, if you're watching this class and you just wanna know in five minutes how you can fix a shot, and then you're just will wonder off, I'm gonna show you that. So just hang on for just the first few minutes. But for everybody else who's patient, and wants to learn about color correction, we're gonna talk about understanding color, what color is, so you can know how to control it. We're gonna then talk a little bit about some of the production things you should do, so that your color correction workflow is a lot easier. You don't wanna necessarily just shoot willy-nilly and find out that you shot really poorly, and you can't color correct him. Next to go, we have understanding scopes, those are those magical things tha...
t confuse everybody. As a matter of fact, the most important thing, and this is again for the people with ADD, this is the purpose of scopes. You're sitting in your edit suite, and you have the producer behind you, and they're talking. So you bring up the scopes and you go, "Wait," 'cuz they have no idea how to read a scope, and they're just getting really quiet. So that's really what scopes are for. But we'll use them to color correct. And then we're just gonna dig in and we're gonna look at a variety of different images, and how we can correct it using the lumetri color effect, as well as some of the other color tools in the effects panel.

I've been filming/editing language learning videos recently and thought "The free tutorials on YouTube are cool, but I wish I could pay an expert to just clearly explain white balance/color correction to me. How to confidently read the scopes, etc". Lo and behold, a few days later this course appears out of nowhere! It delivered all the basic stuff I wanted, clearly explained. I particularly liked the encouraging advice - if you get 95% there (regarding getting the 'perfect' balance), be happy with that 95% and keep moving forward! Thank you!

Nice succinct class. Would be good to have a follow up more advanced class or more examples but this is certainly good for beginner, and more experienced editors that want to deepen their knowledge. (I don't consider myself a beginner as have been color editing for a few years but still learnt a bit here - having previous experience with the lumetri panel will be useful)

It is a very very good class for beginners. It gives you a very good overview of the color correcting tools available and empower you. If you are advanced in color corrections and/or grading this may not be for you. Thanks Abba.
