My Menu
The final tab in the menus system is MY MENU, and this is a great place for you to spend some time because this is where you get to choose what you wanna see in the menu system. Now, clearly there are a lot of items in the menu, and most people don't need to go to but a small fraction of those menu settings. And so this is where you get to choose which menu settings you see on a quick and easy basis. And so what you gonna wanna do in here is you gonna wanna choose a tab, and one option is RECENT SETTINGS, which is not bad, it just shows you places that you've been recently in the menu system. A better option is MY MENU, and this is where you gonna have more control about adding items in here. So what you can do in here is you can add specific items, and you can change the order of it. So let's go ahead and take a look on my camera, and let's go ahead and create a customized MY MENU. So I'm gonna hit the MENU button on here, and I'm gonna get down to the MY MENU tab. I'm gonna come over...
to adding items. Actually, let's go back to choosing tab first off, and I'm gonna choose MY MENU, make sure that's selected. I'm gonna go up to Add items. So what items do I want to have in the camera? So I'm gonna skip the PLAYBACK MENU, let's go to the PHOTO SHOOTING MENU, and types of things that I would wanna choose on a regular basis would be something like Image quality. That sounds pretty good, we'll save that. Let's add another item, go back into the PHOTO SHOOTING MENU, and let's see what else we might wanna have in here on a regular basis. And Auto bracketing set, maybe we wanna change the way we do auto bracketing, so we'll set that, and let's add one more item in here. Let's find this in the MOVIE ShOOTING MENU, and maybe here we're changing between 4K and HD. So we wanna make that change very easy, and so we're gonna add that and set that as okay. So now we have three items in here, we have the Frame size, Auto bracketing and Image quality. Maybe I wanna change the ranking of these systems. Maybe I shoot a lot of video, and, oh actually that is at the top, maybe I don't shoot a lot of video, and I wanna select that one, and I wanna move it down to the bottom of the list. And so now Auto bracketing, let's move Image quality up higher 'cause that's more important, and so now I have it exactly in the order that I want. And so then I'm just gonna go left and left and back out of this, and so now when it comes time to press the MENU button, it's gonna immediately go to MY MENU, and things are ordered exactly as I want 'em. So go find those half-dozen items or so that you use on a regular basis. Get 'em put in there, order 'em exactly the way you use them, and then you're not gonna have to dive and dig through that menu system trying to find where they are. And so it just makes working with the camera a little bit faster and a little bit easier, which leaves you more time for shooting photos.

Helps you master the camera controls very quickly. I'm glad I took the course. Without it, I'm sure it would have taken me years to know and use the full power of this camera. Great Course. Highly recommend.

Great, great course. Could not be any clearer on what to know, what to do, and in all, making understanding my camera a fun thing! Well, well, worth that cost. A steal really!!

This is a great course! I recently bought a D7500 and was somewhat stymied by the large number of different possible settings and the several hundred page user manual and menu guide. This course covers the vast majority of what I need to know and in a reasonable amount of detail. I especially liked the material on menus as he went through most of them in detail. Additionally all the slides shown in the course are available in pdf as well as several pages detailing the authors recommended settings. I highly recommend, especially given the $24.00 special offering for this.
