Shift Your Thinking About Publicity
Today we're going to talk about pr for crafters, but this really could apply to anyone who has a product and wants to get pr so I want to start off with showing you this image someone you see this what do you think of if any of you want to share trade shows yes, anything else overwhelming overwhelming excited yes, it is confusing, confusing. Okay all right, so those are definitely all good observations. The reason I put this up here and I started with this is because this is a craft show you write a trade show and what happens when the doors to the trade show or the craft show opens are that tons of people come rushing in hopefully ready too buy a product with their wallets out stop by stop by your booth and they're pretty much ready to buy but that's not always the case when we open up our website, right? How many of you have launched the website and the first minute that your website launched you had this sort of experience, right? But that just does not happen. So this was myself we...
bsite and I really was hoping for this when I launched it because I put so much time and energy just like you without a craft show into doing this, so that didn't happen, but with publicity you can actually get that craft show traffic to your website so how cool that be to have tons of people coming in ready to buy your products that's pretty cool right? So today we're going to talk about how you can shift you're thinking about pr so you can get that traffic directly to to your website so does this describe you? I don't have time to take on something else I'm already feeling overwhelmed with everything else lots of heads nodding what about I have tried it before and it hasn't worked no one ever got back to me or responded to my e mails I can relate to that as well and what about I'm shy and I can't imagine being interviewed on tv or speaking in front of people almost everyone is nodding their heads as well and I don't have connections and you need to know people in this business I know I felt that too and a few more things that might describe some of you in the audience or online I don't have time to take on something else I'm already feeling overwhelmed in my business oh all right I'm too small to be featured in national magazines what if I can't meet demand? You know a lot of us especially with handmade products we've definitely feel this way and I just don't know how to do it and what to say yes, all of your heads are nodding as I'm describing some of these scenarios and these are all definitely things that I've personally felt when it comes to pr, and almost everyone I've worked with has felt the same way as well, and you might even feel like you're bothering them when you're emailing a blogger and editor, you might be thinking, I know they're so busy, I just don't want to bother them with my pitch, right? So what I want you to do is shift your thinking, and instead of looking at it as you're bothering someone or you're pitching them or you are taking up their time, what if you shift your thinking and think about it as you're helping someone do their job more efficiently by sharing relevant products and stories with them? Does this sound a little better than the other? Yes, it does, and you really are helping a new editor or a blogger do their job a lot easier if you are pitching them relevant product at the right time, which we're going to talk about today. So publicity is not about you begging them to write about you and it's about building a mutually beneficial relationship between you and the magazine editor or the blogger that you're working with and it's really about providing value because you are giving them something, hopefully that their readers are going to be interested in so how many of you now feel like? Ok, you've shifted your mind. Set a little bit about publicity. And now you want to learn how to actually do it. All right, good.

This class was so jam packed with useful and current information. It deals with issues that did not even exist as recent as last year. I made drastic changes to my social media outlets and forums, that have greatly improved my fan base. Andreea is an amazing roll model, teacher, and example of success.

I watched all three days of this course, and it has helped my mom and I in so many ways. We started a soap business in late 2014, and nothing we did worked. So we are currently regrouping, and with all the information we learned from Andreea we feel so much more confident this time around. Anyone looking to do great things with their company needs to see these 3 courses. Creative Live great decision on having Andreea on here.
