Then I want to move on to card making let me just take a second to clean this up you have any other questions coming in if we could tell people again the hashtag is ct which stands for close to my heart right creative live and yeah so you can go on to twitter, instagram, facebook and use the hashtag and will be drawing people from there and that first question was what is it that you oh gosh now you put it is what may be a memory that yeah, what memory do you need to record you know we've joked around a little bit about the the initial c team age but because close to my heart is such a long name we used the team h a lot especially in social media and so consultants have teased that see teammates stands for can't tell my husband how much I spend on my crafting supplies but it actually stands for close to my heart so there you go all right ok help me set up thank you so much we are going to use this stamp set again we're going to show another great use for that and we are going to use I'...
ve got him all filed away here here we go this charming cascades with that heart image on that okay? We're going to make two different cards on this project to just give you a taste for card making all right, all those supplies out, everyone in the audience has those ok, let's talk for just a second about card makers themselves. We've talked about how we have all these different profiles, so who is a card maker? Card makers are people you always your hand, they are all card makers, we have audience full of them that's awesome! So we also know that card making all of our profiles aren't you have to identify with one in that who you are, you can obviously crossover if you love the art and the craft of all these different profiles, then you are perfect for close to my heart, really? But really there are so many different people who enjoy different areas of the craft and card makers we have found are a true love group that enjoy the process of creating a card you're giving a card to someone and it's important to you the whole experience of putting that card together to make their day. Whether that's just in the process of putting together some a card that simple and easy but still handmade or the whether you spend an hour putting together and paper piecing and layering all these images, we know that carmakers are true artists they love the art of creating, and so it doesn't matter how much time it takes it's about the experience and what you're giving to that person and really the card is part of the gift itself, so even if sometimes it is, you're just giving the card for sympathy or for a thank you, but sometimes it goes with the birthday president and the card is means as much to the person who's receiving it as the gift itself. And so we know that card making is a beautiful process that allows people to really express their creativity and their love through giving the cards and in this day and age where we're so tied into sending a text to say happy birthday or getting an email or facebook status update typing it's so nice and I mean, you can probably all testify for the times that you received a card in the mail you physically open your mailbox and pulled out that card and thought someone really took the time to tell me how much they love me and I think that's so amazing and still so relevant in today's world it probably even more so now because it's becoming less of the norm and so it makes them more and more special and it is one of those things you get an email or a text on that goes away, but your card we'll always be a treasure to you, and so card making is an awesome way to express your creativity, so we're going to make two cards here let's, start with our thankyou card. This is what it looks like. Finished for those of you at home. So I've got a card base here. We saw white daisy and colonial white. So white and an off white card option for a base card. You can also cut down card stock for that, but these come with cards and envelopes. So here have got me envelope a cz. Well, I've got two bases there were going to use just the one, and then I also have this piece of fundamental card stock. This is just a nice slate. Gray. You could use either side because these have a resist pattern on one side and then a printed pattern on the other. So I'm going to start by. I don't want to hear this down first. I want to stamp the word. Thank you before I stamp that down and I probably didn't have you grab your thank you set out. Let me find that really fast for you. Here it is. A thousand. Thanks. So you could use there's. Really? Not a thousand in here. But you can use any of these that you want. So we're going to take that thank you, image. Again this one's kind of hard to keep straight so I like to just drop it on I'm going to tell you one more stamping technique really quickly you because these are acrylic and flexible you could always art your stamp to look at this I could make that go around my flower just by taking the sentiment and tweaking it on my block so I could just have stamped my thank you right there and move that around so when you want it straight drop it down to pick it up but when you want to just tweak that I'm going to stand the thank you in black ink so I'm using my carter my actual paper here as a placeholder so I can see where that goes lying that up and then I'm just going to move it out of the way and stamp my sentiment at the top then you could hear your card base hey so that is the base of our card then we're just going to use some of those stamping techniques that we have been learning to build this together oh I think I want my pomegranate incas well I just want to load up some colors with this project here all right I'm going to use this square piece of paper that we've given you and then I'm going to start with this large flower image and when the season that up a little bit and you can stamp this background and ruby inc actually think I want to go opposite yes I want to go pomegranate and then ruby I should have written that down we're gonna build the pomegranate base and then the ruby as my accent color again these colors just go so well together that you can layer and highlight with one another so there's my base image and then instead of doing second generation that time I'm going to stamp just in a different color a darker intensity color so let's take that outline that goes on top of that and double check which color you're going into I've done that mistake a few times in life go ahead and stamped that directly on top of that image so you can see that I've used the lighter shade underneath as my base and in the shade accent color is it just a little deeper then I'm going to take the next one and use sorbet ing we're going to go back to that flower that we did on our first stamping project and now you're all pros and so this will be easy I'm going to stamp sorbet in second generation so stand off to your desk pad first stamp on here project and these were just going to cut out we call that fussy cutting when you actually sit and cut out your stamp images and then I'm going to just take some of that pomegranate go over my flower there we're gonna build one more. I'm going to start with got honey and saffron two yellows that I'm going to be mixing together here and we're going to use this medium size flower season this one up it's brand new we're going to stamp out honey, you can also tell us stamp as banks try, the color becomes truer in it and it just turns into a really beautiful shade. So when it's wet, they look a little often and when they dry there just a perfect shade there and then I took the saffron and layer that with the honey so again, just a nice little accent to put that together. So then I'm gonna let you cut that out in just a minute so we can move on to just a few more techniques. This is how the card comes together. I simply cut these out this I've been here with a little bit of foam tapes so that you get just a little a little bit of ray's on that, and then we've got this other beautiful card. So just to show you a nice variety, I've got this card that I'm going to layer got kraft paper, got some pomegranate being card stock and some white daisy, and then look how fun this came together, I'm gonna let you work on this while we talk through some other parts of part making, but do you see how I just took two hearts cut out of glitter paper? This stuff is the bomb, it adds. So, like I could just do that and, like it's, adorable is, you know, it's like it's, so catching. Yeah, so I just took these two hearts. Cut them in half. That also lets you make a second card, because you'll have the other half of the heart to make another card and layered those on these air adhered with some foam tape this hard background. While you're working on that, I can show you where it came from. Is this heart image right here from the cask or the charming cascades? And again, I did that in the pomegranate ink, but in second generation, so that's just a nice, subtle background to pull that together. Stamped you are loved and dubbed, held my pieces, and then just added some more sparkle with with the sequins.

I have been stamping, making cards, for 10+ years but only found out about ctmh last year. I love, love, love your clear stamps. They are great to use and easy to store. These classes inspire me and get me all excited again about making cards. I just recently got a circuit, so much to learn. I've got to get me a ctmh cartridge!!!
