In the Field: Shooting Story Shots
You can't really see the brand as much, but it's a brilliant storyline shot. (chuckles) All right! Whenever you're ready! (wind whooshing) (camera clicking) (photographer laughing) (camera clicking) (photographer laughing) Did your feet blow? What? Did your feet blow? No, it's just a long jump. Oh, man. It's a cool photo at least. Bro, you landed like halfway in the river! I told you! So we're running a bit of an audible here. As you could tell, we can't clear it with the jump. So instead of having that as the shot, I wanted to have Mason throw the product we're shooting, throw the backpack across to Nathaniel. And yeah, it's just a good little compromise shot, I guess. All right, whenever you're ready. (camera clicking) Nice. Throw it back. (camera clicking) (photographer laughing) That's so fun. (woman giggles) It looks like summer out here. Yeah. (giggling) So I got this shot earlier. You guys might have saw me. So it's this shot right here. Basically, I'm gonna fram...
e you guys just standing right in that little zone. It's a big old triangle, Cool. so let's get it. I'll just have- Are we gonna be just past the tree or are we gonna be- I'll just probably have you walk under it a few times, and just all three of you next to each other as well. Any particular order? Break. So like, such an album cover. (camera clicking) Changing it to f4. Make sure I'm not blowing out anything. That way a little bit! Yeah, that's sick! Action! (chuckles) (camera clicking) All right, stop! Go back! (chuckles) That looked good, though! Just rinse and repeat! I don't see any problem with that, but I'll probably just run another take for safety. So I just took two composition options there. One of them is kind of framing the triangle of trees in the center and one of them is framing the trio of the homies in the center. I don't really know which one I like better, but I guess we'll see in post. So, that looked good! So you guys saw my fantastic drawing of you guys running? No, but that's great. Beautiful. Thank you, thank you. Basically, what I think we'll do, is we'll just walk around, or walk along the water, and just don't get hit by the waves. And just have fun, like funny reaction, kind of reacting to what's happening. Yeah, like a playful kind of mood. What do you want for spacing? Spacing? Honestly, you'll just be running from the wave, so just kinda free-for-all it. And I'm just gonna be rapid-firing these shots and, you know, if you take 200, one of 'em will probably be good. That's kinda how this shot goes, so yeah. Cool. Sweet! Set break. (gentle music) (waves crashing) There's a lot of birds flying over us right now. I wanna be shooting up, getting a product shot of the jacket and maybe some backpacks. I'm gonna just do it, 'cause it's happening right now. (photographer laughs) (camera clicking) Mason and Sonora, stay kind of close, like that distance from each other. Yeah. (camera clicking) (gentle music) (people laughing) (camera clicking) I just wanna get a big, wide shot of it. Mason's standing on a rock. (photographer laughing) (camera clicking) This is great. This doesn't even feel like work. (waves crashing) (gentle music) (camera clicking)
