Actually, we were hoping that hilary could come on. Hillary scott is one of my another dear bright that I was had the fortune of photographing her wedding, but hillary just contacted us and basically said that she had to get on a plane she's boarding the plane this very second her best friend had a baby and she's flying out to go there, so I did the next best thing. I managed to get ahold of the coordinator who did that event and did another event with me as well, which is kellie pickler is event the image that you've seen now her name is angela profit and another dare dare dare human being that I'm so happy to have in my life I love you welcome uh and here you are this is creative live you're on with the world right now, so they're probably gonna have questions from all around the world with respects to what you do. What you looking for? How you helped a client to find a photographer? I don't know what other questions if there's, anybody here, I have some students here that are alive ...

that would make maybe ask you questions as well so if anybody here has a question for angela, that'd be great anybody have one? I'll take it my name's john see, my question is as a photographer trying to work with coordinators. What should we bring to help you make your job easier? I think communication and making sure that the coordinator understands the way you like to shoot is really important, especially he'd never worked for simple for. So getting together fine mapping out the coordinator, understand photographer, understand? That way you guys work on a timeline for a brad everything it's smooth sailing? Yep, that's great. Do we have questions from the internet? We'd always have questions from the internet. So the question is, as faras, the people that come to you looking for wedding photographers is there. Is there one like single most important quality that they're looking for when they are looking for a photographer? And what I think, a lot of rides, I don't want it to feel like a photo shoot where it always have to be on camera. So having someone that when really catch for the scene in a photo journalistic way and not say, post your post your smile here and just captured his story is really what there was before, that we're making our way, and they don't feel like, wow, that's kind of what I've been saying for the last two days, right? It's, not a photo shoot it's a wedding it's a story that you have to document and yes, there are parts of it where we actually photographed him, but you can remember how quick I kind of moved through those post moments, right? Yeah, and that I think what kelly and hillary both loved so much was that I was able to tell their story without really interrupting them and that they could enjoy their friends and their family throughout the day. Yeah, and if I had never worked with the job before, and if I just with someone looking at wedding pictures and I saw kelly and hillary's pictures, I would have thought of those air beautifully posed in the winds perfect. They probably had a big fan blowing on him in the water, and everything was perfect, and but the shots none of them will post whatsoever judges stood behind saying that his thing and I saw him with my own eyes, and you would have thought that everything of one of them was posed with lots of problems, but it wasn't like that at all. You're really what you seek weapons and how you captured this story is so important, agreed, agreed, it's two o'clock oh, wow, really e think I say I had a question. Isaiah, um, hi, thank you for doing this, uh, do you have, like, certain photography, is that you? Favor towards certain clients like you say, oh, you'd be good for this photographer do you kind of pitch it that way? Or you just say here's five, pick one yeah, we're naked and we're we're I don't have a list per se, but I certainly obviously worked with different photographers know their person healthy, you know what? My car and you get that for that would work everything before just to get them off. I don't like them not like you have options, but for talking a time we'll say you were for me and how what do I have to do? You pay, you know, funny thing about me then are happy you don't have a penny, I you know, so it really is a relationship about making you happy, you know, if I just happened for someone new to guard them are being thanks for a job, I'm gonna refer, but photographer, you're slipping their picture and you can get good things online, but you're you don't know what you're getting for cans on with that. So thank you. As a person who just recently named to a new area, how would I go to a wedding plane or event planner and introduced myself and my work to them what's the best way to do that? Is it cold call or showing up or would you prefer to work with the vendor beforehand? The photographer? Well, it's hard. I mean, I'm not gonna live hard, it is door and your people no plainer called. I'm like we have a meeting to get together. They often do with been used in that crate. It's just you don't have thompson time, so we're really local organization like I live in a way that we have an organization here, actually, couple that it's, a networking group that meets once a month pretty consistently, and I try to go on that's my network with the vendors and for them to get chummy and for meeting. So really our point or local organizations, and that way you approach that planner or a crutch that vinnie, they might have seen your name or your card where your website on the organizations validates you be further that you're trying to get into the community, right? Okay, thank you. You're a good answer. Questions from the internet, from p to carrie, who lives an ended oakland she's, wondering what was your first experience like with joe? You know, I really didn't know what to think because one of my cons previously worked with him, and so that brad, how much catherine tow, how much she loved you, and we were interviews and other photographers for kelly cow and she's like I really like this because his demeanor and his pictures were perfect he wasn't bossy, you know, working with celebrities I didn't know what what to expect but he's the most down the earth really person who is so passionate about what he does and loves getting up and doing it every day and just serving clients and that's one thing when you work with that caliber plant that some people change their head big but so is off like I love it that everyone puts him it's it's an amazing experience like I'm really, really lucky because people around the world from either like you you've got to work with joe oh my god she's not here and I've got to see him before too in miami last year and that was it I mean he's an incredible speaker and incredible teachers well, thank you I love you. You have a great bubbly personality she's amazing she's amazing is one of my favorite coordinators she's wait that smile like that she's incredible. Nothing fazes her and that's the sign of an amazing coordinators one that just gets things done and behind the scene if something unravels, takes care of business and comes out with a smile like that and she does that all the time client never knows that she just knows she's having amazing experience and that's angela so you did talk about you love his personality when they asked when we asked what was your first experience with joe like so clock twelve eighty nine asked what? What makes you recommend a photographer do client mohr is that the personality is that their ability is that they're crossed what is the main factor? Well, I think personality and the type of work they produce because every photographer's different somewhere more traditional summer, more artistic so really how it goes usually I tell the client, check out this website or check out these pictures tell me the style that you're looking for and what you like and some sometimes they don't know, so I'll get online with them and say, do you like this picture? Do you like that picture? Okay? And then once we throw you down, then knowing the personality of each of those different photographers as well as you know, cause I can't say it well, you know, I really think these people would be a good fit, you should go interview them and I really, really tried, you know, stay out of it and I like the routing for you they really need to make decision and usually rarely do I have plans I can't decide like, can you help me make a decision once they meet a few people, they just quit and so I would say personality is important but the first thing they're going to look at is the work before it even gets to the personality exactly alexander from costa rica is wondering as a coordinator do you sometimes feel trapped between the photographer's time and your time schedule and me personally like how do you balance that out? You know not really I do something that I think every planners should do but to communicate with all of the vendors thirty days in advance at least the photographer the videographer so they understand the entire weekend schedule and having a timeline and force you have to be flexible but just so the video people and the photography people underst stand all that has to go on in the background that way they're able tto look at their timeline and assess what's going on a lot of times we're working with variables like the weather like we have no control when we know when the sun's rising and setting but if we have an outdoor wedding at the beach and a little sprinkle comes you know that put this behind you just kind of have to go with the flow but I feel like if you're a good season photographer you could be anywhere in the world and you get ugly back shop ever but as long as you know that you're there to just capture that story and the people's expressions that that's really all that matters cool and well I have a question from david soto photography what's the worst thing that a photographer khun dio that can affect their opportunities to work in your next wedding? Well um shoot a wedding where they don't know how to appropriately use their camera uh I have a brad he got all of our pictures back and the lighting wasn't that great where we were and all the pictures were so stinking dark now I didn't recommend this person and she hired them before they hard me and we met and talked about they even came to the and even checks it out because they had never shot there before that really shouldn't matter in the first place so really like knowing howto work your equipment you know, getting a nice camera for christmas and then thinking the women industry is like a trillion dollars that you could just become a photographer for fun like you're dealing with people's most most important names are y so you have to take it seriously and I'm even had a photographer open up they're nice cases and see which class should I use? I'm like I don't even know where my memory uh quitting you gotta know how to work your equipment and you gotta have backup you know your batteries dot I mean, gosh joe we had an air condition leak and it's some of his camper that almost got wet and but he was like always found like I've got some backups and I can shoot with this one it's no big deal so really having backup in a place too is in for that it's awesome do we want maybe one or two more questions and yeah another one jenny for belly is went from ohio ass you mentioned communication and this might seem like a basic question but can you discuss the hierarchy at a wedding too often I have seen the coordinator versus photographer power play while they both juggling the families whose word is final and how do you handle people trying to step over their bounds? Well and this is just you talking from the way I do it but honestly I'm not really even around too much when that photographer is focusing on the broad in the green the less people hovering around them the morning actually making act so and again I think that that the comfort level of me leaving and going tio set up whatever anything set up is building that report with them a month before the wedding and understanding how they work and december I have really big families so say hand a photographer this long list with all these names you know, which is great but you know, you could just say all family, you know, stay behind that great and really the photographers usually have an assistant that helps get make sure all those pictures happen and of course that they don't know if I need my help I'm there you know to help us well but the pictures at that's the photographer's realm and you know the decor and all the logistics is my realm but I don't ever yeah and I know some coordinators do its power it's like hey, we're having a secret dinner and my food's getting cold because you're taking my bridegroom so I think just it's all about communication in the forefront and then going with the flow of rolling with whatever is going on and what may pop up that day it's just communicating and then understanding how each other work I think is so important you totally agree hundred percent maybe one more question oh, you want to take another one? Okay, just one well everyone has said you look so young and when did you when did you become a coordinator that's a question from never too late. I have a really good tea. Uh this is my eleventh here and I'm in my early thirties so I'm not twenty that's great that people think that uh but uh I I grew up in the wedding industry in this summer's my family would have been you and I never ever thought already wedding wherever I went to school to be a psychologist and worked in mental health and after I did that for a year and I thought this is not like there's no light at the end of the tunnel and I cannot help these people because they were truly sick and there's no light so I started helping it church really just on a voluntary basis and then people started after me go around it's a different churches and then you know then it was like from nashville and memphis which is like three hours away then it was like when you go to another country can you go to an island? You know it's really just been word of mouth and I think the most important thing is is following up and following through and the only thing I do different is doing exactly what I say I'm going to do and more so so many things can fall through the cracks there's a lot of us did that a lot of teach across I'm gonna really ain't in a good light on just stay positive like there's nothing when you work in a mental hospital and you have people jumping out of windows in front of you um life's not that bad we meet when your button breaks on your dress like I could sew it that's no big deal really not that big so when you have that month that in that background you can really maintain impalas that they've been fine about the situation out of anything and everything thanks so much and I know you're you're at a wedding today and you're like stuck yourself in a room somewhere to quickly come on skype I love you thank you so much for doing that I miss you I miss you I'll talk to you soon okay, but we really appreciate you chai ming in and giving us a little insight as to what you're looking for is a coordinator. Thanks again thanks. What a pleasure. Yeah, but did you notice that she used the word experience right? The experience uh she talked about the things we talked over the last couple of days about knowing your equipment, having backup, having my two flashes I never told her any of this stuff, but it made sense in that from for her comes from experience having photographers actually not have any of those things and just jumping in thinking that khun do it and that's why this three days and all the other three days that you've seen through creative live and that you're going to see it has to do with the fact that this is a education that is so important because you are invited in the most important days of their lives and if something god forbid happens that needs to be handled and you don't know how because you've never been taught or you've never experienced it and you haven't investigated any of these potential possibilities then, wow, what what, what, what happened with that poor bride who had images come back and they were all dark? What a horrible experience. How do you, how do you rectify that? You can't, you can't, and that's why I tell all the new beginners, you know, there is no silver bullet. It requires earnest study. It requires experience, it requires learning, and you'll get there. But if there is nothing that I can give you now, that tomorrow is going to make you ten grand a gig. It's not gonna happen that way, but be patient, you know, and this self discovery is great, and she talked about that a little bit, too about, you know, not just the experience, but joe knows exactly what to do with this data.
