Crisis Can Equal Opportunity
crisis is certainly painful. And also crisis always presents us with some opportunities if we're willing to set down the the emotion and the story of the struggle and open up open up sort of a portal for transformation. So every single crisis that we experience in our business or in our lives is presenting us with an opportunity to make some changes. And I want to invite you to start trying start shifting into the mindset that the crisis that we've just been through may even be offering you the opportunity to make changes that you've always wanted to make in your business and maybe maybe offering you the opportunity to make changes that you wanted to make for years but couldn't make because you didn't have the time to make them or the energy to make them or the courage to make them. Let this crisis be a bit of a in an inspiring, inspiring or forcing or motivating function or energizing function or clarifying function. Okay, and in order to do that, you're going to need to shift into th...
e worldview that every thing is seasonal, every there are seasons for everything in this life, things end in life. And when things end, that doesn't necessarily equate failure. Right? So I invite my clients often to take what we call the farmers worldview, which is just that the things in life are seasonal, that when we see things that aren't working or aren't producing that in the way that we want them to do, we can prune them, we plant seeds, we know that there's a time for planting seeds, there's a time for cultivating the seeds, there's a time for letting their rain and the sun come and help us build. There's a time for letting the natural um growth dynamics of our communities and our customers and their demands help pull us forward and create momentum in our business. There's a time to stop doing the things that weren't working and there's a time to start planting new seeds again. And the thing that I always like to remind my entrepreneurial clients about farmers is that farmers know not to dig it up too soon, right? Farmers don't plan to seed um come you know, and expect that the seed has grown into a full blown field that can be harvested the next day. Farmers plant the seed and cultivated and allow for time and other things to happen and to mature that seed into the plant that they're trying to grow. So I want us to take this farmer's worldview to take the view that it's that things can end without it being failure. And in fact, I want you to, I want to invite you to take the exact opposite point of view, that there is some success, there is some clarity, some skill, some relationships, some wisdom, some insight that is to be gleaned from every single part of your experience as an entrepreneur even, and especially from the things that felt really painful or disappointing or felt like they were failures. So as you start to shift into that mindset, you'll find yourself, you know, sort of grieving and beginning to let go of your struggle stories and moving into a place where you can begin to sort of metabolize and distill out. What do I want to keep from this experience? What am I willing to prune and let it just go, let it be in the past, right? And what are the new stories I'm going to start telling As you hear yourself, tell the old struggle story over and over again, you'll start to shift and move into a new empowered feeling way of telling the story to yourself about what's happened in the last season of your business. So that's what I invite you to do in these exercises.

I was lucky enough to have my business grow through the pandemic, but loved and appreciated this class asking me to take a moment to reflect and realign with the lessons I've learned, and reconsider my goals for the future. Really lovely short class!
