How To Add Interactive Page Transitions In Adobe InDesign CC
Hi there in this video, we're going to look at how to do page transitions. Okay so when I click on this and use my arrow keys it pushes to the next page, click again move to the next page. Okay so I'm using pushes there, this one here. Another push and then oh, comb. Not allowed to use comb and you're not able to use blinds case. But let's have a little look at how to do page transitions in in design. Okay, so the first thing we need to do with page transitions, I guess one of the cons is that the pdf has to open in full screen for this to work. So it doesn't work for everything. Works really good if you're replacing this, if you're using interactive pds to replace a power point presentation because that will be used in full screen. You can force it to go in full screen and you can do all your fun page transitions. Alright, so to do it, let's first of all switch out at the moment or on essentials, we're gonna switch to digital publishing or actually let's use interactive pdf. What does...
this kind of like re jigs your your workspace just to show you the things you can do an interactive pdf. And the main one here is page transitions. Okay. So what I'd like to do is be on the page that you want to do the transition to. So we're gonna be on page two and it's kind of weird this pay it's how to get to this page. So I would like it from page one to page two to maybe push down. Okay, so I'm going to go to page transitions and I'm going to say I'd like you to push down. Okay. And what you'll notice is in your pages panel, can you see this little icon appear? That means that this particular page has a transition. Okay. This particular page on page three, I want to get to this one by going to push. Let's go push left to see the difference. Jump to the next page and you can go through and play with him. You are banned from using comb. Okay. You can see the icons, they're not for any reason other than I hate comb. Dissolve works and some of them work. This doesn't that kind of 3D page turn thing that only works out of flash Swf files. And that just just as a format you can't use anymore. So unfortunately you can use the rest of them except for page turn and comb because I don't like it. But the main ones would be dissolved fade and push So we'll use dissolve here to see what they look like. Alright, so let's go and preview it. So like I said at the beginning, the page transitions have uh they have to be in full screen. So let's go file and let's go to export. Let's have a little look. So it's gonna be called catalog still gonna replace the old one if you've still got it open, like I do in acrobatic. Have to close this one down. Okay, so I'm gonna replace it. Yes please. Um This is the option you can do, you can say when this pdf has opened, go to full screen. This could be useful. Say you're sending it out to, you know, your boss or your colleagues to use as a power point presentation replacement when they double click it. It'll open up in full screen and the transitions will work. Man, that's a hard word. Alright, so let's click export over set text. I'm okay with that. It'll load. It's gonna say I'm trying to load in full screen, I'm gonna say yes, that's okay. Cool. So I got my first page here and you can use your keys, your arrow keys or just click once with the mouse and it will move down. So push down. It's not what I wanted, that's kind of I think I wanted to push up, let's click on this one, push left and that's kind of what I wanted. I wanted to push over that way. Next one's dissolved. Okay, dissolves, terrible. You want fade? Not not dissolved bit blocky. Okay, so yeah, that's how to add paid transitions but remember it only goes out to interactive pdf and so it doesn't work for publish online and it doesn't work for a pub, but it has to be in full screen. So yeah, great for presentations. Alright, let's jump to the next video
