Sharing your Ideas: Making the Plan
Communicating your ideas so this is something that's that's an exercise that we're goingto take um like how do you get these ideas from your brain into other people's brains clearly okay uh we're gonna play a little game here and the rule is if you know what this is anybody in this room do not shout it out online if you know what this thing is that I'm about to show you do not shout it on chat right? You'll wreck it for everybody we don't like that okay I'm going to show you this little thing okay? Which may or not actually be a thing I'm going to play a little game and the game is what the heck is that right I think you know what it is because you were in new york that's right ok so you can't say um once I show you this I'm gonna give you about twenty seconds to know and we'll go from there okay here it is the thing all right just raise your hand if you have no idea what this is if you have no idea what this is no idea no idea, no idea do you have an idea? You sort of know josh do you...
know you're looking? You don't know do you guys know? Okay, all right, well, you look just a little bit more if I'm gonna do something and it's gonna wreck it for you if you just don't know what it is raising okay so a screamer face what do you think no one no idea at all carly no idea all zoom in on something so do you guys see like the train tracks in this area of the screen see that there's a little smoke coming out train not a train lying to you okay alright online what do we have has anybody did I tell you what it is you told us what it is and I literally still don't I think you told us that once you told us that we would see it tonight right you're still on c I don't know what we ask people to not time in so they can chime in no now they're trying has anybody chimed in with proper rants they have they have the proper answer ok good good all right so here's what it is I suspect online because it's so tiny that you can't tell but when it's big very difficult do you know what it is what uh can I say it you could say it was this uh looks like an x ray of a school that uh got photocopy you are absolutely wrong wrong who else knows what it is besides you guys? Because I told you you don't know there's an app computer it's an apple computer in there all right I will show you what it is it is uh right here there's an eyeball that's the right eyeball and right here there's the left eyeball and right here is a nose and right here is an ear right here is an ear and if you look closely that is a cow a cow? Do you see it? It looks like a pig, but it's a cow so there's a nose and I and I and here the head and ear nose I see it now I see it now. Now that you don't actually pointed everything out, I see it. You see it right now? Yesterday you just count now wait, wait. Let's, let's, go back! So does everybody see it? Do you see it? Ellen? You see it? You still say computer, you still see a bigot? I knows this is the news of the cow here. Head a year if you blur your eyes might help out. Okay. It's account now, the thing is, this is this is a great point. I know this is a cow. Even though I told you guys it was a cow, you still didn't see it, right? You guys know it's a cow, but you still don't see it right you can't see a cow in there, can you guys ever go back to not seeing a cow? Actually I can I continue go back to no I can't I can't see a cat's face you still see the cat's face I mean I can go back for me it's like no I always see the counter yeah now it's like anytime I see I see the cow carly she's like I still don't see it that's alright yes it's a cow trust me it's a cow once you see it it's like o asked josh is that that what happened like wow okay cal all right what the heck does this have to do with anything? I don't know where don't know um the point is when you have ideas and you have a direction that you want to take with the photo shoot you have a cow in your head right? You see things clearly um and when you try to present that to people usually they see this in their head like why what do you want a super duck? I have no idea what you're talking about what is that? And so you have to be able to present things in a way that they see the same thing that you do that's what we're trying to do with creativity to actually produce something is to be able to say I see this do you see this? No, you don't see this let me illustrate it for you clearly and so what we have to do is, we have to use our tools for clearly communicating our ideas. So those are the reasons why we go to those extremes with mind map documents. In addition to the mind map documents the excel document. In addition to that, the word document, in addition to that little pictures that we cut out and show people in addition to that little scene, some recent addition of that meetings where we go through everything there's, just like tons of stuff that we do unless you're just shooting a person that needs to have their picture taken in front of a a little bookstore for a talk makes sense. Okay, that's, why we go to these crazy extremes for doing that, and the principle is this, you just have to write it down. Verbal communication is horrible, it's no good. It has to be written down. There has to be planet people, khun see.
