Now we're going to talk about your pre holiday marketing and this is really your secret to success way talked in the last session about you know the different trends that we're seeing in the holiday shopping season and we talked about the holiday buying cycle and what that looks like for month to month so now we want to start taking some action and building that plan and building your marketing strategy and the key to success is not waiting until november or december to think about your holiday marketing it's really about planning as much and doing as much as you can in the lead up to the holiday season so do any of you feel like you're not doing your best holiday marketing and maybe you're leaving money on the table because you're just too busy filling in the orders that come in organically what happened or maybe you're not doing your best holiday marking because you're too busy with the life that happens over the holidays so happened anyone things get crazy and all of our best intent...
ions go out the window I think the other thing that happens to is we talked about this idea that makers and designers and crafters you you don't want to feel sales e or pushy or spammy and so even if you have the intention of marketing over the holidays what it comes time to do it and you're like you know you talk yourself out of it you think you know I just don't want to bother people I don't want to do it you saw how that I don't bother people thought yeah so by putting a plan in place it makes it so much easier to not feel like that because you're not saying oh my bothering people what should I do today you're going to go into my plan and do the marketing that I already decided upon and if it's pre scheduled even better because then it doesn't for you and you don't have to think about it so the more you prepped your holiday marketing materials ahead of time the more time you can spend on production and order film it during the holidays or the more time you can spend with your family or your friends during the holidays whatever those goals are but the key is to prep as many holiday marketing materials ahead of time as possible so I want to talk about the key elements for holiday sales success and I want to start with the key elements for online holiday marking because I know that that's a goal for a lot of people and let's be realistic even though only it's about only ten percent of all holiday retail sales that come from online that's a big it's ten percent of big number I don't know what it is but it's yeah probably billions of dollars so it's still a pretty big slice of the pie and I also know that a lot of us have that dream of, isn't it just great to sit at home and watch the orders come in and send them out? So I want to talk about some of the key elements for online successful online holiday marketing, but we are going to continue to talk throughout this day, too, about some of the things that you can do to reach out to stores and think about that is part of your holiday marketing as well. And in reality, most of these things that we're talking about for successful online holiday marking are essential for reaching out to stores as well, because your store buyers are regular people and just like everybody else, the first place they're going is your website or your social media or your email list there's still all doing the same things. So even though we're doing all of this online stuff and a lot of it is consumer focused, you could also use it to drive sales to stores as well.
