Introduction to the Workshop
(bright music) (chair scooting) Hello. All right, Let's get started. We'll start with a personal story about how I got into time lapse. The reason I want to tell you this story, is because a lot of people are always asking me, "How did you make your time lapses? It's not really clear how you make time lapse." And I was asking the same questions when I saw a nature documentary called 'Planet Earth' a long time ago. Fortunately, this documentary had a behind the scenes section that allowed me to see how all the time lapses were made. And to this day, I'm still excited about all those time lapses, seven years later, like how they were made, and I still want to try and make those time lapses. And so, I want to share with you how I learned to make time lapse. So, you know what to do with that, that same excitement. During this project, you're gonna learn how to see the world through a whole new perspective. You're gonna learn how to use that perspective to plan a time lapse project from s...
tart to finish. You're gonna learn about the gear I use, why I use it, and how I use it. So, you can do things like add motion to your time lapse. And I'm gonna take you through the process of creating an Astro time lapse, and telling the story of a full day. Six years ago, I started the biggest project in my life. Over a hundred time lapses has taken, 200 plus miles hiked, and over a hundred thousand photos captured. By the end of this workshop, you should be able to make your own project Yosemite from start to finish. (bright music fades)

I have seen tons of timelapses, but there is no other timelapse film that touches my soul as much as Project Yosemite 1 I never forget the moment when I saw Project Yosemite for the first time! That moment I knew that that’s what I wanna DO! Colin is the reason that I bought my first DSLR! Thank You Alex for getting together with my hero and make this awesome idea happen!

Clear and concise workshop to understand the process of Time-lapse photography Being new to this aspect of photography, I found this workshop informative and directional. If I were to give a critique, it would be regarding equipment choice for the entry level bridging to pro-level for the introductory student. Otherwise, it lays a nice foundation to build from.
