And no and welcome to advanced type for filmmakers. I'm so excited to have all my filmmakers here with me today to talk about intellectual property in your business. I'm really excited because intellectual property is how you make your money, it's everything in your business so it's really important for you to understand what it is understand the rights that you have associated with your intellectual property and that'll be a really a driver for all the decisions that you make in your business. So we're going to talk a lot about that if you are just, you know, finding this course and haven't checked out my intellectual property one o one class, you should definitely do that. our intellectual property if you haven't already, if you have, then awesome, you're in the right place, and this is sort of two o one this's advanced I p specifically for filmmakers, so we're going to talk about the intellectual property issues that film makers have and need to be aware of to protect and profit from your specific intellectual property in your film making business so what I'm going to cover today is too big ways that you can protect your intellectual property and then another where you consort of avoid infringing on other people's copyright, which happens a lot in film, right? So first we're going to talk about client service agreements and how they are so important and protect you from ninety percent of the legal issues that could happen in your business s o that includes not just intellectual property and protecting that, but also just in general all the legal things that could go wrong and create problems for you and your business client service agreement can resolve most of that. So I'm going to tell you exactly what should be in your client service agreement. I'm even going to give you some contract link, which to use in your contracts on dh tell you how to incorporate it into your business to make this really easy for you to implement ok, because that's the whole point we don't want to just learn, but we want to take action so that's the client service agreement part, then we're going to get into copyright and talk about copyright registration and how you can use this as a powerful to to protect your I pee in your business and I'm going to actually walk youth through a copyright registration right here on the screen so that you know exactly how to do this without the cost of a lawyer, okay, is going to save you thousands of dollars, just that process alone? Then we're also going to get into something called rights and clearances. Now, this is all about avoiding infringing on other people's copyright in your film making business in your films, okay, so when you're creating videos, there are a lot of things that could and come up and sort of be seen in front of your camera, and some of those things are copyrighted works, right? Or their intellectual property that belonged to other people. How do you prevent your film from being the subject of a copyright fringe mint lawsuit, right? How do you prevent issues from happening? Because you're using other people's copyrighted work in your films? I'm going to give you an action plan of how to deal with that and guess what's not going to cost you a lot of money and it's not going to require, you know, a team of lawyers to help you do this. You can do this on your own. As an individual filmmaker, I'm going to show you exactly how to do it.
