Rights of Copyright
Here the five rights of copyright just so you kind of can understand what you're giving away in that grant of rights clause you know you can unbundle these rights and sell them and life in them in any way you wish so you have the right to reproduce the work uh the right to prepare derivative works and all that means is the right to take that footage and do something different with it reorganize it in a different way take the audio from it, stripped the audio out and use the audio in a different way to use to create whatever you want from that film you khun do that um the right to distribute copies the right to perform the rite to display ok, so you get all of these different rights when you register the copyright or when you create something right you automatically have common law copyright that's not sufficient and we're going to talk about why you still need to register your copyrights in a moment but just understand that these air the different rights that come with it and so you do...
n't have to give away the entire copyright to your footage if you don't want tio, you could give away the right to reproduce or the right to distribute copies but preserve the right to prepare derivative works or tow to reproduce so or two performer to display ok, so there's a lot of different contact for this. But just understand that this is what you're getting. This is what makes up the rights that are included in a copyright. And you can see, sell and license each one of these in any way you choose. Okay, so these are some of the different ways that generate cash flow for your business, you know, through the copyrights that you own.
