Smarter Science of Slim Summary

This this last segment is going to be a great segment I'm so excited to help us to now take all the science that we've learned all the practical approaches we've learned and to bring that back home to why into really that obviously we've got this beautiful, powerful brain, but we've also got this really important other component of our body called our heart and believing in this and believing in the importance and believing in yourself and your own worth and that you're worth doing this and spending the time on this is potentially more important than anything else we've covered today, so I'm very excited to hopefully fill your heart with passion as much as we filled your head with science in this segment, so we'll see if we can do that, but I also want to empower you just with a little bit of data, you know, I can't I can't get away from the data, so I have to start with data I'm sorry it's just in my blood. So one way to think about this if you have any doubts about your ability to im...

plement despite the fact that we're just talking about eating the most delicious whole natural food in the world in a way that takes minutes to prepare that your whole family could enjoy that's incredibly cost effective and that will make you feel great and then moving your body in a very safe and sustainable way for maybe twenty minutes per week and then of course staying active if you have any doubts that you will not be able to do that, I would ask you to consider one number and that's two billion because if you look at the number of people who are either diabetic or who practiced dietary restriction for religious reasons or who are vegans or vegetarians or who are pregnant just think about all the people in the world that our intentional about what they eat their not dieting it's not a constant struggle for them they're just consciously choosing what they put into their body if you look at all of those people and even if you assume that a third of them don't follow those lifestyles there's still two billion people around the globe that consciously and consistently and without any struggle choose what they eat for a higher purpose because they believe in something else and we can do that too like let's let's take that number above two billion right let's join the ranks of all those people that are already just being intentional about what they were not dieting they're just choosing to eat for a reason and a noble reason we can do that too and just interesting anecdote in the united states the average person spends at least twenty four minutes per day commuting to and from work we're talking about spending about twenty minutes per week exercising like you can get started with this you can do this and you could do it forever, which is why it works it's permanent and it's practical and it's exciting but there's going to be haters right? Like I actually don't think the problem is going to be any of our ability to execute on this we can do this, but sometimes people might tryto sabotage or may not be as supportive of us as we wish they were. One of the most common things you'll hear is what don't you like food or something like that, which as you know is so like just off basically this is all about loving food, right? This sanity is food, we love food, we're eating even more food, we just eat so much food that were too full for nonfood an edible products, right? So we absolutely like food, so if anyone says you, don't you don't you like food? I would just smile and say, I know I love food thank you for your feedback and just move on don't argue with them don't try to convert anybody your example will inspire people beyond anything your words could ever do, so just live this life go saying make these choices ah little anecdote when I started living this way and and take I remember taking my green smoothies into the office at microsoft and originally right and I was like what are those weird drinks you're drinking on baylor you know it's so weird what are you doing and that continued for about two weeks and just smiled and said yeah you know I'm weird it's all good you know you take like judo just take it don't don't try to fight just you know people people are people are nice so just you know take it and then after about three weeks started to open the refrigerator sort of like wait that's not my green smoothie what's it and then a week later whether the green smoothies are multiplying what's going on right so I started to see more and more green smoothies just appear and mohr sanity just happen and as we heard from dr mike keane yesterday and as we'll hear from kathy and kari and jim in a moment just just living this lifestyle will empower people in a way and enable them to transcend their own limitations like you will give people permission to shine when you shine and that's really an amazing feeling like if for no other reason try this for twenty one days because when you see that you just by living and just by being in being the best you is enabling others and giving others the permission to do the same you will never stop because that is one of the most empowering an amazing feelings a person can ever have and I'm kinda getting that feeling right now that's why I'm so honored to be here because sharing this this lifestyle in the science with you guys, but it really is its transformational it's transformed so many people's lives, and I'm so honored to be able to help you transform your lives with the hope that then you can help others transformed there's. So anyway, all that said, you may also wonder, how can this work like from a high level? How can this possibly work? It seems too good to be true, and of course we've talked about all kinds of science that shows that it's too obvious to be false, but at the end of the day, at the end of the day, you're goingto this. This session is only two days longer taken by it and watch it over and over again, but the media will continue to preach calorie myths, and most people at the gym you go to will continue to do not the smartest form of exercise and you're going to be taking the road less traveled like for the foreseeable future. I try not to sleep, and I try to preach this as much as I can, but for the foreseeable future you will be in the minority, but remember, if you don't want what everyone else has, you can't do what they're doing like by definition like, think about that that's simple logic is so empowering like, yes, you are different from everyone else but that's because you want something different from everyone else, right? Everyone else is becoming sicker and heavier and is being frustrated and being saddened by these proven, disproven calorie myths. You want something different, and because of that, you're doing something different, so you should expect to be different and to take that different road. The other thing to watch out for his irrelevant opinions. This is a term I coined, which which I don't talk about too much because I try to stay positive, but sometimes it seems like with food and exercise, everyone's got an opinion, right? Like you're gonna watch this course, and you're gonna go home and you're gonna talk to maybe your friends about this or some of your family members, and they're gonna say, oh, well, no butter kills you, I don't. Whatever butter kills you that's, fine, like, don't please don't get in arguments about this stuff. It's an irrelevant opinion if you and it's not because people are bad or mean. If you ask a three year old like a complex mathematical question, they'll say something and you won't get mad about it, they don't know what they're talking about, they don't mean anything by it, so when you start to share this information with people, if they give you an irrelevant opinion, meaning that they don't know the science, but they have an opinion about it that's fine, I would just urge you not to argue with them, because that will quickly take something that can be so positive, and we'll make it a source of negativity in your life. So just please, please, please. Any time a hater approaches you or someone starts giving you, they're irrelevant opinions which, again and irrelevant opinion is an opinion that is based in nothing. Just let it slide off your back. Say thank you and move on. So it's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of fact, biology is a matter of fact that our body regulates our weight automatically. That calories have different qualities. That hormones are as important as calories, that sweeteners caused metabolic chaos, starches, arm or harmful than they are helpful that a more balanced intake of natural carbohydrate, protein and fat is very healthy and helpful and that we get mohr results exercising more muscle that are that is fact. You know the science if they don't that's. Okay, maybe maybe grab a copy this course, maybe you can convince him to buy a copy of my book. And then they will too, but don't let it get you down. Don't let it become a source of negativity in your life so let's really quickly summarize this science and let's cover some top questions that you may have after you finish watching this, so of course we talked about getting her losing fat is controlled by our metabolic set point. We understand that we understand that it automatically regulates calories in calories out it's not that we're saying that calories don't exist or that if you eat ten thousand calories of butter, you won't get fat, you will, but you won't do that, so it doesn't matter. Our body is designed to automatically regulate calories just like it regulates everything else. Fat gain is the result of a hormonal clog in our metabolic system, which raises are set point? Think back to the sink analogy don't think of your body like a balance if you have to think about it like in a metaphoric sense, think about it as the sink long term fat loss comes from clearing this clog and lowering our set point long term fat loss is what we're after short term weight gain weight loss can be achieved by eating less and exercising more, but we're not after short term weight loss, we're after a long term fat loss. In long term health and that comes from fixing our metabolic system, lowering our set point and changing our basic biology. We change our basic biology by focusing on quality rather than quantity it's that simple like if you remember three words from these two days it's quality rather bus forwards quality rather than quantity quality rather than quantity quality rather than quantity that's it just remember that temporary fat loss comes from fighting against ourselves and remember it will always be temporary if it if it helps, think about trying to force yourself to eat less like trying to force yourself to breathe less or to blink less or to go to the bathroom less it can't work eating is a basic metabolic function you have to do it. The only chance we have to heal our bodies is to change the quality of the food were eating not the quantity of course, the manually balancing calorie quantity, fat loss myths or the calorie myth, as I affectionately call it, fails because it ignores our set point. It ignores calorie quality, and it ignores our hormones it's not particularly shocking once you understand the science that seventy percent of us are overweight it's actually shocking that one hundred percent of us aren't overweight, considering that the way we've all been taught to think about fat loss is basically wrong in every single sense it ignores our bodies basic ability to balance us out it doesn't deal with quality at all and it doesn't mention anything about hormones when we focus on the quality of calories we eat, we eat is much saying food as possible so we're too full for insane food we full ourselves into fat loss and then we sit back and relax while our body heals itself. Another useful metaphor is think about a broken metabolic system maybe like a broken ankle, right? Like if you break your ankle it's not magic wu to say that your body will heal itself that's exactly what your body will do here's how you heal a broken ankle take it, don't aggravate it anymore and let the body heal itself that's what our body is designed to do it's brilliant it's not in adequate by default it's not broken by default it wants us to be healthy it wants us to rock our purpose and if we fuel it that which it is designed or that which it evolved to run on that all will ensue slim will become simple, healthy will become healthy again it will become enjoyable to pursue health not a burden so wait see that same food we eat wet wait wet fiber rich and protein packed foods those air non starchy vegetables, nutrient dense protein, whole food fats and low fructose fruits they're delicious foods there hormonally healthy foods, they're satisfying foods, their foods that are inefficiently stored, his body fat and their foods that don't panic our body they're not aggressive it's actually the way we ate for ninety nine point eight percent of our history it is the way we are meant to eat and doesn't it make sense that eating the way we ate before we had this problem might be a good and simple way to address this problem, but our government, alas, continues to promote a disproven and imbalanced an unnatural diet while encouraging the insanity at the root of these horrendous epidemics, we talked about on day one right forty million children under the age of five worldwide that suffer from overweight a seventy percent likelihood of any child who struggles with overweight struggling with that for the rest of their life. The one point seven trillion dollars economic burden placed on the world by obesity and diabetes. And the estimated five hundred million victims of diabetes estimated worldwide by twenty twenty, if we do not stop this insanity. But big food, fitness and pharmaceutical corporations continue to pile on the insane food and exercise misinformation because it really only makes sense to keep us heavy and sick because it's a lot easier to make money off people who are broken and seeking fixes, then it is off of people who know they're beautiful and rock their beauty and manifest their beauty in the world already right and just like eating and exercise excuse me just like eating exercise is not about quantity it's about quality we don't burn more fat by exercising more we burn more fat by working more muscle fibres which triggers that hormonal reaction which clears that clog again heals our body it's really not what you're doing while you're exercising its all the results that come afterwards exercise helps us burn fat forever when we do less of it's smarter not because we're lazy butt because it's so effective we can't do a lot of it telling a metabolically clogged person to eat less and exercise more is a bit like telling a depressed person to frown less and smile more seriously think about that like think of how heartless and insensitive and elitist it is to tell someone who's struggling metabolically who has now what has been proven to be a predictable metabolic disease that has similar characteristics among all of those who suffer from it which is inflammation in the areas of the brain designed to regulate appetite dis regulation of the hormones designed to regulate appetite and dis regulation of your gut bacteria those people are suffering just like someone who may be psychologically suffering we don't go to someone who is psychologically suffering you just say we just try harder like just smile more and frown less what's your problem try harder like we would never go to an anorexic and say, just eat more like what's wrong with you. Try harder, it's, so wrong, and we need to stop, and we have the power to stop it, and we can be that change. And while eating less and exercising, mohr obviously led to the opposite of what we want. It kind of makes sense that doing the opposite, eating more and exercising less. But doing so smarter will also do the opposite.

This course if phenomenal! I've been on a 20+ year journey of trying to find the solution that will help me achieve my body goals that I can stick to, without going crazy. I have tried everything (keto, paleo, low fat, weight watchers, dash etc). Jonathan goes over a massive amount of research to help you understand the 'why' of why these diets don't work longterm and how to eat in a way that's sustainable. In addition, I've always struggled with exercise. I was an athlete growing up but as an adult it's been very difficult to find something that I like and will stick to. This exercise methodology is perfect because it's fast, results oriented and doesn't take longer than 15 minutes. I've recommended this course to everyone who asks. It's absolutely brilliant and I'm so, so grateful!

It is the first time that I really want to leave a review on Creative Live. The course has touched me, although I am not new to the topic. But the ability of a knowledgeable person to base his lifestyle advice on science, his energy and wisdom are amazing. Thank you!
