Notice that these two over here from the photograph, they're looking a bit, aren't they? Yeah Yeah, so if I missed it then I would just catch it in Photoshop and use a liquefy tool, but I caught it in real life so we're just gonna tweek it a little bit, because we're looking a little bit too, there we go and I'm gonna take a closer up shot of you, so let's see, one, two, three (camera clicks) Let's have your fingers showing over here, yeah something like that. Oh that looks stunning and let's have, just holding them together, yeah really beautiful. That's it, one, two, three (camera clicks) Lovely, and another thing, when you're working with a hair artist and a make-up artist, make sure that you get shots for them as well because they are working with you and they're lending their craft so at the end of the day, it is as much their image as it is yours. So I always make sure that I get the photo for myself, but I also go out of my way to get a photo for them that they can use in thei...

So usually for a makeup artist, you'd want to get those shots where it's like a close up beauty picture that she can show off and be like look what I created and what I was a part of as well. So, I'm gonna zoom right in and I'm gonna have you, let's see, yeah I'm really happy with that. Yeah, let's have you look away for one second (camera clicks) beautiful. And just lift your shoulder up and let's get some like, bring this shoulder in a little bit, hunch it in. Yeah, there that's it. That's beautiful. Okay, how's that looking? Yeah, great. Okay let's bring, do that again, bring that in a bit more I wanna do one thing, actually can you bring up to F11 instead? Yeah? Just so I ensure we get the background focused and foreground focused, And so we're gonna drop adjust the light, okay. Okay, so bring, And we're using a D Yeah like a horse Yeah, and then your hands are together so you want her to separate them and bring some delicacy back, that's it, just anything delicate. You can even bring the other hand around, whatever feels natural to you, that's lovely. Yeah that's right just curl that in just a little bit, but the moment it's like that so you just want to, yes you got it, you're a very quick learner, yeah. Okay, your shoulder in a bit more and longing, and let's make it happen (camera clicks) beautiful. How's that? And now turn your eyes to me, there we go I love that (camera clicks) Alright and then you can change your hands up as well, just a tiny bit so bring them both like, yeah whatever feels natural to you, if you wanted to hold your hair with your other hand, that works too, whatever feels natural. Yeah (camera clicks) And turn your face towards me now, there we go (camera clicks) And actually while your there, I think this makes a really striking photo as well, so bring this in a bit more like this and this works because you are very slim, actually this works because she's quite slim, she's got some lovely lines, you know the curve of her back, her neck and this line over here. It's very as if you were drawing a picture. What I basically did on my end was just increase the aperture a bit to F13, I wanted to get even more sharpness out of it even though it was sharp already, I just didn't want to risk missing any of the frames as well. And just drop this hand a little bit, just drop it a bit like this one, yeah just drop it a tiny bit, a little bit more, yeah. The other thing that I can do on my end is that if I make any changes to exposure on this side, any of the continuing frames will have that applied if I choose that setting, so I can even do color adjustments as she starts working and all the other files that come in, have them applied if necessary and they're non-destructive as well. Yeah? Go ahead. Great. Opps, (camera licks) yeah? And one more. Yep I'll have you look at me. (camera clicks) Stunning. Should we zoom in and see the, so you can see that some, you know, in the wig, it's coming up a bit over here, stuff like that I can tidy up in post. Cause right now what happened is the hair piece is, oh yeah, but I'm not gonna touch it because I'll just ruin the whole wig, so the hair piece is just interrupting the flow of the wing I love that shot I do love that shot as well Are you getting closer to what you like? _ I am. Good. Well what I really wanted was just a really evocative moody portrait. Yes. And I fell like this lighting really adds to it because it's wrapping around so beautifully. So the contrast adds some interest and I've got catch lights in both of her eyes, which is exactly what I'm looking for, and yeah the colors are working beautifully. There's a connection between her and the backdrop with the color turning so I'm happy, yeah? And what I might also do is, yes her eyes are gray, but I feel like when I'm editing in post production, I'll probably turn her eyes greener to connect to the green in the background so there'll be another connection there as well. Okay, yeah stay there cause that's really pretty, beautiful. Okay one, two, three (camera clicks) And actually just stay there cause that's really beautiful (camera clicks) Great and we're gonna fleck some hair really fast, I don't know (camera clicks) and I want you to open your mouth and just be like, let's see. (camera clicks) Lovely.

Truly a remarkable duo. Bella is so down-to-earth and humble for a photographer with such a strong beautiful and ethereal voice. Her explanations of her process really inspired me--I was sketching concepts throughout the class. Pratik's process really opened my eyes to "smart" retouching--understanding what can be done in fewer brush strokes and slimmer PS files. All in all a really unique and inspiring class that makes me excited to realize my next conceptual shoot. They're also adorable together!
