Shoot: Movement Poses & Everyone in The Frame
Okay, and we did some movement stuff already. Now, this is harder to do in here, but, like I said, I have them dance. I'm gonna do a couple, maybe one or two other things that we can get them moving in here. But this is when I'd be outside, kind of using the elements a little bit more, because I would have room to do that. Like, we might have them run, or be crazy. I'm afraid of getting them a little too riled up, just 'cause we have this controlled environment that I don't usually work from, but we're gonna come on over anyway, and just do a little bit, okay? This tether is, like, it's tripping me up a little bit. So, guys, hold hands in a circle Can you hold hands in a circle? And just go around in a circle and you can sing a song if you want to, or just walk around in a circle a little bit, okay? ♪Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder ♪ ♪ What you are ♪ And, don't look at me. Look at each other. (camera clicking) ♪ Up above the world so high, like a diamond ♪ So cute. ♪ In...
the sky, twinkle twinkle, little star, ♪ ♪ How I wonder what you are ♪ Alright, now Mom and Dad, you're going to give each other a big kiss. Get in a circle. Ready? (camera clicking) Good job. (camera clicking) (crowd laughing) Perfect. Perfect. Okay, I'm not gonna make them do too much more movement because I just feel like they're doing well. (laughs) (crowd laughs) What did she say? Kissee wissee? Alright, so like, if you had rambunctious boys, like this was, and you wanted to get them involved, like that's a great way to get them involved, is do something where they can move. Let them be active. If they need to go for a walk, let them go for a walk. Like, we can do that, and we can still do a photo shoot. Play. Okay, so this is one where I love, love to do this. So, if we were out in the elements, I keep saying that, but that's how we do it. And, I wanted to incorporate the environment, I wanted to let the kids have some freedom to explore, but I also want to make a great shot. So, what I would do in that situation, is I would have, so let's pretend like this is a mountain behind us. But, still, this is actually pretty cool. So, I'm gonna give the kids boundaries. So guys, you can play, but you're gonna play just on this rug. Okay, does that sound good? Mmhmm. Okay. Mom and Dad, you're gonna stand right here. Allie, watch your foot. They're fine. And I want you guys to turn towards each other. I want you guys to give each other the kitchen hug. You know, like, hi we're in the kitchen. Scoot this way just a tiny bit. This is how we hug in the kitchen. Yeah. (crowd laughs) Yeah, that's what I want. And then what I'm gonna do. So, go ahead, you're gonna, don't look at me. Okay (camera clicks) Girls, don't look at me. You guys can play. Can you guys jump. They're so, they're a little bit more mellow than. (camera clicks) Oh, you two. (crowd laughs) They're fine, don't worry about them. So, now, Trevor, I want you to give her a big, like, romantic movie kiss. And, just like, take her down, and go back like this. You know what I mean? I know you got it in you, come on. Ready? (crowd laughs) Ready, set, go. (camera clicks) Wooooo! (crowd laughs) (camera clicks) Yeah, there we go, delivered. (crowd laughs) Perfect. Okay, nice work. High five. Proud of you. Alright, good job guys. (laughs) he's like, wow I didn't know I was goin' on some kind of date here. So, that is a really good way to allow them to do that. But, to still make an awesome shot, and usually they love this one because it includes where we are. And, a lot of times, for my families, like they chose the location based on, you know, what their family likes to do. Or, whatever, they're Pacific Northwesterners, we like to be outside around here. And, so, and normally I'd be shooting all of this, like you would never stop, right, at a session. So, that's exactly what I just did. You wanna give them boundaries. And, this guy, I was like, okay, there's this bush right here, and then I put a stick down, and said you guys can do whatever you want as long as you stay within those boundaries. And, they were like, okay. And then we had Mom and Dad and that's how it happened.

Armstrong Su
is super knowledgable, yet down-to-earth and relatable. I love how he explains the exact gear he uses but also describes ways to accomplish the same look using DIY and less expensive alternatives. The segment where he demos a live shoot in multiple, difficult lighting situations is worth the cost of the class alone! Bonus: He's super funny. He could probably double as a comedian on the side, but I digress. This class was informative, funny, and very practical for any photographer that wants to increase their profit and expand their business into the professional world. He gives all his prices and workflows so you can get up and running in 2 days! :) Awesome class overall, and it's a great sequel to his professional headshot class (which I also bought and loved.)
Sandra Kay Hayes
I am totally in tears watching this, and think that every person going into Photography should watch these. She is a great teacher, and helps us to understand our "why" so much better. I also LOVE that she helps one feel confident with the non-perfect, (or so called) shots, Thank you so much for giving me more confidence to shot what I love and not worry about "rules!!". Best class I've taken I will recommend her to every group I am in!!!

Elena is a great presenter. Delivers information in a very fun and engaging way. This course would be good for a beginner photographer. She shares the basics, but unfortunately doesn't quite provide advice on the more tricky questions. She shares a lot about her current state of business (10 years in and making enough profit to afford hiring staff). This is great to know what to aim for, however, it would be more beneficial to hear more about HOW to get to this stage. The main idea that I took from this course is: outsource as many processes as you can. Elena doesn't have a very distinctive style (no offence, but there is a huge competition in the style and editing that she works with), I would love to hear her advice on how to win in such high competition, how to convince clients to choose you and pay higher price tag for an equal quality of work. This is a fairly inexpensive class, so I would recommend it to the beginners, but not to the more experienced photographers.
