Share your Content Consistently
We're gonna move into share your content consistently because you wanna use the visuals that you've prepared, the hashtags that you've researched, and the engagement techniques that we just talked about to show up consistently and impress your followers. Okay, so we're gonna recap. You're gonna post descriptions. Your post, your description, and your hashtags all need to be connected. There can't be a disconnect. This is where often people fail. They don't have all three of these pieces together. You wanna have your hashtags ready in your notes so that you can instantly add and share. Timing is everything with your hashtags. Then, you want to actively engage. We talked about this a little bit. Consider engagement as part of your posting strategy. This is the goal. The goal, the overall goal is to be very conversational and here's how you can actively engage. You can respond to comments and questions on every post. You can reply to your direct messages. If yours blow up every day, make ...
sure you're replying to the best ones that you've got in there. Okay, and you can comment on other people's content. Like I just, I told you earlier that when you show up in the comment thread of other people's accounts could ideally be having your target audience commenting, those are good places to spend your time. You wanna schedule your posts when your followers are gonna be most active. You need to look at your insights to do that. You wanna respond-- What you don't wanna do is you don't wanna post and dash. I always say this to people. They wonder why their engagement isn't going up, it's because they just checked off their to-do list. I need to post on Instagram and now I'm gonna go do the next thing and they don't hang out. Do that at the key time and then maybe go get a cup of tea or a beverage, and sit down and just be actively commenting. Okay, so let's recap this section which is, it's not always about the likes that you get, but it's about the conversation. I say this over and over. A lot of people question why I don't have more likes on my post with the amount of followers I have, but I have real conversations with real people. I have, my email list is growing. I have people coming into my email. I have new clients and customers, and that's the measurement for me. It's not, oh, my gosh, how many likes we have, because the truth is there are companies that like photos and people get paid to like photos sometimes, so don't believe everything that you see all the time. Just be cautious of that and focus on the really good conversations. Don't leave a comment or a like behind, and the very, very least what you can do is heart it up. On the right, there's a little heart and you can tap that. Engagement with your followers is time well spent. I think I spend more time engaging than I do posting and it takes me probably 20 plus minutes to craft the perfect post. Perfect posts for me are all the elements that we said, making sure that I have a geotag in the photo, which we actually didn't talk about. I wanna say out loud that having a geolocation on your post gets you 79% more engagement, because that geolocation, you can show up in that geolocation on your Instagram post as one of the top nine. You can tap into that geolocation if the location is specific to what you're trying to do and spend time there practicing, studying as well. Studying, like looking at those top nine.

Can I just say, "I LOVE Sue"! I took her three day course on CreativeLive back in January when I had finally decided that I didn't want to be the only photographer NOT on Instagram. I took that class knowing absolutely NOTHING about the platform and by the end of it, I was up and running. When I heard that she was doing a new class, I knew I had to see it. By the end of the day my head was exploding with information. There are so many new things on IG that I am already WAY behind the times and have so much work to do. Sue delivered the course in true Sue form - highly entertaining and energized. The examples of successful businesses that she uses are so inspirational and make you feel like, "Yes! It IS possible!!" I am sooooo glad I own the course, because there is no way I could get the full benefit from just watching it once. I will be going back to this class MANY times as I develop as an Instagrammer!

I love Sue's energy and her passion for her work is contagious. She is animated and articulate, making learning about Instagram not only fun, but inspiring. I found her tips to be very intuitive and easy to implement if you have the desire and drive to take your Instagram to the next level. I'm at a point where I've grown my Instagram to a respectable amount (13K), but I want to take it to the next level, so I'm doing a one-on-one consultation with her. I really appreciate all the work she's done into creating a program to uplevel your Instagram game.

Amazing class, super helpful for understanding how to make your Instagram work for your business. And Sue B is engaging and fun to listen to. But make sure you have a pen and paper ready, because there's so much important information you're going to want to write it down! I'm about to start again from the beginning and this time take notes!
