Introduction to Workshop
Hi and welcome to the intro for 3 60 video. I'm very Pau Zeman. I am the co founder and CEO variable abs. And I'm happy to be here in the creative live studios in San Francisco. So thanks for having me. So we'll take away from this class is a better understanding of er and 3 60 video understanding how those things are aligned and understanding where people see differences. You'll also get to realize it's not that hard to create your own 3 60 content. It's not that far out of reach. You know, um, if you really motivated, if you're really interested, there are simple tools to get started today, Um, and how to publish how to promote and eventually, how to monetize, huh? 3 60 video. Um, so that's we're gonna talk about today, and I think I think it'll be a fun class. So we're gonna go through a few things in the class specifically. What is VR? What is 3 how did we get to where we are today? What is V are being used for, right? You can imagine all the use cases, everything from entertainme...
nt, um, too shopping to medical training, military training, education. I mean, VR is is gonna affect all industries, all sectors in a very deep way. And so we're gonna look at some of those use cases some of the ways where VR is best served. Um, And, uh, how do you get started, right? What to buy? How do you actually go out and shoot 3 60 yourself? Um, how to stitch and edit 60 once you've shot and where to publish and how to get those views. Um, So, uh, so that's where we talked about today. I guess we'll degrade in, um, some of the consequences of not watching this class. Uh, you know, it's really gonna be what's the consequences of creating bad 60 content and the consequences are dire. The consequences are not just you're gonna induce nausea in your friends and family. The consequences are you might, um, repel them from adopting VR all that much quicker. You know, we have sort of the burden is on our shoulders to be ableto to be able to bring new audiences to the fold here in VR. And and so if we start creating bad VR if we start creating um, content that's designed to negatively effect or maybe negligently ah, designed to negatively affect our audiences. We can, um we can see you know what happens. We can see that people don't come back to VR. Famously, James Cameron created the Avatar. The movie, uh, he he watched VR for a moment, said, uh, not that into it, you know? And so that's a big problem that, you know, maybe he saw the wrong thing. So we should definitely be thinking about how do we carry content That's not gonna drive audiences away from VR. That's gonna encourage more and more adoption. So that's really where I think we have a big opportunity. And lastly, you get me. And I've gotten work with some of the coolest companies in the world at this point. Everyone from Google, the Oculus to the United Nations on Discovery Channel
