Printing Your Photos
One of my favorite things about photography is printing. As you can see the photos behind me, I like printing photos um and having them on a wall, something to inspire something to say something, something to show, you know, something to have memories with. Um back in the day phones maybe weren't necessarily that great and ready to print. Um It wasn't that long ago that photos started popping up uh from your smartphones, right? They are becoming advanced enough. And as Sam talked about earlier with resolution, they have enough mega megapixels to print um some of these photos, actually, these sunsets and here I'll put them up on screen. These photos were taken with my phone and I have printed them as big as an 11 by 14 and they hold up enough. I think this photo specifically of a sunset uh with a lifeguard tower in the foreground is sort of a really prime example of how I was able to be in that moment out on a walk. I didn't have my camera with me, but I had my mobile phone with me. I w...
as able to take the image in that moment and print it and now I have it on my wall forever. So, where do you go get these things printed? Well, once you're done shooting your shooting with your phone, editing your photo, you can send it online to several print shops and they will print it and send it to you. In fact, one really cool thing about doing that is they'll tell you what resolution, what size you can print and still maintain the quality and it will actually detect your file. And you can tell if it is going to be printable and maintain quality. That's one cool thing about doing that online. Something that I do is I go to my local print shop. It's a mom and pop store, it's local and I take my phone in or I'll have emailed it to myself without having to lose any resolution or I'll put it on a flash drive and I will talk to them and see what capability they have of printing uh on what kind of paper you can do fine art paper, you can do math paper, you can do glossy paper. The big thing is that your phone these days does have the capability to print images. Now, not all phones were able to print a big giant, you know, 50 by 50 billboard, but a lot of them will be able to print a nice sized 11 by 14, 8 by 10 and definitely a four by six or uh five by seven image on uh regular photos, stock paper. Another way to print photos is just at home, right? A lot of printers these days will print images onto photo quality paper. Now, you have to have a printer that is set up to do photo printing. And even now again, we have a camera on a mobile phone. We have an editing on a mobile phone. We can share directly the internet, but you can also print directly from your phone to a Wi Fi capable printer with photo paper. And you haven't even touched a laptop yet, right? So now you can print images directly from your phone to a printer. Uh and you'll be able to really see the quality of your phone. Now, most printers are going to be small enough where you really won't have to worry about the quality, right? The biggest printers can print, you know, big giant phones, but basic printers like your home printer will print an eight by 10 from pretty much any mobile phone perfectly. As long as you didn't crop in and change the resolution. The quality that you will be able to get from a current mobile phone is fine for an eight by 10, even 11 by 14, you should be fine. Well, ultimately sharing your photo online and social media is a great way to expose yourself or your business and your photography, printing your photo is a whole nother thing. It's something that you can use to share your art. It's tangible and honestly, it will make you a better photographer. I can't tell you how many times I've printed things out and it's really pushed me as a photographer. Like, oh man, I wish I would have done that or oh man, that, that is great. I wanna replicate that and do that again. Give my princes gifts, share them at home. Remember the moments that you're in. Um So I highly recommend printing your photos if you can.

Good course for everyone starting out and needed to have some more basic info beyond the common snap shot. I had wished for more info on using mobile in the more professional field like when switching from camera to mobile. Additional lenses and flashes and things like that. But this course was obviously not targeted at this. So overall still a nice brush up.

Definitely geared to beginners, but the class has a lot of good information. As an advanced camera photographer still trying to get to know my phone camera better, I learned a few things I didn't know (like you can use portrait mode for selfies, what hyper lapse is and the VSCO app). Nice job!

Great class. Well organized and clearly presented. Would be very good for beginners and mid level users. highly recommend.
