Special Effects for Video
I love LED lights because you can use them for stills and video. We can change light modifiers. We can change color temperatures, we can change colours but if you're using them specifically for videos you can do even more. You can use special effects. So I've got this Paavo tube here. I can turn it on. I can make it look like a cop car. I can make it look like a different candle or flash or flash timer. I've got a storm mode. S. O. S. Mode can make it look like lightning or anything I want really with this Paavo tube and the cool thing is all of the different forms of lights that we're using have all the same effects and so you can create all kinds of things using your imagination. So that's what we're gonna do here. So we're gonna widen out a little bit. And the cool thing is we have just to lights and we're going to emulate what life was like for Theresa right after college or during college. So use your imagination if you will and imagine that we have an old apartment here and she's...
sitting on a couch. We've got an old tv here that she's going to be watching. There's a light bulb up here that's just not working very well because the wiring isn't very good. It's going to be going out. Theresa is a little tired we want to create that scene with our lighting. So we're going to focus on the lighting. That's why we didn't build out a set over here we have a camera sort of low this is going to film just Teresa nothing else. So our imagination we'll see the T. V. And the bad light and all of that kind of stuff. So up here We have a nan light for is a b. I have it set at the special effects bad light and so it can flicker on and off as if we had a tungsten light going out. So let's start by turning that on someone turn this guy on. So now what we're gonna do is we're gonna turn off the lights illuminating me and now we have Theresa she looks sort of cool she's just hanging out there. But what will happen is it's gonna start flickering because we have that special effect on and it's sort of random as a bad light bulb would be. So it's just sort of hanging out if you're making a video this is gonna be great. Now what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go here and I'm going to turn on my force of 500. I have it set to TV so it's a TV effect. So what it will do is just gonna start flickering on and off with that weird TV flicker that you'll see through people's windows and so we can look and see this scene and so it's Theresa watching tv at night with a bad light bulb above her head and if I want to make it just look like a T. V. Set. I can do that. I can turn off my bad bulb now. We just have her looking at tv. That's pretty cool. Or I like this other little effect here where we have a bad light bulb turned on. The thing is you can use your imagination and create just about any scene conceivable. It's really really cool and I love that you can do that. It's the special effects that you get on all of the forsa lights. That's really really cool. So special effects use your imagination and create something awesome.

This is a very useful class for who want to start shooting video or photo with constant light. Creative Live should make more class on videography.
