Class Introduction
hello world good morning and welcome to location lighting one one with lizzy adler here on creative live my name is russ andy's I'm going to be your host for this three day workshop where we are going to dive and do everything that you need to know to get started with location lighting so folks with that I'm ready to introduce the woman of the hour now lindsey adler is a fashion photographer based out of new york city who we have had many times here on creative life because she was not only an amazing photographer but she also has a incredible ability to actually articulate and explain how she does what she does so we're excited to bring out once again lindsay adler help me out everybody how are you doing today lindsay and I am beyond awesome ion dawson what is beyond awesome like have him take care of me okay don't tell them I don't know I want a secret nobody else heard that at all so let's stop briefly about this course that we're going to do now this is structured a little bit inte...
restingly because you hear the name location lighting and then you say hold on guys you're standing in the studio that's a little bit weird well we did that differently for a reason what we did was we had to actually go out and record a ton of pre video on location tell us about the experience of that a little bit so I got to shoot in new york so we've got some central park we've got it against the water it's beautiful but then I was able to get nighttime and high noon and I was able to get some cloud it was able to get a mix of things that you just here in seattle I would normally assume we'd only have the option of midday cloudy way would have cloudy between the hours of nine and four yeah so we were able teo switch it up a little bit so what we're going to do throughout the day is basically we're going to play a small clip that talks about a certain subject and we'll come back and ask questions about it we'll talk about it so throughout the day that's how we're going to structure that you'll also be doing a little bit of demo here on dh jumping over to the other side of the room to kind of do some demo as we need teo as we need to explain things so that's how the class is going to work I'm really excited now this is a one a one level class so this is kind of an entry level we're talking about the things that people need to know before they go out and try it for the first time now a couple things we're not talking about we're not talking about specifically howto work your gear yeah so there's a lot of classes that'll do that for you but it's not like put it this way for every different speed light you hit a different button so we're not we're not going to go there but I will definitely help but what you're looking for in different type of gear like the considerations all the things to make educated decisions just not none of that button so because there are the same concepts on almost every piece on every speed light will have the same ability to do these things the actual button you press is going to be different so we're not going to be going into that again like you said there are plenty of other classes or you khun read the instruction manual and figure out how to do that so we're talking about concepts and we're talking about what you're gonna want to think about as you go out and are shooting in various situations so I think we have one other thing we need to do first we've got a couple lovely people who you will be seeing through out the day we just wanted to briefly introduce them we're not gonna have a mike the other day but we want to give him a chance to say hi introduce themselves guys come on out everybody give it a go round of applause for sydney and seamen like it's like a celebrity uh these are my two lovely interns that have come out to help me and so they have been drafted to also be some of my models so that you audience members don't have to be its a little pressure off but they'll be helping me make this possible so I was gonna have them introduce themselves hi my name is sidney uh I'm an assistant nd I learned I wouldn't have it any other way oh uh what facebook website whatever you want uh saudi prince qi you confined me on sydney prince qi dot com I do porch it's for women anything else in between this is thanks for introducing me said name I'm stephen and I am also an intern for lindsay and it's the best thing had happened to me in new york you can find me at stephen turner photography dot com or on facebook my pages stephen turner photography as well and I like to shoot a lot of beauty and is that stephen with a p a trophy of being spelled correctly thes really feisty that's what we didn't mike e have so shocked that your assistant it would be if I see that makes no sense to me whatsoever alright guys want to get to know you thank you very much and we'll see you throughout the day so everybody I think we're ready to get started

Lindsey Adler is one of the best and most engaging photography instructors in the USA. I highly recommend this lighting course. It felt more like a 101 and a 102 course than just a basic course. She teaches in a way that makes learning alot of fun and the amount of time & effort that she puts into her video and class presentations are second to none. Her classes are well worth their weight in gold and you will walk away with a wealth of knowledge!
