Golden Rules Of A Thriving Community
So facebook has done a really good job now in helping facebook group admin or community leaders in modeling communities better in building meaningful connections among their members by introducing group rules. So just like any organization, a community requires rules that are gonna guide existing and new members to function properly. So these are some examples of rules that you can use in your community and take advantage as well. One be kind insulting bullying other members. It's just not gonna be accepted. You don't condone foul language. Breaking these rules can get you a warning, doing repeatedly, will get you bad stick to the topic. I think this is an important one as well. We only allow post comments related to the group's activity. No spamming, asking the right questions, posting the same content repeatedly might get you removed banned due to rule violations. Zero bully zone. Make sure that your every single member feels safe. Yes, you're gonna have conflict, but bullying of any...
kind. It's just not allowed. It degrades the community and things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity are just not tolerated when it comes to bullying. And I think this is a very important one that you want to keep in mind and add to your route rules used to search option and this maybe is not a rule, but it's something to for people to keep in mind so that you avoid cluttering the group with similar questions. Ask people to search the feed before asking the question most likely someone already asked the question before and you want to give them the opportunity to find it so that you don't get the same question over and over again. No self promotion, do not share content links with content, products, services campaigns, which are, you know, created or help people promote themselves. And I think this is an important one as well, because you want to keep your content valuable and you want to focus on educating, helping your community and providing value unless you're building a community, that's a marketplace. No surveys, survey style post. This goes against facebook rules. And so because you're collecting information, you might get banned and you also don't want other members collecting information from your community and especially personal information from other group. Members report Rule breaking. If you see a post comment of violence or rules reported to the advance to not verbally attack the author of said comment post. This is important as well, so that your members know that they can report things to you and you have a process in place to manage these types of posts or comments. Remember, your rules are going to help you manage conflict better and talk to the admin team. I like this one because you want to have an open channel conversation with existing and new members. So if someone has any questions concerns, they should be able to contact message the admin for help at the end of the day as a community leader, that's what you're there for. You can copy, paste these rules from the exercise and use them within your group. So you can pick up to 10 rules for your group which rules you select. It's gonna depend really on the type of group that you're starting and your ultimate objectives. You should update your rules and just check them every quarter. And that's what I recommend. Usually you want to stay up to date with your community needs, as your community evolves, you might want to change certain rules, you might want to add certain rules. Your facebook rules or group rules should be dynamic and should evolve as your community evolves as well. The last thing I want to say is that you also can upend your group rules along with your membership questions, so that when someone request to join within your questions, if you go to the bottom, you can add this button and activate it and what this will do in this option is that your new members or people who request to join your group can review the rules before joining and they're also aware of what to expect and what is expected of new members by joining your facebook group
