Collaboration Day
Welcome back. Today is collaboration day. So what is collaboration? Collaboration is when a number off people who like each other and respect each other s subject matter experts and specialists come together mutually respectful to achieve one outcome. So collaboration isn't a bunch of people coming together just bumbling along. But it really is the deciding factor. To come to great collaboration is to who is the best one on the team for any particular topic and or for any particular task. Better and have that person execute that task. And remember, we had talked about your super skill. We had talked about strutting your stuff. Well, that's what you need now, because when you are clear about that, now you go in and you can say Hey, raising my hand, I'm really good at that. So why don't I take that portion? And why don't you take that portion? Because I know you're really good at that. Builds this incredible amazing collaboration. First part off this there is a principle I call give to g...
et what does give to get mean. It means sometimes you have to contribute first in order to get something back. It's not like you know you can't just stand and you know powder and say, Hey, people give it to me because I deserve it. But what are you going to do for other people that will demonstrate that you have this mutual respect and this desire for them to succeed? I look at collaboration almost like an infinity sign, right? So when you put good stuff in and good stuff keeps circulating and everybody is going to be happy, the next principle is make it about them. That is sometimes a little bit difficult to do because we think, but I want to get this out. I want to get the promotion. I want to get the opportunity. I want everybody to notice them. But if you help other people to get what they want, guess what. The chances that they're going to help you to get what you want are, of course, infinitive Lee larger and greater, because that's just the way this principle works and finally contribution. You want to contribute, and you want to do this openly and generously and often without asking for anything in return. Because the tit for tat works sort of in a long term strategy. It kind of doesn't really work when you say, Well, I'm going to do this for you and you're going to do theirs for me that it's almost like it's a bargain thing. So what's today's lesson? Guess what today's lesson is. Complement and acknowledge. Other team members do this throughout the organization. Great job. You done a phenomenal job. Thank you so much for helping me out on this. You've been a phenomenal support in that. So think about all the people we've helped you, including possibly the person and payroll who keeps cutting your checks on time, make a quick phone call and say, You know what? I just wanted to tell you. I really appreciate the system that you set up because my paycheck comes in on time and that makes me very happy. And I just wanted to, you know, stop and take a moment and say Thank you. That's what's going to make people notice you. And guess what's gonna happen when you say something nice to somebody. They're Mawr inclined to say something nice about you in return and guess what that does. It builds up your confidence. So what is the task here today. I want you to go to Page eight and just go over the list and fill out who you want to compliment and then go ahead and do that. So you are going to business generous, complimenting, handing out machine for all day or all week, or however long, and just dive into how good that feels when you tell other people how great they are, because in return they'll tell you the same thing.
