All right, we are into the Playback mode now, so, features controlling the playback of the camera. The camera has a perfectly good delete button on the outside of it, but if you need to delete multiple photos, it will be a little less button-pressing and a little bit quicker to do it here, by going through multiple images or all images with a particular date. In the View Mode of this, you can look at different groups of images, depending on which folder they're in or what type of image they are. If you want to have a group of images displayed, we saw earlier having nine, you could have 25 images displayed if you would like to see more images. Nine is fine for most people, but you can adjust it. Display Rotation: when you shoot a photograph that's vertical, how do you want it to appear on the back of the camera? And so Manual's a good option if you're doing playback shows on computers and TV screens that don't turn sideways. As far as the camera itself, if you want to get the maximum si...
ze, Off is a pretty nice option. And a new option on this is the Auto option, so it will automatically rotate the image. And you might want to turn vertical images, you might want to turn the camera vertically to get the largest image size possible, so that you can see that image as easily as possible. So I think Auto is the best overall system to go with. Select Playback Media, so when you're playing back images, do you want to use Slot 1 or Slot 2? You can also copy images and so, if you've filled up a memory card and you wanna back it up and you don't have a computer, just copy everything from 1 to 2. You can take your camera and you can plug it in to a TV and you can do a little slideshow and there'll be a little bit of controls in here as to which images you're gonna show and how long they're gonna be shown on screen. If you are doing a slideshow from the camera, you can rotate images so that you can see them properly and people don't have to turn their heads sideways. If you want to take an image and enlarge an image, you can do that, that's often good for checking to make sure that you have got proper focus in there. And this is a nice shortcut button, if you have one button...remember how you could reprogram four buttons in the playback mode? This would be a good thing to have as a one-button, magnify, jump in. Now, you do have the AF on right now, but if you want to change it, you can change it to some other button. When it does jump in for magnification, how much magnification do you want to have? Do you want to have the standard amount or the amount that you had in the previous image? Depends on how much you look at images and how much you're magnifying them. And then where do you want it to enlarge? Do you want it to enlarge in the center, just kind of a good general place, or where you had the focusing point on the camera? And that's usually the most important point that we want to check focus on, and so that seems like a good option for a lot of people. The Protect option will simply prevent you from deleting images via the garbage can button on the back of the camera. Now, you can still format that memory card, there's a lot of ways of losing those images. It does put a very low level of protection on those images. If you do want to hook your camera up to a printer, you can print directly from the camera and this will give you a few controls on what those prints will be and be like. We saw this earlier, where I was playing back a video of Kenna waving and I grabbed a stillframe from it. So you can come in here and you can grab that as well. So, just a different way of getting to that same feature.

I've taken lots of John's classes as my photography journey has unfolded. Like all good teachers, John has a fantastic ability to take concepts which are complex and could be overwhelming, and making them accessible and much simpler. I'm lucky enough to own this amazing camera, I'm sure I'll get even more enjoyment from using it after taking this class - John has done so much of the hard work of learning away, now I feel like I can just start enjoying it!
