today we're gonna talk about channels all about Photoshopped channels. If you are not familiar with channels, you probably heard of them. But what are they actually used for what we know about them? Why do we use them? Well, in this video, we're going to show you all the different things we can do with channels. And they can tell you there's a lot of cool things that we do with channels far beyond just the very basic adjustments. A lot of people don't know much about channels. It seems to be kind of this weird part of photo shop and we're gonna jump right in here and show you what channels are, but you can do with them start with a simple and get really in depth with cool burke with channels. So when you look at a photo shop filed this image a zall, these images are are an RGB mode. So when we talk about RGB, we actually are talking about Are Red Channel are Green Channel on her blue channel of information? , it has nothing to do with layers. Think of layers is putting together a sandwich where you have the bread and the meat and cheese and bacon. I had to get the bacon in there. Channels are actually the ingredients that make up the entire image, So if you're thinking about baking some bread, you have your flower and you have your yeast. So these are the actual ingredients that make up the entire image and weaken. Specifically, go in here and target these channels for color adjustment and a whole lot more than just color adjustment. But we're going to start off with just very simple color adjustment, using and targeting channels, a couple things about channels that people normally ask me. Why do channels always display in black and white? Well, when you look at a channel, what you see here? This is the Red Channel that we have selected. We see the amount of red that is actually in the image, and think of a channel is literally just a black and white piece of information or black and white image. And where we have lighter areas, we have less information and darker areas. We have more information or color. When you put these all together all these air going to combine together into what we call the composite. What's interesting is when you click on an individual channel, it always appears in grayscale. But when you click and you click on the visibility of another channel, then it appears in color, adding those two channels together. So if I turn off one channel or turn off the other channel, they'll always appear in color. But if I go when they turn them all off, they will appear in black and white. So people have always asked to. They're like, Well, why can't we preview the channels and color we can if you go into the photo shop menu under preferences and shoes interface weaken, turn on the channels and color. And when we do, they looked completely different, because when we see these, it's literally like looking through really heavy stained glass. And this is not something that most photo shop users are used to seeing. So, yes, you can view them in color.
