Creating a Garment: Tool Dress

okay now I'm gonna create something just completely different um okay here we go I'm well mackenzie thank you okay so mckenzie we're going tow bring it are black tool I think I've got more tool than that and we're going to do something a bit different with her I went to a really inexpensive oh let's say you know what instead of putting her in black tulle wait a minute give me the garbage bags I need all of them actually I think I'll wrap you in garbage bags I think that the way cooler that might work really well okay first things first actually you know you know what we'll do our black tulle because this will take a little more time ok so let's grab our black too long let's get started I want to create a sheath on her kind of a long a just a long dress so what I did is I started out I just went to the like the forever twenty one some little silly store that had a very simple dress I think I paid forty dollars for this dress it's nothing fancy and I liked it because it hit had had a lit...

tle bit of beating on it but it wasn't shine ebi if it's shiny it looks cheap if it's not shiny it doesn't look so it doesn't look cheap now the top of this dress we're just going to leave it alone that's going to be the top of our gown so now we're going to take the fabric and all I'm going to do with this is just this is just gonna be so much fun you're gonna love this oh I need that you know what I need to have is do we have black ribbon if not we'll use black tape can I use your black gaffer's tape okay this is even easier to dok okay so here we did the black duck tape gaffer's tape bring it over here and you are going to die laughing when you see how this is done is the dumbest easiest thing in the world but it's really important that you use something flat and met what I'm gonna do is I want a bit of play up here like this my goal is to cover a bit of her bust in the front like that okay we'll do that maybe it just kind of covers it up a little bit okay so hold your arms up scooter pie yeah so we'll start the tape on this side right here go around the front but don't don't touch it toe her body yet can I get some help me with this for a second I need you to help me with the bet the back of this just hold that right there so it doesn't it doesn't go anywhere okay and it's really important that we keep it straight because I don't want it toe teo twist okay so now I'm going to go and actually you know what hanging about here you know we're going to do with her we're going I have no idea what I'm doing I mean because I never do it the same way twice so hang on a second I'm not what you'd pull it off the back for a second because what we're gonna do is we're gonna make this go around the back okay right I need you to switch places girls go around this way this is going to be something in the back there you go keep going turn around okay yeah here we go let me under this you got it okay now we're going to go across the back first yeah that's even better okay so let's start in the back so grab that tape right there okay you got it and let's hold it right here at her waist okay don't pull it tight yet because they were not even close to being done yet okay so we're gonna create we got a nice little bustle going here and now let's take this ok and now what I won't die if it does get a little bit kinked up it won't we won't die because what we're going to do is we'll um we'll do something different and we'll cross the bridge okay ready okay go ahead and get it tight there okay good right there's fine and just hold it right there and now I'm gonna twist it I want a twisted because what'll happen when you twist the tool is that it gives it a bit of fullness I want to have a bit of fullness in this fabric right here I wanted to be down low to the elect to the floor okay and give me now let's cover this right here okay got it there okay you got that right there beautiful I love this back is going to really pretty okay stay right there and now let me grab this again and we're gonna twist again excellent like this okay let go I mean pull it back okay that's going to be good there put that right in the middle okay great now we've got our first layer done case now let me take this and we're going to just make the belt I mean basically the belt for the first time around we'll cover that as we go because I want this on her waistline so it's okay and they're ok so now we've got kind of the basis of our are beginning now what we can do is we're going to take actually this is going to be the train on the back of this dress I like this a whole bunch yeah this is cute so now let me have one of those safety pins and we're gonna use maybe a couple of safety pins to just pull it in the back we want a bustle it in the back it'll look kind of fun and tell me if I if I poke you okay I don't want to stick you ouch okay now what I want you to see is I want to look at the back turn around q t okay what do you think of that right now doesn't look cool okay so now we've kind of started our little you know are basically we have our form and I would go now and I would just make it even fuller pulleys pieces out so now we have the basis of a really cool gown turned towards me this way so now I want I want it fuller on the sides and I believe I have enough tool I think I've got a bunch of don't have any more tool in the back oh fantastic ok great I knew I had a whole bunch by the way let me tell you what about this tool this stuff is so dumb cheap guys okay I bet you I have maybe maybe one hundred dollars invested in all of it the tool is like I went teo joanne's fabrics and it's like eighty nine sets of yours when you buy it on sale when I bought it on sale I bought oh gosh I think I bought fifty yards and it's the wide stuff you want the really wide like the sixty inch wide tool because it gets it's fluffy or for you to work with so the only thing I'm gonna do now is now that I've kind of laid the basic basis for my dress I'm gonna twist it and then we're going to just make it we're going to start going it will do another belt actually this will be good

Ratings and Reviews

I almost didn't bought this course due to low rating and what other reviewers were saying about her, but because it was on sale at incredibly low price that i decided to bite the bullet. And I am so glad I did. First of, for those reviewer that find her offensive, because she talks loud or make some jokes to her models or her audience, i don't think that it is offensive at all and neither did her audience or everyone in the studio. As a matter of fact, they were enjoying it. And I did too, was laughing while watching them laugh and having a good time. There was nothing wrong with the audio. I heard her just fine. I found her class to be the best class ever because she only not answers questions by theory, she demonstrate them live with the participation of her audience and the creative live crew and that's what made her class very interesting and not boring. She also uses real people and not models with perfect sizes or figures and it really helped me a lot because i have a challenge when it comes to posing plus sized people. I love her sense of bluntness, humor and at the same time, all the wonderful nuggets of wisdom she shared to her audience. I had purchased tons of creative class about photography and to tell you honestly, i haven even watched the full content on some of these classes because i get sleepy and bored but with Bambi's class, i watched her class in just 2 days without even feeling bored. I don't write reviews and in fact this is my first time to write a review here on creative live because i just feel the need to say that it's very unfair for her to be criticized liked that. I love you Bambi, I love your personality, I love your style and the information you taught were very invaluable. Thank you.

Loved the invaluable lessons! I can't wait to go through them all again. They are jam packed with valuable and tactical information that creatives on every level can take from. Her energy and personal style creates a great experience! I can only imagine how cool it would be to take a class from her in person! She is such a treat and so inspiring! I LOVE how enthusiastic Bambi is about the questions she receives and encourages phototgraphers to continue to grow, learn, and think out of the box. Thank you creative live! I feel like there should've been something like fire works at the end because she did outstanding!

I’ll be honest. Ms Cantrell moves very fast, but her experience, humor and confidence are infectious. I thought I would check out a lesson or two and ended up watching and listening to her entire program. She is clear about her process and why it works so well. Her portraits are beautiful, whether individual or group situations. I thoroughly enjoyed the presentations, and I am a landscape and pet photographer. But I feel like I learned a lot about seeing, and was reminded of approaches to running your own creative business that are valuable for anyone. I have been very impressed by the professional instructors in every one of the CreativeLive courses I’ve watched or bought. It’s not every professional who can teach! I know. I am one who could not handle classroom situations. So happy I was able to join in on these classes. Thank you, Bambi, for all of your energy, and for sharing your knowledge with all of us. This was quite a ride!
