Overview of Today's Topics
Welcome again. Thanks, guys. For being here today, we are going to talk about money and in backed today's topic is called. You want me to charge? What for? That. Yes, I do. In fact, you know, a couple of it was about a year ago. Now I did a flash consulting session with a bunch of people just like yourselves makers, artist designers. I think I did about twenty sessions in about six hours. It was a long day. In fact, I think that was the last time I worked this hard, but one of the major takeaways from that day was that I told eighty eight point two percent that was how the math worked out off the people that I consulted with that they too double double the price of their work. What I find so often is that makers, artists, designers are under charging, undervaluing their work for a number of different reasons, and over the course of today, we are going to bust through money myths. We are going to examine all the reasons we undercharged. We're going to reframe the way we think about mone...
y and earning and price so that we can not only feel good about it ourselves, but see the value of our work from our customer's perspective, just like we did yesterday. But today is going to be almost exclusively about money. We're going to start off the day talking about kind of the psychology of money, the psychology of value in the next segment, then we're going to get down to the nitty gritty ease of pricing strategies, and I'm going to share some really specific information with use you're definitely going to want to stay tuned for that as well. Then in the afternoon, we're going to bring pricing over to the marketing side, and I think these air these air to issues that people are these are the two areas that people have the most issue with the pricing side and the marketing side, we're going to bring them together and talk about values driven marketing, and then in the last segment we're going to do cem, just hot seat consulting with everyone that's here and do a pricing practical really look at the work that's in each of your shops, each of your online stores, and figure out you know what, what is an appropriate price for things and talk about the product spread that you have and how pricing really affect that. So I think that's something you want to tune in for as well see the stuff in action, so what are today's goals? As I mentioned, we are going to bust your money myths some of these money myths are personal, they're things that they're kind of personal stories that we've told ourselves or that society has told us over and over and over again. Other things are just assumptions that we make about our customers or the marketplaces that we sell in, so we're going bust that stuff so that you have no maur. Excuse this for charging what you need to be charging for your work, and we're going to understand how to price our work based on value, so understand on price based on value, as opposed to just the dollars and cents of materials, labor and overhead, although that's extremely important, and then we're going to learn how to leverage our values and the value of our work to create marketing that that reemphasizes the price that helps our customers understand why are prices are the way that they are and trust me, it's not all about the fact that it's had made of the fact that it's a craft it has to do with really connecting them to their values and connecting them to the value that they want in what they're purchasing.

I loved this workshop. It gave me so many good actionable things to do to move my business forward. This is the 2nd course I've taken from Tara Gentile, and I highly recommend anything from her. She knows her stuff, and pushes you to build a community around your business to make it a sustainable and meaningful business. I also met a lot of wonderful ladies who are on similar journeys. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this course!

Amazing workshop! Such a mass of useful information and ideas. I will be implementing them for the next year probably. It was wonderful that it was specifically geared towards selling what you make, not a lot else like this out there. I loved the format with the five entrepreneurs who asked specific questions and then were helped individually by Tara. She helped them to tailor an approach that fit exactly their business needs. Now I just have to get organized and start making it happen!
