Navigating the Shopify Dashboard
Yeah, it's time to open up your Shopify store. I'm actually going to show you not just tell you how to do this. You can follow along and go step by step in the process with me to see exactly how to set it up. By the end of this module, your store will be completely set up and you'll be ready to start marketing. Here we are on the Shopify dashboard. Now, I'm going to show you the basics to open your Shopify store and a couple of the features on the dashboard. It's all very simple. You basically just need to click around on stuff and familiarize yourself with everything. You can't break anything really. Um you just need to go through and kind of click on each option. And so that's what we're gonna do right now. So to start first off at the top right, you'll see that. It has my name and it has my profile picture there and it says that my shop is called the bark shop because we're gonna be selling niche related items in the dog niche. And then in the center here, right out of the gate, it'...
s gonna tell me I need to add products to start selling. It's also going to tell me I can customize my own line store and I can buy my own personal domain, which is definitely recommended. It's great for branding. On the left hand side, we've got our home button and that's where we are right now. It's kind of our home base with all of our notifications or daily sales and so on. Then we have the orders tab. Now the orders tab have, the gate obviously is going to be blank, but once you start producing orders, you'll be able to see every single sale that's generated in here, the name of the customer, the products, they order. The price that they paid for it. All of that information is going to be right here in your orders tab. Then you have the products tab which is going to list all of the inventory that you have uploaded to your store. Now we're doing print on demand. So all of this stuff that we're selling is going to be automatically generated and placed on our store for us within a couple of clicks. So we're going to have an entire store generated with literally within probably less than an hour. The parental demand products I can build in about 5 to 10 minutes and they make it very simple and we'll show that to you in a little bit. Um as you come down you've got the customer's tab. Now the customer's tab is going to give you a list of every single customer that has come to your store and either signed up for an account or made a purchase. So very very cool that you can see all of that data there. That's why I love Shopify. You've got analytics as well. So analytics is a very powerful feature that Shopify makes available and it shows you basically your overall sales, How many visitors you have? I love this. They show you how many repeat customers you got all this. Just amazing data, total orders. How much money is your average um you know customer spending on the store? So very very powerful analytics come with Shopify. Then you've got down here, you've got discounts. So within a couple of seconds you can generate a discount code for your customers. You've got the app store. And this is where you can install some powerful apps. There's lots of free apps and some of them are paid apps. Uh We're gonna be installing some print on demand apps pretty soon. And then you've got your online store now your online store is where you manage your theme and you manage your navigation menu and your domain, and you manage all of that stuff on your online store. And at the bottom left, a lot of people miss this is the settings menu. Now in the settings menu is where you're gonna be able to go over your shipping and handling how much you're charging people for that. And then basic account information, customize your checkout process. This is going to be a big one for us, and you just kind of walk through and click on this stuff and you'll see it's all very simple, it's all very self explanatory, but I'm gonna walk you through the entire process right now. So the first thing that we're going to do is we're gonna get started choosing our theme. Okay? So when you sign up for Shopify, they give you all of this great stuff. But they allow you to go in and utilize their free themes to build a beautiful and high converting website or shop as I call them. So go ahead. Go to the next video. All right. Because I want to start that on a clean slate and we're gonna go to the online store section and we're gonna choose a theme. We're gonna customize it.
