Photograph Movement with Fast Moving Subjects

And we have a little girl we have two dads and their little girl and we're gonna have motion so the game we're still staying with fast motion and we're going to have them swing her towards me and I'm going to be adjusting her hair and my angle I'm shooting from different things shooting with different lighting on dh the whole thing is keep the shutter speed up and keep doing it until we've got the shot we want all right so you guys in the camera and while we're getting viewing it but to get the shot we want what we also really mindful of what we care about from a mood perspective what's that get keeping a fun you say that like it's fun keeping it thank you you're throwing the game you're gonna hold on her but you're gonna teach guy running the side that looked for miley you know what I did it she gives herself into it and then when you do it you're gonna be like superwoman I think I'm thinking wonder woman yeah your arms at ready yeah here let me get the other by that and you'll be lik...

e that to the camera okay all right let's do it towards the light so we'll go out here ok so it's gonna be here harish here had even a and I'm worried acting where to do this because the lights dropping a lot I think red eight o'clock now it's really dropping when I'm selecting the location my strong consideration is where do I have the best light? Because I need the most like possible to be able to manage the settings I'm not caring about backdrop are all that sort of stuff because I'm going right in on the scene anyway fly towards me like with all of your might okay, okay, let me oh, anything okay? A little more than the tree behind us on dh then hold on don't do anything great yet I'm gonna just kick up a little bit no, no, not yet don't do it yet home on I am trying to change one lighting thing I feel like you're ready. All right, woman I'm just going to switch my focus, you know, I'm switching it I want to do more of an auto focus do you know that is just go with it so yes. Ok, on on three you're gonna do it ready? Um, did you say you're ready? Okay, by the way, one other thing when I'm mentioning how I'm switching my focus and switching to more continuous focus versus a single shot focus because she's going to be going everywhere the reason I actually say that out loud isn't because I'm being filmed for creative life it's because I do that on sheets all the time I engaged my subjects and often what I get out of that is them looking at me like why are you talking in this world language and it's funny but it's helping me because I'm trying to stay so engaged with them I know I have to change all my settings as I'm changing every situation and I'm thinking it anyway so I say it out loud and make it an engagement tool so what I might say is the lift of the camera okay at this point it's getting really really bright so I'm gonna have to make sure I drop my eyes because it's too high it's not that good yeah and you know, look at me like that like yeah, that sounds good and it's gonna be a great photograph, but I'm just I'm trying to walk through it my head because I can't do them but I don't want to do them separately if I leave my subject turn away and set everything up. I've lost this and I worked the whole shoot to get this so I need to engage this but also make sure I'm thinking through him doing and I just make it part of the way we interact I think this is experimental we're just gonna shoot into doing it and I just god that's so here okay again I love her bangs that one quick modification is miserable like you hate that so when she's swings that denny david, lean out so I can see ok, ok, that I was missing him, so I need, you know, go, I like that one. Did you see that? And that's about right? I'm gonna shoot six or seven of them and say, I like that one, you know? But but I'm working towards being able to show the one of just her where she's not blocking somebody else. I think that we're hearing about her hair when you gave everything you miserable like you hate my god. So when she's swings that denny david, lean out because this is the incremental small ships constantly reposing what as you're going, but we're not going through anything so she's blocking him she's not perfect that's what I love how are you guys feel like better with my hair down? Alright. Oh, so he's saying it's better with their hair down. So when she first showed up, she had her hair in a ponytail with a really cute ribbon and it was adorable, but she was racing around moving around. I could see it being something where she looked like she need to be free, like she looked like she need to be free so I asked if we could take the hair down and okay and so I took the hair down brush it out and it just goes with the mood so well at some point I think we tied it up a little bit in the front while we did there swinging so wouldn't go down in front of her face but the parents often say that like yeah I see what you did that that that fits right now are we all the way wait okay ready part again this time the swinging is gonna be harder because you're gonna stay where you are germany's debt back in your step back you could be right on the edge okay? Okay just back okay, so the bill here is already got what I wanted that shot I showed you that's the one I wanted on dh now we're just gonna play and get grabbed a few more no, I'm so sorry you're out thank you that's a much better directional command out what that's good the way you like looking at the ground, huh? You gotta look at her. All right? Where did that at the little hair band made a little bread. I'm just going to the top of our has scripted this I'm just like you know what he did for me go ceo hee hee good and then I think I go I changed ah, the angle to go under me just show you those real quick ones like these so this is what we do. I'm time now switching the angle and shooting under. You see the difference there. And then I've got be mindful of making sure that when I light it, I'm still keeping sky, and they're these again, are all raw images, and then I'm completely on my back underneath it, just getting this, like, in this kind of image, like there's, so much possibility, what we could do with the way this hair flies and every like that, I love that.

Thank yo Tamara Lackey and Creative Live for such an amazing course. Every tool that is needed to maintain a successful business is in this course. Tamara's appreciation for love and family are so apparent in her style of interaction with people and methods of photographing them. In this class she shares everything from the basics of connecting with your clients to the importance of in person sales sessions and how to do them without being uncomfortable. I love Tamara's energy and sense of humor. She really emphasizes how important it is to be self confident and love what you do. This class is amazing. I can barely sit still through a movie these days, but I was entranced through 3 consecutive days of highly valuable information. I am thankful to have this class in my CL library. I am sure I will refer to it often.

Thank you! Thank you for bringing Tamara back to Creative Live! She is one of my favorite teachers! She has a bubbly effervescence as she teaches. I like her teaching style and never tire of her message in photography. Tamara has a way of working with her models/ clients that makes you want to just jump through the screen to participate in the process! Her portrait stories share her zest for life. She has great business ideas as well as for life and family. A truly balanced instructor for the beginning photog as well as a seasoned professional. Refreshing concepts about how to deal with challenging situations with lighting, posing, and interaction with her families. It's hard to pick a favorite section - the entire class was just great! A wonderful resource for your library to refer back to time and again. Keep up the great work Tamara. You inspire me to get out and shoot!

What can I say- it's Tamara Lackey, so of course it was AMAZING! I learned so much, about relationships, self awareness, lighting, portraiture, posing, gear, marketing, products, I could just go on and on. Tamara has an incredible ability to truly connect with her clients (and her students)- and she taught us how to do it! I admire Tamara on so many levels and I appreciate how much of herself and her own business practices she was willing to share. Her new organization Beautiful Together is inspiring. I will be watching this course over and over. Thank you Tamara Lackey and thank you CreativeLive.
