Make a Jumper
The next thing is we need to make ourselves a little tool. A jumper wire. So all this is gonna take some wire? Um, this is black wire. You can use any color wire you like. This is totally temporary. This is not what we're going to actually sauder in. We're going to use this to test different points to see if we get cool sounds out of them. So I'm gonna take a piece of wire. I'm gonna take it to be about the length of my circuit board, which is about that long. Plus, I don't know, a couple more inches. Um, Max, you don't want this super long, but you want it long enough to connect any two points on it with some to spare. Um, but not a lot. So here we got, so I'm gonna cut it, so I just have the wire. Now I'm going to strip the ends of it. So this is a pair of wire strippers. If you don't have wire strippers, you can use a knife by just kind of carefully flicking off the end. We don't want a ton of extra space about like that. I think you can see that and something about like that. Do th...
at on both ends. So now I've got both ends stripped. Now I'm just gonna kind of fold them down into a right angle. And so this is good wire that will, like, hold its shape when I do stuff. So now I've got two points, like a little stethoscope. Kind of because so now what I can do is basically go like this. I can pick any two points on the circuit board, put one down and another one down, and then, um hear what it sounds like. So I call this a jumper wire. Um, we're going to use it to test.

I am a complete beginner to this topic and I enjoyed watching the free live stream of this course. It taught me enough to get started with some ideas, although I anticipate I'll have to follow up with other YouTube videos to ensure I understand enough for different kinds of toys and techniques. Thanks!
