Safety Gear: Glasses and Shoes
okay. When it comes to safety gear, most of this has to do with sauntering. Sauntering is kind of a tricky thing. I'm gonna give you a little run down on how to sauder when we get to it. But, um, what we're doing with Sauder is we have a very hot gun. Uh, it's not a gun. It's basically a piece of metal. And were, uh, melting this this kind of really thin metal onto a board to make connections. Um, I am not a genius at sauntering. There are people who sought. Our work is like it looks like it was done by a machine. Mine is kind of clumpy, which means it's done by an amateur, which is totally what I am when it comes to suffering. But that's okay. It still works. So, um, what happens when we saw her stuff is that we're melting this little metal wire onto other wires, and sometimes there can be a little pop in there. There's no way to predict it. And when that happens, um, a little bit of Saudi goes flying up into the air, and if it goes in your eyes, you're in deep trouble. So We're alway...
s gonna wear glasses, safety glasses while we're suffering. Now I know you're thinking No, I'm super cool. I don't need to wear safety glasses. No, you do. Shut up. You need to wear safety glasses when you're slaughtering. Um, Casada is gonna go into your eye, and you're gonna be blind forever. Um, so don't do that. Do not sauder without some safety glasses on. I've never gotten any in my eye because I wear safety glasses. I have had it, um, land on my arms fairly often. I think, um, and I get a little burn, you know, you get a little burn on your arm. This stuff is super hot. So, um, it hurts. So long sleeves are also good. I'll just throw that out there. Safety glasses when we're slaughtering long sleeves when we're slaughtering. Um, and the last thing I'll say about stuff you should have for safety. And I don't know if this is true, but, um, people always say to wear shoes. Um, I think that's a good idea. Um, always be wearing shoes because you could drop. You're gonna be working with tools and could drop him on your foot, but also, And this is the part. I don't know if it's true or not. Um, when you do get shocked with a little bit of voltage, it hurts less. If you're grounded with rubber soled shoes. I don't know if that's true or not. Um, that might be a myth, but, um, I've never gotten shocked. So because I'm always wearing she was maybe I don't know. So shoes, I think are good to be wearing, no matter what. Uh, not open toed shoes, shoes like shoes, shoes, not sandals. So put on some shoes, get some safety glasses, and, um where a long sleeve shirt before we do any sauntering. I'm sure I will remind you of this when we get to the suffering part, but that's enough of that. Okay, so the next thing we need to do we need to start taking something apart. So and next video, we're gonna dive in, and we're gonna take apart my little SpongeBob keyboard.

I am a complete beginner to this topic and I enjoyed watching the free live stream of this course. It taught me enough to get started with some ideas, although I anticipate I'll have to follow up with other YouTube videos to ensure I understand enough for different kinds of toys and techniques. Thanks!
