Best Practices to Ensure Follow Through

I love it. Okay, so I want to give you before we finally finally wrap up the best practices that I could give you to ensure follow through right to ensure follow through. And also, uh, speaking as a hippy dippy life coach. It's also allow you doing away the process, right? So we want We don't want this to be a torturously process. We want to have as much fun with it as we can and not be so stressed out. So these are the things that I've learned work best for us. Creative, multi, passionate people. Number one. Make your goals smart, specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely. You might not have noticed, but that's what we did when we went through the phase one example and I said, No, it's not be more active on Instagram. It's post five pictures a week on instagram. Right? So now I hope that you have the eyes to look at the action steps that you have and know whether it is specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely. So feel free to rewrite things now on your snap ...

or as you go through this whole process along the way, just keep your eyes open for that? It will. Actually, it feels like it's harder in the beginning, like it feels like we want to push that away and say, No, no, no, we don't need that. We could just write be more active on Instagram. But if you take the time to actually change that goal and make it smart, you're gonna save more time in the long run. So it's it's hard to see it outfront at first, but that is what happens. Baby says Fill the strongest foundation and the rewards help you follow through. This is worth saying over and over again. I don't care that I said it 100 times already, right? You don't want to wait to find the time you want to make the time, and it helps you to follow through. If you set up that time in advance. If you talk to your family about how like, hey, you want to stay nights to be, you were a snap time. Can you give me an hour after dinner and I'm gonna shut the door and please don't bother me unless the house is on fire like that's gonna help you and then you build in those rewards in order to make it motivating and to celebrate your accomplishments. These blind people are all very happy. They represent the support squad on, and sometimes the support squad like, doesn't make it onto your snap because it might be something that's this really quick thing or not as necessary as the other things. But just, you know, take the time to figure out how you want to be accountable and set up a structure for it and what's gonna make this fun and enjoyable for you, right? Whether it's to find an accountability buddy, join a membership site, um, meet up group in real life, hiring a coach to work with, set that up for yourself in the way that you work best. Really. Let your family help you. Let them help you write. Talk to them about this class walking through your snap. Share with them about Plan B. Listen to their thoughts and concerns without getting defensive as best. You can write and share your work and your results and remember they're here to support you and love you. And if they seem unsupportive, it's because they're worried about you and they want to keep you safe. Start a wind book. This is one of my favorite tools that I pretty much force on everyone. So this is a place for you to store all your compliments and your thank you's. There's no right or wrong place to put it. It's whatever is gonna be easy access for you and quick and easy for you to do so It could be, Ah, we're document and keep on your computer or folder that you start in your computer and keeping Screenshots or something I use ever know for this I have a wind book and ever know it. And because usually I get my compliments and I think use online. So I'm able to just highlight the text and click on the little Evernote, but not my browser and say, You know, put this in the wind book of and it's a place to not only lift you up and build your confidence right ability or confidence. Uh, especially when you just feel like you stink, which will probably happen once a day for the time being, at least, eso. Obviously, when you feel like you stink, you could go to your wind book and say like No, but I don't stink. Look at all these wonderful things that people are saying about me, right? It's that ego and confidence boast. But it's also a really great way for you to figure out what's working in your business. Because by putting all those compliments in one place, you're gonna notice the themes and the common threads that you're getting. And all of a sudden you're going to realize that out of the last 10 emails you got six of them, or about you know, how soft the sweaters that you make are right. And you might not have noticed that by just having them come in one by one. But by seeing them in your wind book, you're gonna say, Oh, people think my sweaters air really soft, and maybe they're surprised by that. I should put that in my copy, or I shouldn't make that part of my branding, or I should make sure that I talk about that right. So it's gonna bring out those themes and help you with your branding or your you Nicoletti, which I like to call it on your elevator picture in all the other kind of business building things. This is also a really great place to not only keep the external praise, but to give yourself internal praise. So just like this to dina list that we talked about you could keep it in your wind book. So every night or at the end of every week, like I do, you could just think back. You know? What did I What did I dio? What am I proud of myself for? Do not negate the small things Please, for the love of all that's holy. If you think like you don't do anything major this week. I don't care. You know you sent that email you bought that you are l you you know, started working on your first product in your Etsy shop. You got your first client. I mean, you know anything counts, right? Anything counts and you could start your wind. Look by saying that you finish this course array. That's the greatest start to the wind book ever. I'm I'm planning to diction and a job finished the course. Now this is like a Pomodoro, but it's a different type of a timer Trek that I think really is helpful for me and a lot of my clients. I read somewhere that actually, scientifically, it's been proven that 45 minutes is the ideal amount of time to kind of trick yourself into staying. Uh oh. I could do anything for 45 minutes and get started and also the ideal amount of time to actually make headway on what you're doing and make progress. So with the timer trek, you set the timer for 45 minutes and you don't look at it again. That's like that's a key component of the time. I don't look at the timer. It's now it's totally defeats the purpose. If you said it and then you're looking at the clock every two seconds, you trust that it's set. It's gonna go off in 45 minutes and you do your work. You do whatever is on that snap that you're supposed to be doing to hit your deadline and or what feels fun and easiest you in that moment. And when the timer goes off, you get to decide I'm either gonna make the timer. I'm gonna wind the timer up again, winds it up like old school. No one winds, anything anymore. I'm either gonna set the timer again on my phone and, um and have it go off or I'm gonna give myself permission to walk away guilt free Because I did my work today, right? And I feel like one of the biggest roadblocks. And I'm surprised, actually, I should have brought this up. But here, just getting started. Like what stops him for my gold Just getting started. I feel like is the hardest part, right? And I compare this all the time to working out where I feel like the hardest part of exercising is putting on your exercise clothes, tying your sinkers and walking out of your house. Like, once you do that, then you're like, Well, I'm not gonna not exercise now. I went through all of this stupid thing And then once you get started with the exercising, at least for May, Sometimes the whole thing is torture times it is sometimes like that was horrible and I didn't have any fun at all. But often times after the first few minutes you get in the groove and you're enjoying yourself and you say to yourself, Why did I build this up selection? My head. You know, I should have just done it. Your work, your snap work, your business work is probably gonna feel the same way. So just give yourself a chance to get your butt in seat and get started. And if it doesn't flow and it doesn't work, then you're you're allowed after those 45 minutes to walk away and know that you did your work. So they want you to show us your snap, which sounds dirty, not jealous. Here's Naft. So the best place Yes, for people to go sign up for good, my impotent and put their Or if they are comfortable using the hash tag day job did on Twitter, feel free to do that. And instagram to an instagram to instagram to That would be really amazing to see all of this. So, uh, with that, it's time to wrap a hope, which is crazy. This has been a class for me. That was essentially eight years in the making. I didn't realize back in, you know, 2007 that I was preparing for this class, but I waas and I just I hope it's allowed everyone. Teoh prepared a dictionary day job to be more comfortable and confident than you could have done yourself so and go toe When I grow up, go to dot com slash day job Dix for more freebies for my free private Facebook group, for my free resource is on and to connect with other people that have worked with me in one way or the other and are going through this journey. So I'm thrilled. I'm so I'm so, uh, one of my favorite made upwards, its proud cited and I'm proud cited of and for all of you. That's how I feel. Proud cited so thank you so much.

Fantastic course! I highly recommend it. Michelle is a wonderful teacher: energetic, passionate, funny, and encouraging. Kenna is also a great facilitator; the most natural and genuine host I've seen so far on Creative Live! Great job both of you. And a well-deserved shout-out to the in-class participants, who were engaged and candid about their own situations. Best of luck to both of you with ditching your day jobs. This class has given me the structure and several practical tools to facilitate my own transition to creative entrepreneurship and out of a soul-sucking job. Michelle shared many supportive messages that made me look more confidently at my "uniquity" and its value in the creative marketplace; as a result, I am now eager to take the action towards building my art business. I will use my S.N.A.P. to comfortably and confidently get to where I want to be, so that I don't snap at my day job in the process ;-)

This course is truly AMAZING! I've been in hyper - forward motion since the first day! Thank you Michelle! This course was honestly different then any other! It gave actionable items, where to find support, and tons of yummy resources (which if very time consuming and somewhat impossible when you have a DAY JOB!) My Day Job is actually "ditching" me but by having a plan (which Michelle gives step by step details how to do), I'm totally comfortable and even EXCITED to be DITCHED! Several items that she shared I've already been able to implement into my creative business plan AND my personal life! Double whammy! I ended up buying the course to make sure I didn't miss anything! Super excited to continue and wish everyone luck on their own creative journey! ~Enjoy!

I was one of the fortunate studio members of this class. Wow! So much great information, step by step instructions, enthusiastic encouragement and fun! Michelle takes you through the baby steps needed to form a solid foundation to get ready to ditch your day job and do it with a plan, a safety net and a support network. A common sense guide to doing something uncommon and (to some) seemingly nonsensical. The videos will teach, inspire and encourage, the workbook will make it real for your own situation and the resources that are provided will be invaluable as you prepare to ditch your day job. You will be so glad you purchased this class!
