Who Makes Up Your Support Squad?
who and what makes up your support squad, right? So we still want to hear As I go through these questions, we want to hear your answers in the chat. But a zoo probably could tell by now I'm all about you getting your own personal things. Help, right? This is not a one size fits all process. So by answering this question these questions you will be able. Teoh. Figure out who and what makes up your support squad. So let's start with something easy. Who are the people that already understand and our support your creative dreams? There's room for that on page 55 of your workbook Or just jot it down. I'm sure someone's coming to mind. Hopefully more than one person, family, friends, colleagues. It might even be people that you don't know very well. Maybe someone made an impression on you that you met very briefly. But you remember that, like there, a full time photographer and you know they might not be supportive of you yet because they don't know you, but they would understand what you're...
going through. So don't be afraid to include people that you don't know well, but you've met before and and would know that they would get your journey. Let's Who are you writing down? Um, have I have three friends in particular that have been really supportive of me and a couple of them are trying their own ventures and also I through meet up. I joined a Seattle handmade group on, and we've been meeting months. I've been going to monthly meetings with, um, and it's been it's just been eye opening and really wonderful. Everybody's at different stages of having a creative business, and I've learned a lot that I love, that that's fantastic. And I'm like smelling a mastermind ish group with your three friends to, if you're all on a similar journey, is really fun to get together. I did this. I forced my creative, entrepreneurial female friends who live in Brooklyn together for brunch and now, for the past two or three years, we meet monthly. We take turns at each other's homes, preparing brunch and and we just talk about our businesses and ask each other questions and fill each other in, and it's I look forward to it every month, three years, so it's really great to have that support. What about you Have, uh, let's say my family for sure. Um, I have looked into some entrepreneur groups on meet up in my area, but none of them have messed with my schedule. A lot of them happen during week days, which doesn't work if you have a regular day, you know, Monday through Friday job. So that's, you know, just it's true made up group that means nights, weekends. That's true. You could do that. I could do that. But that's great. I mean, in the fact that you've already been searching for. That means that you see the value and not for you. But that's great. Knowing already your families on your list of support. Fantastic. All right, when a move on quick and then we're gonna get to the chat. Once all these questions are answered, What type of support structure has worked for you in the past? Think about other goals that you've reached, Um, whether it was I just ran my first half marathon guys in April. I don't know how that happened. I'm never thought of myself as a runner ever, but like, you know, things that aren't even necessarily related to your business. Other goals that you've reached. What helped you get there? Was it a group of people that you met with? Was it on online training program? Like what type of support structure has worked for you in the past? I see. Listen, Heather is giving me blank looks. Do you feel like you? Maybe in a different way, too. Answer this like, how do you feel? You learn best or how do you feel? You give yourself the structure to follow through the most. I think for me having other people to bounce ideas off that communication is important. And I kind of smiled to myself because I think I'm trying to start a business by myself. So yeah, that I kind of lives that lose that people connection. So by having those accountabilities and finding those those groups on meet up are really good resource to kind of help keep that going. Grey. Still doing my own thing. That's what about you, Heather. What's worked for you in the past? Well, my fan, my family, my parents, my siblings have always been really supportive, um, and helped when they could and ah, I am realizing that I haven't really tapped into the potential support network that I have. Um, you know, I'm thinking of people that have been in my life for a while kind of peripheral, you know, like that I probably could engage more on that would be good. Resource is and good accountability and good encouragements. But I haven't done that yet because I haven't been confidence. But also that lay as we talked about yesterday at being kind of ah, in a negative cycle I tend to isolate rather than reaching out for help. So, um, because of a lot of stuff over the last few years, I've isolated more than reaching out. So I think it's time for me to start reaching out. I think that's a valid support structure, right? Like reaching out. Asking for help is a support structure. And we did. We did talk, Thomas yesterday where Maybe maybe we were being proactive for you. Like before. You get to the negative place. You're talking to your family and saying if you notice that I'm doing these things, can you Can you draw something out of it? Can you have a conversation? Could you initiate a call or a conversation or something, because that's gonna help me be feel supported and get out of my isolation. Like that's a great things talk about with your family. The last thing we want to drop down is what types of people do you want to meet? You could keep the answer this question as broad or as specific as you want, so you could say I want to be creative entrepreneurs. Or you could say, I want to meet other female pet photographers like that broad that specific, Um, and this will really come in handy with the support systems I mention previously, because you could connect that to the classes you want to take or the meet up groups that you want Teoh investigate and look into, uh, so what comes to mind? Lives. They see writing definitely creative types, creative business owners, people who do make prints and people related to travel on with, with, um, travel and different different audiences. Potential audiences for my my keepsake maps that I'm thinking of doing 11. And you already have a jump start on that with the ham craft. Seattle handcraft, right? Meet up group, right? What about you, Heather? Uh, because I am multi passion. It's and I would like to meet with others who are also mulled a passionate, um, I think that would be valuable in learning some things. How other entrepreneurs use that as an advantage, but also how they can harness some of that. But distractibility, which it could be, um, and still be successful. Even when you have all of that going on. I smell your made up group, right that you want to create it like the multi passionate Entrepreneurs Meet up group that that could be totally what you're going home t do tonight and see who shows up with that. So So with that, you guys have all the answers because you just answered all these questions. It should be an easy one. Who and what makes up your support squad. So we know for Heather, it's your family. It's these potential meet up groups. It's asking for help. For Liz, it's the handcraft meet up group. It's the three friends that you have on board. It's thes community sites, um, and bringing your husband and more to the conversation

Fantastic course! I highly recommend it. Michelle is a wonderful teacher: energetic, passionate, funny, and encouraging. Kenna is also a great facilitator; the most natural and genuine host I've seen so far on Creative Live! Great job both of you. And a well-deserved shout-out to the in-class participants, who were engaged and candid about their own situations. Best of luck to both of you with ditching your day jobs. This class has given me the structure and several practical tools to facilitate my own transition to creative entrepreneurship and out of a soul-sucking job. Michelle shared many supportive messages that made me look more confidently at my "uniquity" and its value in the creative marketplace; as a result, I am now eager to take the action towards building my art business. I will use my S.N.A.P. to comfortably and confidently get to where I want to be, so that I don't snap at my day job in the process ;-)

This course is truly AMAZING! I've been in hyper - forward motion since the first day! Thank you Michelle! This course was honestly different then any other! It gave actionable items, where to find support, and tons of yummy resources (which if very time consuming and somewhat impossible when you have a DAY JOB!) My Day Job is actually "ditching" me but by having a plan (which Michelle gives step by step details how to do), I'm totally comfortable and even EXCITED to be DITCHED! Several items that she shared I've already been able to implement into my creative business plan AND my personal life! Double whammy! I ended up buying the course to make sure I didn't miss anything! Super excited to continue and wish everyone luck on their own creative journey! ~Enjoy!

I was one of the fortunate studio members of this class. Wow! So much great information, step by step instructions, enthusiastic encouragement and fun! Michelle takes you through the baby steps needed to form a solid foundation to get ready to ditch your day job and do it with a plan, a safety net and a support network. A common sense guide to doing something uncommon and (to some) seemingly nonsensical. The videos will teach, inspire and encourage, the workbook will make it real for your own situation and the resources that are provided will be invaluable as you prepare to ditch your day job. You will be so glad you purchased this class!
