You don't have to be worried about feeling arrogant. Here are you really need to be aware of what we're doing, and it's hard work. It's It's not something that you simply we teacher take for granted. It involves a lot of hard work and effort, sweat and tears less to his more sweat. So before we close this segment, I'd like toe spend a few minutes talking about language achievements. What I call reward, rewarding myself are rewarding ourselves on acknowledging our achievements and knowing how to reward ourselves. So as I said, language learning is a lot of things beginning with R, One of them is rewarding and he also demands a lot of us we need to give. We're giving a lot to get a lot, so it's a two way city. I mean, it works both ways. We get a lot out of it, but we also have to give a lot. But we need to recognize this and we need to act on it and we need to be aware of our achievements and of everything we've managed to do so far on our journey, and we need to reward ourselves by doi...
ng something fun. I mean, you form of the language every now and then. Now, don't forget we're already doing this by may be watching a TV show. So this is already this is a small reward. This is I wouldn't say this is every what this is like a nice thing that we can do. And language is a nice anyway, so we don't have to see this is very watt. But rewarding ourselves with something fun will help boost our motivation and perceived relevant. And it also gives a slightly new added to it makes us think that we're doing something worthwhile on its It's appreciated not only by ourselves, but by the people as well that we interact with. So this might also be part of our timetable. Ie watching a programme of going to the cinema. But it can be something much more significant, like a special evening out. A tap pass by or flamenco evening. I mean, this is very Spanish Spanish, but I mean, we've got so much stuff on our doorstep Syrian San Francisco, where you can really go out and have a night on the town in Spanish. I know why not. Maybe even doing a weekend break. A little break weekend for 23 days, a long weekend to Mexico. If we're in other places, we can do exactly the same now these air part, maybe form part of our goals, our long term goals. And it's something that we might have to send up. Save up, fly. It's a bit it costs a bit, but at the same time we don't have to make it that extreme. It can be simply something focusing on do something special, something rewarding where at the same time, we can also use the language and make it meaningful to the process on where you're going to get in part from others that appreciate what you're doing. So the main point of this type is really to realize that by doing this, you're gonna feel encouraged, and you're gonna want to continue with your work because it's paying off. So I'd like you now to think, as you draw to the last exercise of this segment, to think about how I can go about rewarding myself for the activities on the learning that I've done so far, and how would you go about doing it? So I just like to take a few minutes. Just feel free toe. Jot down your ideas on, then let me know what you think on. Uh, I appreciate the feedback they're doing that. I have a quick question, Matthew. So there's been a question, and we talked about this earlier. About if it's good to learn two languages the same time, and as I recall, you said you were all for that. But in doing this daily calendar, would you split up the time between the two languages? Yes. That what you would do? Okay, Definitely. I think it's got toe. Sometimes you might focus more on one language than the other. You might have a major language of my enemy in your language. So you then, in this case, you could really afford to spend maybe a bit more time on the major one and then less on the minor one. But just keep the minor one going in the back. Even if it's a lesson today, you could, for example, just do one simple lesson today in that language. And then you've got so I don't know. You say you're doing in German and then you're doing much more like you were saying? Phyllis, you've got about an hour a day. So if you were to learn Dodge, then you could do Maybe, I don't know, 10 to 15 minutes. In some cases, that's a lesson on ethnic running up. So you've done a lesson. If you keep on doing it the day after, then you're keeping the language. You're retaining the information because you're putting it into practice. You're not forgetting it. And then coming back to any weeks time and then oh, shoot. I don't remember what was actually what I've learned because I've missed six days of Lenny. So as long as you're keeping it consistent, then there's no reason why we can't. It will take. We're gonna process are, um, advance more in the other language. But that's because we're spending more time on it. But we can still by all means continue with the minor language and really good great rewards. Great. So what are some of the rewards that people have come up with travel? Yeah, I think it's probably the reason a really American accent. Numero uno is definitely the thing, I think, and it's also is something that you could really really really, really look forward to. And it's also something that will really spurring you on and to think I have to buy. Then I want to be able to say so much. I want to be ableto know so much of the language on be able to communicate with people. So you want to be getting them. The most of it is you can't. So travel, I think, is essential. Any other ideas? Restaurant? Yeah, definitely. Yeah. So I popped Foodies were big. Food is way When I get after you, Do you want to get our drink? We really wanna Yeah. And they're so I mean, we're spoiled for choice nowadays, especially in big cities in smaller cities. OK, it's maybe not so easy. But then again, you've usually got at least 123 different kinds of restaurants. Andi Yeah, so we can We can always If not, then we can always The trouble thing is really important. It's really something to look forward to. As I said so, any of the suggestions? Yes, under concerts. Very good. Very, very good. Because for explosions of language, Andi was saying as well. I'm not sure if I said this actually, but leave the English language music. You're always gonna You're going to hear it. Someone's gonna be blasting out of your out of the car next to you. You're always gonna go into a department store and you're gonna hear it. Focus on the Turkish music focus on the Japanese music. They have just a school music as we do, and they can have just as bad music as well here as well. It's really works both ways, but you can really tap into that culture by appreciating the music, appreciating the sounds of it on how those sounds are putting to music. So that's a really great idea that you could discover a really great music, really great bands, really great singers in so many different styles on and really learn so much about the language. So I mean, in the case of you can have exactly the same music, but in a different language. Or you can like a completely different So, for example, in the case of Portuguese that you have so you have Brazilian music in yourself, Portuguese music and in Portuguese music and import. It was really famous for Father, which is very, very very sad, but it's very emotional, very moving on, uh, you learn completely. You have a completely different outside of the language because you learn so much about about a languages, the linguistic culture of the of the language, through the music, so I can highly recommend that.
