Innovative Accessories
So let's get into some innovative accessories and what I like using, which I find is cool. Here we go, right. So this shot here which we demonstrated: laundry basket. Hey, right? I like that pop-up light that I used, but as you know, I'm a big constant light guy. And so basically, let's bring that out. I like it because of the size. But I go, well, I like constant light; let me find a big ol' flashlight, like, you know, 30,000 lumens or whatever, so I can get some decent light out of it. And so I love using it in this way here, okay, so you can just attach it here and you can get some nice light out of it, right? And it's soft and it's really great, and you can just get on it really fast, okay? And so but it needs a really bright light to put inside of it to make that work, right. And then I use gels, right, which is really cool. And so that's kind of a new thing that I'm using. That thing folds down into like a disc that big. And so, if, you know, to do an umbrella, what you got to do...
, you gotta set the umbrella stand up and this and you gotta put it through there; there's a lot of things. That you can get some really quick soft light, it's big enough to make a difference, and you can do it like that, in a second. So you can just have your flash right here; you don't even need an umbrella mount, you just put that on, you're good to go. Bam, okay. So that's pretty bright, right? I have that killer torchlight, 38,000 lumens, right? And this is great too; I found other uses for it. Let's say your subject is literally a hundred feet away, and there's like a river in between and you can't get it to it, that will light them up at a hundred feet away. So there's a particular situation where they're 30, 40 feet away, your couple is, I just fire that light at them, and that's easier to do than putting a flash and putting a grid on it, because you can see it. So constant light, especially at night time is the way to go. Constant light, okay? Now this other cool thing that I like using is this super mount, and let me show you this. Okay, and can you bring that softbox in there too? Alright, now what I love about this mount is is that one, it's big enough to put the torchlight in there to fire it this way. But what I like about it is, you can put four flashes on here if you want to or video light. So you can put a video light, flash, two flashes, four or even five flashes, you can put it in here. So you can do a flash, you can do a torchlight through here, you can put your 8200 in here if you want to. But what really makes this amazing, it's a Bowens mount too. And a lot of people, I particularly don't because it's too long to set up, even the rapid box they have is pretty cool, but that takes too long for me too. I don't, but a lot of people use this type of mount, okay? And so this will allow you, if you put this on here, now, and it has a handle on it, you could put your torchlight through here and use constant light with your Bowens at the same time, okay? And that's what really makes this great; this thing is a little bit loose, so, anyways. But this is how it works, and so a lot of people use Bowens mount and especially when they come on their workshop they use that, but then it's hard for them to switch when the sun goes below the horizon, you don't really want to use flash anymore. Now to change that out to use video light is difficult, but if you can have some constant light to put in there, and it's strong enough to light that up, now you can use constant light with your Bowens mount. It also has an umbrella mount, too. So if you put four flashes on here, you can put an umbrella through it and still use that, too. So, this, I don't know, it's like you can do anything with this. And this is really, what I love about this, it's really easy to control this. So even if you put the torchlight through here, you can change this angle. And, sometimes when you have these mounts, especially I think the Godox one, it's really hard and rigid to change, and it's difficult, but this one makes it really, really easy to change that, and I really like that. This will also attach onto a typical flash stand here. So it has this, it has a hole on the bottom where I can just throw this on top of a light stand, and then it has a screw area here where you can lock that in, okay? And the handle is pretty cool with it, too. And it makes it easy for a person to hold it up for you if you do that with an assistant. So, lately, I've been using all this. If you want to find out more about this, just go to scottrobertsstudio.com, and you can take a look at it. But, this is, I, this is really innovative. I love it because this fits what I do, whether I flash, whether I'm 8200, whether I'm video light, and then I can still get diffused light. So this is the only mount that I need to throw in my bag, because it will hold everything.

This course is amazing! Scott is extremely straightforward. He goes directly to practical problems, tips and etc. He explains every thing very clearly, and he is also very funny and charismatic, making you laugh as you learn. He shows that you don't need a lot of expensive gear to make very nice pictures. So I have saved some money as well, cause I was about to buy some gear that I wouldn't need right now. It is for sure one of the best photography courses I have ever attended to! I highly recommend! Thanks a lot Scott! You are the best!

I have purchased a number of classes, this being one of them. The quality of the information was good and the level at which Scott spoke was appropriate for me. Having a course sylibus would add greatly to the value, which usually is not part of the programs I've purchased including this one, unless I've missed it. I believe the speaker should be required to provide one. After watching the videos, much of material can be recaptured by seeing it in writing. I would like to hear back from Creativelive their thoughts. In sum, good topic, good speaker, good technical audio and video quality by Creativelive
