Kodak Porta 800 Rich Tones
Mm. Deliciously rich Kodak portray 100. That's what we're doing in this 12th mixology video where we're gonna create this preset the Kodak poor tra rich color preset to go from this lovely little raw file to this beautiful Brighton Harry. Fantastic film. Look, in just a matter of seconds, we're gonna create the preset in under 10 seconds, and then we're gonna go ahead and apply this to a couple of images and talk about when I like to use these types of presets. Let's dive right in. I'm gonna go ahead and select this first image here. We're gonna jump in the develop module. Let's remember, here are exposure of plus two and our temperature of 46 50. So I'm gonna go ahead and just reset this out. We're gonna put two and then 46 50 Wanted to see what this looks like without any type of adjustments applied to it so that we guys get a good idea. So let's save this as the before by right clicking in our history and saving that out. Now, when we select poor tra 800 plus rich color, we get this...
gorgeous looking I love love love, love this. Look, it looks amazing where we have beautiful skin tone has very rich toned skin. And then we have kind of nice pastel e greens and kind of nice bright blues and so forth. It looks really nice overall, if it's for lack of better word, So here's the before and the after. So with the standard, um, temperature and exposure adjustment and with all the ages cell and everything that's put into this preset. So let's go ahead and create this mix audio. Miss, make salt is actually very, very simple. All it iss All it is, folks is Let's go into our foundation. What I'm gonna do is just go back to ah, let's go back to that exposure desperate. So I'm gonna go back before we apply the preset in the history. We could go back to that temperature adjustment so that we have the exposure and the temperature dialed in No, from our foundation. All we're gonna do folks is select Kodak portray 800 rich tones this time. Okay? And editors, you can put 10 seconds on the clock. Please posit when I'm talking to you. Editors posit right now. Thank you. And then what we're gonna do is under stylization or sorry, under bass tones, we're gonna pull down the highlight recovery quite a bit. Okay, We're gonna pull the highlights down. And that's really it. Except for I might just tweak my definition a little bit to soften and maybe to just keep a standard amount of contrast in there. And really, with definition, you can choose whatever you like. OK, so that was four clicks to get to the final look. But you can customize any of these things to get to where there is that you fits your style. But here is the before and the after for that preset. Okay, so once again, this whole thing has already saved out under Kodak Portrait 100 plus rich color. There's one difference in my version that I saved out in the mixology, which is that I zeroed out clarity just because on this image, while and negative clarity works really nicely on ah, lot of images, it doesn't. So I've kind of designed this one toe work over the majority again. All these are designed to work over the majority of images as opposed is one type of image But the type of images I like to apply this to is the same thing that we've already talked about, images that have a vintage quality. They have highlights. They have good shadows. They have natural lighting, their bright there. They fit this kind of a look, their natural images. They're not images that we shot intended to be a very high dynamic range image. Or we haven't added Flash to make it very stylistic and so forth. So that's just to give you an idea of when I like to apply this. So let's go ahead and jump into this one last time, licious plans through and see what's being done overall to get this look. The highlight recover that we did is pulling out highlights and white significantly while keeping the shadows and blacks pretty well intact, so that when we have basically still the contrast that we need in our shadows and blacks while we've pulled down the highlights preserve highlight detail, we've had a time. It a contrast, left clarity and everything that presents kind of set to just default. We have our standard contrast boosting tone curve is being added, and again, here's the magic of Rhs l the advanced our Sorry. The advanced customization system framework thingy Adjustment. Comfort. It sounds so ridiculous. The color toning option that selected here is Kodak portray 100 rich. Okay, So again, to get back to the muted look, we simply select the Portrait 100 muted. But I like the rich tone here. It looks fantastic. So I'm just like that. This is what's being done. Overall nature cell again. We've already covered this. So if you want deposit and look in detail, you can. And if you have the present system and you want to compare what the rich foods you 408 104 100 h looks like compared to the Kodak 400 age, you can compare and see those differences. And there is a significant difference there. Okay, again, camera calibration is being dialed and again for that portrait. 800 Porta. Think I said that with, like, a slightly southern accent? Porta 100 are maybe Texan. I don't know. Some of you there from Texas. Would that be a good Texas accent? Sharpening is down down to zero. Noise reduction is raised little bit and grains raise again to create that fine, soft kind of look to the overall detail in the image would get this beautiful final look, Let's go ahead and imply this to the other images. I'm gonna reset these out just to make sure that they are indeed reset because they weren't just a second ago. And let's go ahead and save that snapshot or save the history setting to the before so we can see the before and after From here, we're just gonna, like, portray 100 rich color. All we got to do now is just dialling are white balance. And again, I'm gonna go in the more cool side, bring up the exposure a little bit and fantastical. We end up with this really cool, kind of vintage toned image of my beautiful couple right here. I love this. Oh, my gosh. He is, by the way, a photographer as well. I don't wanna mention their names. Just they don't want anybody cyber stalking people, But they are an amazing couple. Very spot on when it comes to fashion. They pulled things off so well, it was awesome. All right, so that's the before and after their let's go onto this image are lovely. a couple playing on the beach I'm gonna press are just to correct our horizon line right there and again. A great situation for rich toned portrait again Any any film tone here would work it. Just pick the one that fits your style. I'm gonna brighten up the image quite a bit Pulled down the temperature just a little bit And right there I love it. I love it. We have this beautiful kind of crystallized brok highlights in the water in the background and so forth. We keep a very bright high key look to the image. But when I pressed Jay toe, look at our highlight clipping alert. Notice how we've barely clipped or barely blown any of our highlights again. This is why I love these types of filming looks because we can go high key while retaining our detail. Okay, So again, here's the before and the after actually the before and that one was set to ah, different image. So let's go ahead and we'll just create a virtual copy here by President Control. Apostrophe will reset out this original one, and now we can compare the before and the after. Okay, I made that little rotation adjustment of the crop adjustment. Cool. So really nice. Very cool looks with the portrait. 800 rich tone. Love it. Hope you'll get to see you next video.

The importing by copying and pasting the presets into the directory doesn't work for me in Lightroom Classic.
