Denim Pants

So I used denim and a lot of projects that idea I used it and pillows used in the quilt and it's really great, inexpensive and durable fabric when you shop at the thrift store for jeans so I shot in both the men's and the women's denham sections you can get a variety of finishes I'm going to talk a little bit about some of the things that are unique tio women's denim that I tend to like and we'll you know I'll tell you when it applies to the men's section as well, but I pulled some examples to show you of what I look for I love distressed finishes and I love interesting areas of where on jane's so like this particular pair you've got these whiskers might not look so great on a body that looks awesome when you use it in an up cycle project and this doesn't have any real interesting where on the back but I might use these pockets so that's a good candidate I pull these because I absolutely love the distress knees I think this is a really great when to cut out and to use into any kind of ...

quilt or pillow or anything like that this was really fun here's another interesting pair this is feels like coded jenna that could be really interesting to work with what you find sometimes in the women's section is that you have denim a fabric that has stretch in it that's ok, use that just like you would one hundred percent cotton did him. It works just as well. And also when I'm looking at denham, I also love having different finishes all together. So I'm never looking for one particular finish. If there's, um, a discount day or something like that, like a particular tag color, I might look specifically for those particular tags and then look within those for specific finishes. But it really I look at all of them and then the other thing is mixture lights and your darks in the same project. What I find is in denham and I think this is a really good example. The outside of the denim is one color, but he flip this over to the back. You've got a totally different color that you can use in the same projects, it's almost like you're getting two for price of one and we had our eyes on the great pair of green pants color denim in the women's section, you can get some amazing colors and what may have been a really fun color to wear last year, and they look much better in a quilt this year.

I loved that the class gave me actionable ideas that I can use when I visit thrift stores. I shop for yarn and fabric for thrift stores, but had not thought of using clothes outside of their intended purposes.
