Pretty much look, the only time I direct and I'll go through that in the course because there's a section about working with your couple, I would just directed towards better lighting. You're not going to get what you want, it's about capturing moments and moments of spontaneous. So what I do is I make sure that we work with you worked with the photographer because they're your friend, you know, they're not the enemy and, you know, generally like it's being like the photographer's doing their thing, and we're doing our thing now you worked with them and you just direct them tio good lighting, and...

then from there I'll go through that later on in terms of the language we used to get those moments, but that's the question. You know, generally, no, we don't only only fool like to get them to put them in the right right spot or good lighting, and then we just go back and just let it happen, but generally we just I just like to capture things as they happen because you've got that the planning process in place beforehand, then I no, like I'm anticipating some things, having said that, it's a live event and things happen when they don't tell you a cz muchas you asked them and they tell me more tell me is anything that we need to know? Sometimes I forget and you're just going to be trying capture it when it happens. So it sounds like you really set the stage with the planning process. You listen throughout the interview and then on game day or wedding day, you really just keep listening, stand back and then go with the flow is alive. Yeah, yeah, for sure, and I'll go through that. I'll go through my phone process the moment I walk into a bride's pretty great. Yeah, so wait for that. All right? Well, we had quite a few people asking about, like audio questions, more comments as well, a mad panda from chicago said this is with regard to the video that you sort of at the beginning the audio was outstanding, especially during the vows plus it was windy and it still came out top notch so they asked what audio tools you use which we did go over and then do sha from new jersey said do use level your mikes or did you record the sound from the audio mixer and I just I guess the question is like, how important is it to have good audio is critical like I'll go through this later bad audio is unfavourable it's like when you look at a film, you can think it I mean I don't encourage is but if there's shots like kind of out of focus for a split second, it kind of sometimes it's like I was that part of what I was supposed to be and you just forget about it but bad audio people notice it's a massive destruction, so you really need to invest in when I say best not like if any spin thousand dollars but it's investing the time to make sure you got back up and you have certain things which I do have, um things called win germans they're not this big before the for the lapels they're on this really small and they go there like little fluffy things so that that film with john and julius film that was like pretty much by just down the hill is the beach so there was there was a breeze coming through so I had a little little fluffy when jemma windscreen yeah, on dh something's like off its uglies like what you do you just you've become like a instant headrest and I seem like a drug deal like if I had people around take a look at me I'm like, you know, your head response trimmed, but yeah, you just have that. And what you can do is if they have a base jacket some some have, like, a lot color jacket. You can get those little fluffy things that that's kind of like beige or what andi got them is as a backup just in case otherwise you got this like it's not ideal. So yeah, that's what I do so if you if you captured a moment that was incredible, like, emotionally and you got bad audio, would you include that in the would you put that in the movie in the video or would you keep outta had better? You know, something? Something happened nor make me look bad for maybe the windscreen fella for yes, that happened. It hasn't happened. I what can I say? I not to say like we were perfect, but I guess having you know who had dropouts with the lapels, but because we have these guys, then it's really rare if that happens just to answer the question if it does happen don't use it you know you're capturing a story you know capturing just the a specific kind of thing like that you're recording in the audio so if it does happen and for us it's really it should be a rare occasion but from that rare occasion it's better not to use it and to just use something else to tell the story because if you use it it's going to be it's going to destruction and is going to ruin your film and it's not gonna help you great well, why don't we take a couple more questions and then you think we have some questions here? Quick question you keep referring to the the wired wired but can you tell me what brand that is like this one? Him? Yeah, this one is the c twenty for yemen, huh? Okay, I personally like this because it's I mean look at it because small it is it's tiny you know we can put that we can leave that on like like a group in way that will hey, so is it recording into that particular device or does it connect to the zoom? No, this is lapel right into and you get a good lapels like these guys here like in australia they like ninety dollars hundred maybe hundred fifty but it's awesome mike's you know you want to get a really good mike you want to get a really good transmitter system and you you want to get like good so you know like obviously I've tried different things but these things are really cool you just need to make sure you check your levels they could do tests before the day obviously otherwise you know you you're just going in blind but these guys they're really small another one a good one is the h one you probably know about the h one it's a little bit bigger it's not kind of ideal if you want to just leave it in the puppet for the vows but this guy here like you khun somehow just leave it all day you know, just doing it for the shoot and you kept your cool you and they're like, oh, I can't play this I love you and what's money sometimes I'll say something you know there's a couple I want show it was probably embarrassed talking talking dirty you know and we're not going to use it but but she goes don't don't say that because it feels recording so but because you know they cool because we establish that connection and obviously wouldn't use it but it's funny these guys are super super small and great I think that you know I just want a piggyback you've gotta zoom h four I do this's something we have the h six where we use this and the h six so I'll go through like the whole g that we use because we have to they took a backup in terms of the wireless system we have sometimes three of them many one of these and then the h six I'll show the h six it's a it's an upgrade you can show you how I like I have an old school bought it off the internet for one hundred bucks you can use those mikes stereo mikes and two wireless on the bottom so it's for travel another company has like an eight track it's just a tiny mixer you literally plug ate wireless mikes in there and it's audio is so good man you can catch so much digital nowadays I'm gonna let it sorry yeah that's right yeah that's awesome because then you can you can you can use that for when there's a band playing you can get a line out which I'll get into later but you could get like a direct feed into the bands and also get these things here cool I'm kind of jumping a bit but this is all just quickly I'm going to go now because we'll go through it when we're doing the gear thie advanced but this is the age six one two three four channels plus this one you can attach another too so you can have six but usually what I do is I put like an omni directional stereo attachment it comes with attachments and I'll just put that during the venue if there's a band I put that there sometimes I don't actually need a direct feed sometimes actually sounds better to get an acoustic version get the room with the sound of that's right? Because we get a direct feed wrong mix well it's kind of like it doesn't have that dimension that kind of real dimensions like a track you don't want that you're shooting an event you want to kind of captured as it like in a organic way we're going to think you know what I mean you know what I mean? So any other questions wait a question one thing I noticed in the video was the music adds so much to it how do you work with the song selection? Specifically we have a question from be quirky bu from blackpool uk how do you choose the music for each video are the songs the couples like or your preference? We have full creative discretion and you know it's like choosing a soundtrack but we'll go through that in the editing but two stands the question we definitely know we get lessons music it's so important and not just because you want to cover yourself legally I mean that's that's huge I don't wanna have a lawsuit on you but by doing that, you're very tailored in choosing the song and I'll go through the whole full process when it comes to the editing and choosing music which is part of the third day in the post production overview so yeah way choose the music and one final question from houston you just said you choose the music have you ever let I haven't personally never let it cut you know I can't most customers understand I can't put taylor swift with them walking down the aisle most of the time so you you choose the music all the time because when you capturing the film it's you kept you busy captain a story it's not just specifically like you know the walking down the aisle it's many elements many, many stories which will get into, you know, catching sequences and many stories and you're looking for a fill that reflect them and and songs that drive drive the story but you could technically let them listen to whatever song we like as they walked down the aisle because you would just be laying music on top of that yeah that's specifically with doc oh edit like the looking there's no right or wrong like now we're getting into the kind of section where it's like a what do you offer them? But you know as an example if you're offering offering them let's say the ceremony in full in the speech is in full or toast that's. What we generally do way. Find that couples. They want that, and we're happy to do that. You put it together and take one it's a complicated process. I'm obviously the creating off the creating the actual film us very film, whether it's, a ten minute feature that was a highlights, but you can also do a ten minute feature as well. We'll get into that later, into the packaging and things like that.

This "class" is AMAZING. So much information packed into the hours! Alfio is a relaxed and fun "instructor" that you can tell has a lot of passion for what he does. Worth watching for sure!
