9:00 am - Introduction
I've been waiting for a while to release all this information, so if you guys have any questions, let it roll pop them out we have a lot to talk about this class is about working with models was really much more than just that so regardless of your discipline, if you like shooting landscapes or kids or weddings, whatever discipline is there's something here for you yes, our team is working with models, but as you'll see, we go much deeper so there's some surprises as well we have a lot of things in store and one of those things is thank you very much. One of those is talking about at the end what you do if you're working so much? Yes, you know working all your life too build your career or maybe you get started and you're finally making your dream come true you're working all the time shooting your your wedding is your portrait ce your fashion? How do you recharge your batteries? How do you recharge your batteries and stay fresh and keep the angie going and create new work to get more ...
work? We'll talk about that as well and I'll let you in on a secret I've been doing for the last well this entire year actually for the most part so that's coming later on and also I have another announcement for the last four and a half years I've been using the same camera and those who know her hair be speak no I shoot a sony a nine hundred I'm changing that no more she was the sun ae eighty nine hundred from now on I'm sure with the sony a ninety nine released today it's a kick butt camera so more on that later on ma you know folks really right here brand new just released today matthew for those going to be shooting with that camera for the very first time tomorrow tomorrow well you know the first time one a a session current correct correct crap because I know our people are gonna want more details oh dear well details matthew yeah so stay tuned for that tomorrow to see this camera in action for the first time live on creative lives that's right sony that is super cool. Thank you. Max vehicle is a very good deal so we have so much to go over um I myself a presentation but before you can get to that I want to find out more from you guys. Why you want to learn about shooting models tell me each one by one side with table here I would think building in establishing that report having really good interaction with the work flow between the photographer and the model uh seems very fluid I like that word fluid uh the interaction is big for me also being able to get the look that you want out of the model that's that's a key for me working off bottles I like to create different scenarios that are different from regular portrait sessions so just how to connect and be like get what I want from the model in this special situations I I create porta foreal and then how can I uh markets from there like how can I get noticed from this crowd it um environment sounds good sounds good I love it that no agnes and comey uh comey's himself from ah california agnes you're here in seattle but where you from originally forbids any from poland so pull in pull in here your own agnes japan you are what I most fan so we're going to start it guys if you have any questions, feel free to stop me at any point if you have a question it's part of the same bush smile and it has a swell so we're all one big family if you got somebody unless get going into working with models and before I get going is them talking about can relate it helps you in every discipline no matter what you're doing and you'll find out about that as we get going here what I've learned by shooting I thought my career first by shooting fashion and beauty and that led to the shooting celebrities and ports of the average person in doing commercial work shooting ads for banks and all types of things but it started here with fashion and beauty and we're going to all that so if you have any questions about my start my beginning how you started we answered here this is all about shooting models the process how it started, how you get to this point how do you make them comfortable to give you this shot? Because the world sees that one shot in your portfolio but as photographers we all know there's a lot of work to get to that one shot we'll go into that and dissected little by little how do you get that one image that the world sees that you show in your websites and your portfolio in your promotion pieces? How do you get that one shot that brings you in work? Well, there's a lot that happens in getting there here we are on a actual job but how do you get to the job? How do you get to point where class are hiring you to shoot fashion and beauty and to work with models? How do you get somebody hire you to shoot models it's a fun job you get paid for it as well we'll talk about that how do you get started what's the secret? How could I do that and make a living doing it? Pay my bills go on vacation buy a house, all that stuff by shooting models. How is it possible you gotta start here? Products, what you were thinking, but this is the beginning, and normally, when I speak, I'll talk about this book last. But on this presentation, I think it's very important to start first, because this is the foundation, how you start, how to win friends and influence people. The information in this book can change your life and enhance your life. It gives you the foundation for start your career as a photographer and a discipline, because if you're working with models, let's, break it down. I think just models know their people and who were your clients, their people and it's all about communication with the models, with your clients, with your soon to be clients and all that communication starts by learning how to communicate in an effective way.

This was more of a collaborative course with Matthew Jordan Smith and Yoanna House, and it is brilliant. I just finished watching this for a few hours straight. I own several Creative Live courses and this is definitely in my Top 3. Matthew's teaching style is so kind but to the point and informative. That's the kind of photographer I aim to be. He puts forth his knowledge here in a way that totally encouraged everyone involved. I loved Yoanna as well. She was very direct but friendly as well. I loved watching her direct the budding models and her experience showed quite well. This part is for John, the guy who commented on June 2017. I completely disagree with you that there were too many questions and that other people were talking much more than Matthew, and that that was a negative. Matthew's whole point was not just to get straight to shooting but to talk a bit about interacting with people in general. This wasn't just about technical stuff; this was about forming that connection between photographer and model/subject. This was as much psychology as it was about actual shooting, and I absolutely loved that. So I 100% strongly disagree with you as this is one of Creative Live's BEST courses that I've seen thus far. Thanks a ton, Matthew and Yoanna, and thanks so much again, Creative Live (I'm a huge fan of you guys!).
