Make It Exclusive
In this next section, we're going to begin by talking about, um, exclusivity. So, uh, when you are creating newsletter content, I think it's really nice tio treat you are subscribers to something that is different from what is already available on your show site or within your social media online. So to give them something that's a little bit different and exclusive, one way to do that is to give them first access. So if you're going to be having a sale, I have a friend who has a soaring pattern businesses well, and she has a sale every july. And so she always tells her new set of subscribers, the sales coming, and then they get the sail coupon code four days before she posted anywhere else. And so sometimes she sells out she's some really popular kits on her site, for example, and they sell out, and sometimes they fell out before it goes anywhere past the newsletter. And so that can be a really nice way to treat your subscribers to something special is to give them that first access t...
io to a sale or to something else, um, or even to a tutorial before it goes up in the blood, think about what could you get them first access, tio ah, coupon code is always nice first. To ask newsletter subscribers of another friend was paper business, and she includes a coupon code for her at the shop in every newsletter and that is something on ly newsletter subscribers god, a piece of writing that you're not sharing elsewhere some photos of your studio photos, a process behind the scenes all of that kind of content that you can give that's exclusive content is a nice thing to include and for me, it's those links, the curated list of links is my exclusive content, so exclusive get exclusivity gives people a sense of belonging. I had a feeling of specialness where they feel like they are being treated to something that is different from what other people are getting, and they feel like they're on your team they're part of your community and they belonged and everybody really craves all human beings crave that feeling of belonging, and so to be able to give them a little piece of that through your business is really nice and also a feeling of being let in on a secret something that you know that's coming up that maybe you haven't told other people yet. I often will say in the little editorial section of my newsletter, things that I and just able to talk about now you know new things on and I'll tell my newsletter newsletter subscribers first before I announce it on the blog's they feel like special. And I do want to share it with them. And actually does really come from me to want to share with them first, because they're the ones who I really feel most connected. Tio. So exclusivity is a nice feature. When you're choosing content, you can keep that in mind.

Abby Glassengber's class is a great tool for beginners. Abby encourages us to focus on the goal of our newsletter, and to incorporate aspects of newsletters we enjoy into our own writing. A particularly useful section of the course was the description of different content types that work well for e-mail marketing. Those of us who dislike "salesy" content are given the revelation that our newsletters are a gift to our most dedicated fans. With this in mind, putting together newsletters becomes a more thoughtful and fun process.

A down to earth and honest voice. I found this quite relaxing and a really nice class to get rid of those fears of email marketing. I love how the audience can participate and questions have been asked.
