Camera Menu Q&A
Does the wifi app work on android phones or just Apple? It does work on all of 'em. So you just go to, I think it's the Google Play Store and you download, I believe, what's got the same name on it. So it should work on both. So good. Alright another one. Is there a way to transfer video files using the wifi connection? If not, how do you transmit video files from the field? And so I haven't tried transmitting wifi video yet. There is a problem in that transferring from the camera to the phone is very cumbersome. And one of the options we're gonna have is, when you transfer wifi files, do you want to transfer a relatively low res picture? And I think it was a three megapixel image. Or do you wanna transfer the full file, 'cause if you're transferring the full file, and video files get to be very, very large. Most people have the camera set on just a small file for going up to Instagram. And so for transferring the video file, let's see if... See if I could hook this up real quickly. So...
I'm gonna hook the camera up to wifi which is the bottom of the camera. Get this going. Get the phone up. And actually before I even do any of that, I'm gonna turn the camera off. I'm gonna turn it on. I'm going to shoot a very short video. And my video's gonna be very boring. I am going to start recording. I am gonna zoom out and I'm gonna zoom in. And stop recording. That's my fancy video. Okay, so now I'm gonna into the menu setting. Go down to the wireless communications. Get that started up. Make sure my camera is on... No, I don't want Creative Live. I want... The Fuji XT2. Let's make sure we get the lock on there. Okay, so we're good. Now I'm gonna open up... The wifi setting. Wifi app. And I want to receive. And it cannot be transmitted. We can see the answer right there. So it cannot. If not, how do you transmit files from the field? You would have to download to a computer and go from your computer to the phone in that case. So sorry you can't do it. I think it's just because the files are so large and the wifi system is... Got its limitations.

I highly recommend this class! Been shooting Nikon for 40+ years and decided to give my Nikon gear to my daughter and go the smaller and lighter Fuji X-T2 for travel. Excellent camera and this course was outstanding in helping me learn how to use the camera. I have watched a number of Nikon oriented instructional videos. This video by John Greengo is the best organized and informative presentation I have ever watched.

Really appreciate John putting these Fast Start Series together. Went through part of the training waiting on my Fujifilm X-T20 to arrive, which did today. That allowed me to dive into the menu settings and get the camera ready to use. I found that we are on Firmware 3.0, so, I have some updates to get installed. The training was great and informative as always. Don't hesitate to look for his Fast Start for your particular camera, and the in-depth training on Photography Fundamentals. It is well worth your time and money to get this training, especially if you are an amateur like myself, but, thanks to John Greengo I am quickly learning to use my camera in Manual Mode, most of the time.

We all learn from different methods. I, for one, learn best by watching you while teaching, and being able to work along side you, with my camera in hand, and then follow you. I highly recommend this class if you really want to know how to use your camera. Thank you John for helping me to relive my film days, and integrating into Digital. I now have my Fujo X-T2 programmed and I LOVE IT!
