I do not have a marketing degree I have nothing let's go win us fifteen and when it did make up and hairdressing for two years I do not have a business degree so it stands to reason that I have zero chance of making money my first boss told me I would never be a photographer because I simply elect people skills and I believe that for a long time so I realised business really is just about a really basic common sense you know you make money you save money uh if you were growing tomatoes you would grow your tomatoes and take them to market when she takes them to market you're good to go all of a sudden you're there I've written my teen letters I get seven replies to nose five years is I have twelve hundred vouchers one hundred thirty one sittings equates to two hundred ninety seven makeovers because I opened it up two doubles and triples I'm going to talk about that after our break this is my gift voucher now this isn't the pdf download if you buy this course you get these pity ifs this ...
voucher says a double makeover and photo shoot with super ice plus one hundred dollars towards portrait it's now what does that tell you it tells me that the shooter's for free but it doesn't say free it says somebody else's bought it for you and it says you've got a hundred dollars to spend on photographs there's not a free photo because a shoot in a free photo is final and what I want is to give you a hundred dollars to spend on a package of your choice on an l a cop package of your choice so it's the way you would it then I want to sell the experience it's the ultimate girlsday out celebrate your relationships enjoy this beautiful session with your mom sister best friend partner remember to book a night out afterwards because you look fabulous I'm gonna put an expiry date on it because I wanted to have a call to action and then I'm going to finish with the disclaimer this voucher is not redeemable for cash that's very important I've just given them two hundred ninety dollars they need to know they can't come and get that from me secondly way cannot be held responsible for how entirely hot you will look because we wanted to be cute and funny and gorgeous that gift vouchers in a beautiful envelope it's in a beautiful card rep it is presented to them from a third party that is giving that gift off the shoot this is how I started my business as soon as I started to get referrals I went back to charging one hundred ninety dollars for a double here have double shoot photo shoot with full here in my cap that hundred ninety dollars paid for my makeup artist obviously I had two full time make about us but if you are employing and make about this the sitting feat pays for the maker patterson I get the money when they buy the photographs right okay so turning one into fifteen is probably the best story of ever told and it's such a great story women don't go to the toilet on the rhine right they just died so we're in a nightclub where the path and one of the girls case I'm just going to go to the restroom bathroom washroom whenever he called around the globe and you are the girlfriend dies I'll come in here and we total after the toilet together and it's quite a little social network you go into the toilet these other women standing at the mirrors we all talk to each other I love your lip glass thank you I was just thinking I love you here and we checked to each other this does not happen in them into urine all we know that this does not happen in the means you know you guys down at the urinal going dude I love his shoes it's like don't look at me we're all talking we're all girls were all talking with swapping you know stories and that's what we do we're a community women love to talk talk talk talk talk we have twelve thousand words a day to use you guys have like three thousand long after we have exhausted you were calling out girlfriends in a mom and anyone else that we can talk to long after we have exhausted you so that makes us the best night workers in the world I realized this thing when that business on a board and her mom and sister and then spend an extra four and a half thousand dollars that was the secret I could open a double or a triple makeover and shoot two to three girls at one time they would do it together as an experience and I would double in trouble my income end of story I've been doing that for eight years I do not give away a single voucher I give away to talking about the phone selling an experience this girl up here in the top middle chrissy chrissy called me one day because she had been given a gift voucher from her local gym I was in the country studio in auckland in my little country studio I got this phone call chris he answered the phone I answered the fine to chrissy she said ah hi I've got this gift voucher can you tell me what it is well at the gym that you go to chrissy has given you a double makeover and photo shoot for you to come and enjoy a beautiful here and make up with my makeup artist and be photographed by me a double makeover and furnish it what does that mean you can bring your sister your mother or your best friend christy says okay hang on one minute can I how much more is that going to cost to bring in my girlfriends nothing chrissy nothing your voucher has paid for your shoot whoever you bring to your shoot is up to you the idea is if I pay two hundred dollars to have a make about us there then that's it all I'm doing is getting as many people towards my business as I can it stands to reason that it was in my best interest to get as many people in my studio as I could she turns up if she books in all of her friends they're twenty five years old I told them that I would give them my studio for a whole day with two makeup artists and that they could go out that night they were to bring three outfits and their last outfit was appear jeans and a black top so I could take a group shot of them together they have been best friends since high school so what happens is they come in they have this incredible shoot and we spend one whole day now way break them down into twos to sell to them because I'm not going to sell to a gaggle of women can you imagine twelve thousand words in one room screaming all seeing their photographs you know trying to sell to each one of them so I told them to come in two's and they do they break down into two's quite amazingly because for every group of inner circle girls there is always two that are closer than all of the others you're first your first like um wing man doing moments so they broke down into twos and the first two came and spent fifteen hundred dollars each so what happened to the other four they spent fifteen hundred dollars each so the collective shoot off that day was nine thousand dollars so I did six fifteen hundred dollar folios to six twenty five year old girls girls that did not need to spend a lot of money because this phone was going overseas this one had just gotten married this one I was just getting pregnant just gotten pregnant and so none of them were really at a stage in their life for their likely it's grant's been thousands of dollars on photographs but they had such a great experience in such a great time we marketed as a girls day out what I then did was I marketed to each of those girls that night in the viewings to come back for a family portrait shoot and four of them had families at our family's brothers and sisters and mom and dad that came back and all four of their families should spent five thousand dollars within that month so from one gift voucher from chrissy we ended up doing twenty nine thousand dollars in sales and just less than four weeks because of the way we sold the experience to chrissy the best part is is we liked christy so much we employed here is our photographer and for a year after we were still getting the fallout from christie's family and friends because her dad was married to a step mom and step mom had two daughters and step daughters were friends with all of these girls and had their own in a circle and they came into the girls day out because that was the basis of how we learned that the inner circle marketing was so powerful which brings me to how I started to see the science of marketing tau women which suddenly became a demographic that people were writing books about and then all of a sudden my business exploded because remember if you go back to that time where we're at the studio that we had all of these chutes going on we had made so much money in such a short amount of time we had gone from zero two twenty thousand dollars a week almost overnight are all of a sudden we had this business we had money in the bank and the next thing that happened shocked the hell out of me we got to the end of that four month cycle we were exhausted I had bean training the girls in here and make up on clients I had bean training them a photo shop and doing a lot of it myself I have been training myself to sell which we're going to talk about at the end of the day because I wasn't a natural seller of my work in fact they used to try and give it away what happened nick shocked because I opened my diary and there was nothing booked because whilst I was working twenty hours a day in my business nobody was marketing what do you do the even flow of earning income crashing without income earning income creating without income welcome to the world of portrait photography and all of a sudden nothing prepared me for this because I'm four months into my business I now have three employees including myself coming to my home that need to be paid the money in the bank is not going to last long and I feel like in my mind I have exhausted the marketing opportunities around because I've sent ten letters to the team closest businesses to my studio so what the hell do I do next like I'm literally literally do not know what to do next and I'll tell you after the break

Dawn and I watched the workshop taught by Sue on glamour photography with much anticipation, and we were not disappointed. In fact after only the first hour we turned to each other and, at the same time, said "We should go ahead and purchase this course." Which we did on Sunday, the last day of the three day course. The CreativeLive team did a great job on producing the workshop, the set looked great, the sound and camera angles were unobtrusive as they should be, and the on-screen talent were engaging and approachable as usual. They interjected with questions from the audience in a timely and relevant manner, and humored us all at times as well. As it should be, the real star of the workshop was the information that Sue was providing, but a very strong supporting role was Sue herself. Even though she never made it past the 9th grade, she displayed enough wisdom to make us think that we wasted a lot of time sitting in school. Sue had both Dawn and I captivated, her likable New Zealand accent, was so warm and soothing, that I think we would have listened to her say almost anything. However, "anything" was hardly what she had to say, no-no, she had a great deal to say, and we found all of it so educational and inspiring that we can't wait to put what she tought us into practice. Sue's "Keep-It-Simple" approach to glamour photography is refreshing, she does not complicate a shoot, nor does she complicate the business end of things either. Her philosophy is "A confused mind says 'no.'" So her pricing, marketing and re-pore with her clients is simple, understandable and repeatable. Dawn & I fully recomend this course to anyone looking to engage in glamour photography, not just for the mechanics of learning the studio process, but more for how to think about the process and your interactions with the client, we think that Sue's interaction with her clients is her real "secret" to her success; she makes the photography session for the client a wonderful experience and that experience is what gets them to market her via word-of-mouth exposure, which is the best kind of atvertising and best kind of accolade for a photographer. Thank you Sue, we were both entertained and educated and a little bit mesmerized by your workshop. Hope to see you soon on the CreativeLive stage. Loving every moment of this course so far and I've learned so much from Sue's gentle but wise words. It's so important to be true to yourself and as much as I've enjoyed most of the Creative Live classes I've taken I've had a much different personality than many of the teachers, I am so happy to see how Sue is able to stay calm and quiet and still maintain perfect control of the situation...I had huge anxiety sometimes at shoots thinking I should be bold, boisturous or entertaining to be successful. Looking forward to following her class today in between my son's hockey games...so lucky my computer is in the kitchen and I can watch and still keep things at home fairly sane! lol thank-you, kerry www.snickerdoodles.ca

Watched 80% of it live and after constantly screen grabbing :D I BOUGHT IT. This was my 3rd time watching a CreativeLive and my first time purchasing a course. (Loved Zach and Jody and will probably buy that when the time is right...still a little scared about weddings.) ANYWAY - SUE IS AMAZING!!! She is so open, inspiring, fun, funny, knowledgeable, TRANSPARENT, giving, smart, creative, expert, unapologetic, grateful, enlightened, adorable, gorgeous, hilarious, yet still imperfect and human and not intimidating. She will make you laugh and cry as she laughs and cries. You cannot argue with her MANY YEARS of experience. She is just in love with what she does and it is contagious. I have told people IN PERSON that her online CreativeLive course changed my life. I bought another online course for 2K last year...where was Sue back then? This is worth more than the 2K 6 week course I took. I obviously have a girl crush on her! www.CarolineWhitePhotography.com
