Adding Paint with Stencils
Now you can use like a stencil adhesive if you really want a perfect result and make sure that it's you know all that here down and then pick it up and move it I don't work that way you haven't guest yet um, so I usually put just a tiny bit of paint on my brush and then dab some of it off and then I find a spot that I want to add some texture and I laid down because with canvas you don'thave if you're using this kind of you're using ah panel you've got the whole thing's very sturdy and it's very flat when you're using something like this where you've got a frame around the edge and you've got a fabric in the middle, you're going to get a little bit of give, so if you don't like that and you wanted to be really sturdy, put a book or something underneath of it so that you've got, like, a hard surface under there. Um I like having it a little bit less perfect, so I'm just going to take my brush and if you have stencil brushes and you want to use those feel free, I'm I use what I have and ...
there's certain things I'm want to block their third certain things that need a specific tool for a very specific reason that I know I will use a lot I'll go out and buy it, but if I can make something else work I would rather spend the money on more paint or he's definitely more deco posh I'm just going to staple this on here and just hold it in place you can also use like a washington tape down a section if you want things like that and then you have someone from online who's wondering can you use just so as a substitute for white paint doesn't do something different it's only moral pick and it's um depending on the type that you use it might just be a thicker results but you could use white just so if you don't have white paint yeah, and I use this a lot of times as a way to just add some visual interest or use up paint if I have paint but I just you know again don't want teo goto waste um or if there's a section that seems either really really light or really, really dark it's just a fun easy way to add in a brightness or, um a little bit different totality to the piece, the other thing you can do is once you've got paint on here like this you could turn it over kind of smooth it out let's see good there's paint coming up I thought that this is the third time one of the techniques I'm gonna show doesn't quite work but you get the reverse, then so then you can actually reuse the paint and get the opposite and get more texture added in a swell so you can use all of it the positive space in the negative space so I'm just gonna do this you guys doing okay out there? Okay? Oh, my goodness. Lots of stuff going on out here extra rounds of trips. I like the writing bright and over there. Hey, another really cool thing is you could buy this plane stencil material and draw little something, grab your craft knife and make your own stencils really easily. So if you're an artist too like straw, certain things there's no end to what you can do in terms of stencils. These are also a good way to cover up in oops! I'm not gonna lie. I've been known to do that and you could just use a little paint and get something really subtle or you can go crazy located here and put on a ton it's really again how heavy handed you are is that what the kind of is what you're going to get? We're here I'm just trying to give up what's on my brush I wanted to almost be like a little shadowing, okay, all right, I'm gonna dry that you guys good, they're replaced like quietly, diligently working now, this part, we want to make sure that all of this gets dried really well before we do the next section. So just make sure when you guys were drying, that this all of this is dry. So we don't smear, because we're going to another layer of deco paging. Now, after this, we don't want any of the paint to smear with the deco pies under what we're going to dio.

Wonderful class, so much fun and I love how Stephanie makes you feel so relaxed and that things will be great even if you've never tried something like this before. I wanted to watch the course to get the idea of it, now I can't wait to get the supplies and watch again while trying it out myself. Thanks!

This was very informative, and quite fun to watch. I liked that the instructor endorsed the idea of using items that you have onhand; repurposing old books and other items to use until you really know where your style lies. I also like that she shared the names of products she truly believed were worth purchasing, without being pushy. This art form encourages "play" and is quite forgiving if you have a "happy little accident", because it's not difficult to cover the area in question, to try something different. I'm quite happy that I viewed this class!

Great class. Stephenie is a fun teacher. I really enjoyed it and loved the idea of using melted crayons.
