On to the bottom of the camera we have our quarter twenty tripod socket which means you can hook up all sorts of standardized accessories to that we have our serial number you can record that for insurance purposes the camera comes with one of the npf w fifty batteries and actually the our model comes with two of those batteries believe the s model does too but I'm not one hundred percent certain that all of the cameras will have the standard power adapter but there is an external power adapter that you can get if you're going to be using it in a studio or some sort of scientific environment and you want to leave it plugged in for a long period of time supplied with e r and the s is the battery charger and so if you don't have that it's kind of a nice little accessory tohave because you can stick one battery on that charging while you're out shooting with the camera in another avenue adding on to the bottom of the camera is the vertical grip which some people like for either the two ba...
tteries that you can put in there so if you were a wedding shooter and you're shooting all day and you don't want to be troubled by a battery that dies on you at the wrong time it's nice it's also really good for anybody who shoots a lot of verticals because it's just a more comfortable position for holding the camera for doing any sort of people photography portrait, sports photographers are you going to get the most out of this that's going to sell for about three hundred fifty dollars? Well, on the front side of the camera, we have our front dial. Of course, we have our little mounting index on where to mount up our lenses, the contacts in there that's just communicating with the contacts on the lenses for focusing distance and all the other good information the lens release button kind of hidden down there in the corner a little bit small. In my opinion, this camera does have wifi along with the nfc, so the nfc is one type of very close range. Wifi. Wifi is going to be able to extend much further out and connect to a smartphone that's nearby, and we'll talk more about using the wifi system as we continue through the camera. There is a remote sensor on the camera. You can buy this from for sony for about twenty five dollars, and you can control taking photos and so forth with this device. Now this device looks like a tv remote because it's designed for a wide variety of the sony products out there, and so if you have other sony video cameras, for instance, this may work with them as well. On the top is thie f aluminum, lee illuminator and self timer lamp, and this is something that will turn on when the self timer is activated. Or if the camera is having problems focusing because it's low light and it is trying to shed some more light it's, basically a little flashlight that it tries to sign shine on your subject. I find this a little irritating from a subject perspective, and from a photographer standpoint, I really don't like a lot of bells and lights going on in my camera. So this is one of those things that I'm going to recommend turning off when we passed by it in the menu system. And then we have our sensor system in here. And so the our model is slightly different in that it does not have an optical low pass filter on that, which means that it's possible on the r model, you might get a little bit more, more a problem. So if you're photographing a fine fabric, you could see kind of this rainbow highlighting of colors. Where there is a mismatch between the pattern that you are shooting and the pixels on the camera itself, which makes the s model a little bit better for shooting video, because marie can be a bit more of a problem in shooting video. As you're moving, the camera or a subject is moving around in front of you. But they took that off of the our model so that you could get the sharpest possible images. So there is a little bit of, ah, balance as to that particular feature.

INCREDIBLE Class! I couldn't find anything on the internet that truly explained this camera, explained what it can and can't do and what accessories would work with it. I have had my Sony A7II for awhile now, but was so overwhelmed by it, I rarely even took it out of its case. It was just easier to use my Canon 5D III. After this class, I am so excited to finally practice with and use my Sony. John is an incredible teacher. He is thorough, professional, fun and knowledgeable! Buying this class was the best investment!!! I feel like I just got the gift of a new camera because I can finally use my Sony!!! Thanks John and Thanks Creative Live!!!

I stored my Sony A7II for more than a year since I've been Canon's user for 7 years and I felt unsure of taking this new camera which implied a different menu system, different functions, a little bit intimidating. Finally, I took a bit of valor, put my camera next to the computer monitor for then start watching this guide and I spent a great time actually. I'm amazed at how helpful and clear is the sequence of the chapters. It was enough to get to chapter ten to know all the basic controls and start taking pictures with an equivalent confidence of my good old Canon, or even better since in the chapter 8th I learned how accurate and easy to use is the focusing system, either, manual or auto (For stills I've always used manual focusing). Very informative, enjoyable and now I became a new fan of the mirrorless cameras, at the point that I'm considering to buy another two :D

Was so grateful to find this class introducing the operation of my first mirrorless camera. The Sony a7 series is quite different from my Canon DSLRs and I am confident that John gave me a good head start. Without this comprehensive intro it would have been VERY frustrating and I would not be making full use of the camera's many abilities! Thanks for a great course at a fair price.
